Uk only 😟
6k why not just buy two bikes and lets the cops have one if you get pulled over.
BBB Honda Blackbird? - bargains still to be had sub £2k, still fast, can do the track, can tour, can modify, somewhat reliable. ZZR11, ThunderAce. Its the budget showdown we all need.
The crime of the century is the fact that 44teeth has 310k subscribers and not 310mil.
The crime of the century is Geoengineering.

On price and inflation: you're right. It's just that wages don't keep up.
Exactly! Our purchasing power is way down. New bikes are a luxury for the rich now. (Or fools with credit)
I was about to post the exact same thing. Wages not keeping up with inflation is what makes bikes seem expensive. Same with every considered purchase ☹️
Go to Yamaha Japan and a new R1 is £12,400. Never mind inflation we get striped in the UK for everything. Triumphs are way cheaper in Japan than the UK. It’s pure profiteering, the rise of PCP and the Brits propensity to embrace indebtedness that’s largely at fault. Love your channel!!
What is the Vat in Japan?
@@wl660 10% on bikes, so about 14k OTR for an R1M at the moment
The post covid shipping cost increase has been brutal
even cheaper go to China and get them for 50% of uk retail.
Sorry but you're wrong on the last point, credit is the primary way new vehicles are bought everywhere, including Japan. It's profiteering, that's the answer. Inflation is primarily caused by asset acquisition and wealth growth, which are a direct result of the government's refusal to tax wealth - the richest people in the country pay almost no tax, less than someone on an average salary.
BBB Italia still my absolute favourite to put on
The insurance increase is why I now ride an NC750X. Still, better to have two wheels than not.
The actual problem with the prices of bikes is not just inflation, it's because wages simply don't keep up with inflation. Give it a couple of years bikes will go in the £30k range but how many people will have that sort of cash compared to back when they were around ~£10k. I got my license in 2014 and could afford to buy a decent new bike if I saved for a bit, now days it feels hard justifying almost £10k for a 650cc twin commuter knowing the motor etc was similar to a £5k model few years back even with my promotions etc.
Anyways used bike prices I agree are an absolute joke as you mentioned currently and I think the above is partly the issue but also the pandemic and the move to electric imminent. Most people will have to finance in the future it seems which is a little depressing......... But what's the point anyways since roads have become all 20 MPH zones the fun feels over
They lag inflation, but that’s always been the case. The BOE 2% inflation target coupled with taxation classes, drives low earners into higher tax brackets.
It depends on which kind of inflation; there's "basket of goods" inflation and there's inflation including housing. If you own a house that you bought, say, 20 years ago, then your salary rate of increase is likely to have far exceeded the "basket of goods" inflation. If, on the other hand, you're a renter or your house is required to be refinanced every 5 years aka Canada, then it's likely that your salary rate of increase is quite a bit behind housing increases.
Thus, bikes adjusted for inflation are either far too cheap or far too expensive at the same time! Since younger people are less likely to own their own house, it follows motorcycle purchases would be for aging riders...and that's exactly what we see. Older homeowners with fixed expenses and increasing salaries are the only ones able to afford motorcycles.
You can buy a decent new bike now for under 10k....mt09, duke 890, f900r etc. I get what your saying everything is priced ridiculous now but there's still decent bikes for the money
@langhamp8912 Canada forces refinancing every 5 years?
@@Scouse.Malinois I have a 22 XSR900 (the close brother of the MT09) and its performance is just ridiculous and otherworldly. But it only cost me $9000. That's like, what, 3 paychecks? It makes more power and weighs 30 pounds less than the original Honda CBR900RR! And yet its insurance is rated by Progressive (I live in the US) is rated as "very low risk". How sick is that?
On the other hand, I use it primarily for cruising, touring, and urban commuting. I swear, I'm trying to get a trackday in there just so it will have seen past 7000 rpm.
You relayed inflation very accurately Chris and gave an objective concrete example. Top. Inflation always and everywhere is a deliberate Government policy.
Well it helps that after creating trillions of new money from thin air for the 0.001% the Central Banks made it clear interest rates had to rise dramatically no matter how high unemployment and inflation got (it was the aim). People are suffering the consequences and will be for years.
Look I don't want to be that guy & I love 44T, but nah not really, he's completely wrong on this and it pisses me off every time - I mean, yeah, inflation is usually induced by policy (thankfully the central bank is not the government, people study a lifetime and dream of working at the central bank).. but first of all the bank/'government' is not almighty (if there is a shortage of something, you can print or shrink currency as much as you want... but you're still short on that thing, be it sophisticated chips, gas, or toilet paper), and second inflation has some positive/desirable aspects on the overall country's economy you're not considering (stimulates investment, for one)
@@61percentodicaricathe problem with that is it doesn't matter to people who can't get a job or afford housing that there's 7% more investment in London.
Thats why we go from a fiscal conservative government to Labour every time we get a decent economy. Which is why we lurch from crash to crash and have to go back to austerity.
As for the inflation issue, the problem is the gov isn't honest abiut the real rate, look at what they take out of the calculation.
Admittedly we were very lucky the tories handed the Bank of England control of the interest rate before Blair came in.
SUPERDUKES are only £13,999 right now with 4 year warranty and free Tech Pack, but only for last years 1290 model.
Only the R model. The EVO model has 3 grand off as well though.
Plus 6 grands to insure it for some. Lmao on the ripoffsurance prices. But I'll shut up.

BBB8, please do hyperbikes, loads of older bikes at good prices, old busas, blackbirds, k1300s, zzr1400s!
Chemtrails, inflation scam, etc. Brilliant! My mortgage in Japan is 0.3%, my wife's BMW X1 (BMW finance) loan was 1.9% and it costs less than a tenner for a big meal and a beer. Oh, and it's usually blue skies and no pot holes in the roads. I really don't know why anyone would want to live in England. Advantages Vs. Disadvantages 😂
japan is a special case japan has had negative central bank interest rates for 30 years. if any other country did this they would explode. japan is crying out for inflation and industry just isint expanding at all.
@@nick4506correct, but for the common man Japan is a slice of heaven
Agreed. I left the Sinking Isle over 20 years ago to move to a 'developing nation', which is so far ahead of the UK in so many ways (cheese is pricey though 😢).
Aren't speed limits even lower in Japan? I swear their max is 100 kmh so there is no point owning anything more than 125.

Great video fellas, coming from a big MotoGP fan Chris is right after hearing in previous videos when he says WSBK is way ahead in terms of exciting racing, watching Toprak on the BMW at Catalunya was something else, even at Phillip Island too, I watched some of 2023 but this year it’s mega love Toprak and hope he can win the championship on that BMW beast!
Cheers lads you cheer me up no end
They'll say literally anything to keep you paying out the ass for insurance won't they? lol
We live in an era with 20mph limits, Cameras everywhere, including on the vehicles themselves, accident avoidance driver assists.. and yet accidents are still increasing? Something isn't adding up, but admittedly, I'm shit at maths 🤣
....and to my point @17:25.
Hadn't got to this part before my rant 🤣🤣
I’ve heard a massive part of it is the courtesy car fiddle. Insurance companies and ‘accident management’ companies are showering claimants with a free courtesy car. They use rental firms that charge sometimes an order of magnitude more per day than what the car should cost. Parts delays lead to months of hire and massive sums are built up. It’s outrageous and the UK population, well those that bother to get insurance, are taken for a ride.
@@edwardfrench9925 Wouldn't be surprised if that were true word for word. Probably just one of many side-hustles 🤣 It's been a snaky industry since inception. Even
@@edwardfrench9925and also they will want you to store your bike with them & then charge the other party's insurance for that as well

Excellent as always. I hope that you eventually host theatres in the U.S. for your future productions!
Bought a new GSA and have been riding for one year. Insurance quotes for Sussex address, £650, Bromley (just inside the M25, £2,200, Southwark (bike theft UK hotspot), £4,500! So basically a one in four chance of the bike disappearing? All quotes were garaged. Mental but as the Baron mentioned in a video once, many say “well it’s insured so we’re not too fussed that someone has stolen it”. He argued that his life is insured so does that make it ok to be murdered?
Sustainable bio fuel is mainly made from palm oil.
Borneo is now a palm oil mono culture as most of the rain forest has been cut and burned.
The sadest thing I ever witnessed was a orang utang sitting aloft a lonesome tree.
Invest 1/1,000th the amount of money invested in EV lithium and cobalt mining and you'd have another means of alternative biofuels developed in no time. Also, speaking of sad sights like that orangutan... ever witness child slave labor in Africa, where raw EV batteru ingredients are harvested? Let's get our priorities straight, ey?
They're both poor situations. Two wrongs do not make a right. Hydrogen powered engines have been spoken about for 30 years. When necessity kicks in, perhaps it will finally come on board.
5 years from now, every single policy will be black box policy. Prices will be mental except for the boxes, and people will have no choice
Most likely, their plan.
I guess the other choice will be mass disobedience...
You’ll be delighted to learn that the March bike sales stats are out and the pesky 1300 is the best selling bike of any capacity - 431. And sorry to say but month on month sales are slightly down, YTD basically identical. In other words, sales are on their arse 😂
Great to hear you mention Van der Mark! Michael and Toprak really match well due to their history in Yamaha. And when are you finally going to make a video on the amazing Ducati 999 behind you?
They did an entire Budget Bike Battle series with it and an MV Augusta F4, BBB 02 Italia!
Insurace on 20YO bikes is much lower, proping up values of turn of the milenium bikes. Which also happens to be the sweetspot of analogue biking. Plenty of low mileage pampered examples out there. They don't suffer depreciation, improve your riding and offer more than enough performane for our road network.
Another great episode! I would rather watch you two than actual tv. Especially love the “ Geo Engineering” comment 👌 bring more! Daily if possible!!
Always a great day when the News comes out!
With the R1 being possibly put to pasture and it’s already high rarity in Canada it’s gotten insane for what guys are asking privately. A 2015 R1S for sale in my area is $18,000 CAD which is only $5,000 less than a 2024 model. A 2012 with low mileage will now run you around $13,000 on average.
Lads you always make my day when you pop up on my RUclips Stream. Keep it up.
In 2014 a Panigale 899 in Singapore was SGD 36,000, which was around GBP 21,000. Today a panigale V2 is SGD 72,000. The price has doubled in 10 years.

Been watching WSBK since it started, the race at Catalonia was as you said....The best, ever.
Used bike prices have gone nuts, apart from my mint, low mileage RSV1000 which I would struggle to give away. Still some bargains out there if you look around. Decent cooking model aprilia RSV / Tuono, gen 1 or gen 2 can be had for sensible money.
Insurance can be a problem though. I just sold my 08 Tuono, but on guy who was 60+ came to have a look, loved and and said ill have it but just let me first try an insurance quote just in case..... he'd got full no claims, his long term bike was a gsx1400 and insurers wouldn't touch him. He lives in Doncaster mind (which I didn't realise was a thing until watching this). He was gutted. (He was looking for something lighter to move around due to his age)

Re the insurance - a new and or new to you bike is always more expensive to insure than one you've had for a year or isn't new.

Dang, you're so right about Benellis. About 15 years ago, after seeing a Cafe Racer 1130 - and wanting one - I went down to a specialist dealer in Kent. The nearest thing the guy had was a TNT Titanium, which was about a year old and on sale for about 4 thousand something. In hindsight perhaps I should've snapped it up as a total bargain, but instead all I could see was a bike which, having already lost 50% of its value in 12 months, had - and would quite probably continue to have - a depreciation curve that was so steep it was scary. You're right: they *were* selling for peanuts, but not any more. If only I'd known that, then.
As for naff sponsors, I wouldn't count snacks as the worst: that's got to go to Chupa Chups and the sight of Jorge Lorenzo sticking one of their lollipops in his face whenever he was in front of a camera
