I don't like gold wheels! the engine is a Subaru boxer engine! the Japanese boxer engine was developed based on the original boxer engine that Porsche invented for the Porsche Boxster! the name boxer coms from the sport of boxing because the heads of the cylinders meet each other as they pass each other just like the gloves of boxers during a match, this is due to the 2 cylinders on each side being horizontally opposed facing inward towards the valley of the intake manifold which sits in-between the cylinder heads and are set in an interlocking finger design unlike a v style where they are positioned in a v style shaped angle moving outward towards the exhaust manifold headers or a straight or in line where they move up and down in a vertical orientation the difference in straight verses inline being inline are set in a straight single file line where a straight engine set up they are in a single file line on each side of the engine block!
given the boxer engines where designed they pack a very venomous and addicting punch with superior throttle response even with low power numbers making them a thrill to drive!

Before 2 weeks ago it has not been washed since the summer of 2018. The last time we went on vacation was the summer of 2019. Ever since 2019 it has been sitting for 4 years, so it was like 3 or 4 different colors green brown black and maybe rust spots. I was bored that day so we decided that I should clean it. You guys have been crushing it with the uploads recently. I'm glad you have a modern era car that actually runs this week. To answer your question, I love Gold rims on the right vehicle. I don't know how much I love them on that white Scion, but I loved them on my old, gold Infini and I really love them on matte black vehicles, too. Let's see how I feel when you guys are done with the detail, though. Have a great week.
I am glad this car is now with someone who will love it. You did a beautiful job. You never know where the day will take you, thank you for sharing your work.

Also they don't get in your ears and make you deaf...LOL I don't know why they are called earwigs but that's what I've always heard them called. They really are harmless. The pinchers are to soft to do any real damage.
@@arlenebrooks5163It is called scissors in Spain, they do slight damage, with the tweezers like a wasp sting, they are usually on trees and plants in shady areas and they sting your legs and arms, it is common in the field, I have many stings... but they have not survived haha

I really like the Sparco gold rims on the car… the earwigs I could definitely live without! Was the front bumper replaced at some point? It looked like it was a different color when you were washing it, before it was re-painted. Nice job!
The badge may not have come with the car but as mentioned earlier it is really a Toyota 86 or a Subaru brz. As the gold rims I love them so long as they complement the paint. Personally I like the gold rims with a dark blue, purple or black, white not so much. Enjoy your new ride!
I am with you on the gold rims. Pair those with yellow, orange and lighter shades of red, there just isn't enough contrast to make them pop. I think they are OK with the white, but the colors you suggested are spot on.
No it is a Scion FRS. The FRS was the north american version of the 86 from 2013-2016, and it was introduced as the Toyota 86 everywhere else in the world. Since Scion went out, it became the Toyota GT86 everywhere in 2017, when they facelifted the 86 and the BRZ.
@@philtrysstrongman he said "it is really a Toyota 86 or a Subaru BRZ." I simply said it is an FRS. I don't call my BRZ an FRS or an 86 depending how I feel on that day, because it is a BRZ.

Great job guys! What a nice car! And it is a Toyota, so all you have to do is change the oil and the brakes periodically, and it will last forever. I am so glad you bought it.
Well actually it is a Subaru built car, launched as a joint project between Subaru (BRZ)and Toyota (86) built in the Subaru factory with a boxer engine like all Subaru and unlike any Toyota.
for a 2016 model is not bad, it's actually really cool. and the wheels make it shine even better! i would like to own this car imho, i love it's design.
I really like the gold wheels, they seem to compliment the whit paint ! How long did you have to wait to buff the new paint on the front end ? Great job on the car it looks brand new.
A few things to note here! Firstly, the FR-S actually did come factory stock with the 86 logos but typically they are removed in favor of the carbon fiber vented ones or the blacked out ones because the chrome itself is too bright and bulky and interrupts the flow of the car. Secondly, this motor is a FA20 motor putting out roughly 200 HP on around a solid 2700lbs of weight and it was designed by Subaru taking inspiration from the EJ motor (the FA is N/A, but is still a boxer engine like both cars). Some quirks to note about the FA is that the oil filter is up top on the engine bay and the spark plugs are located on the side of the engine making sparkplugs an extremely difficult job to do on these cars. Additionally, the FA20 would've been a great engine for this platform if the tune from factory hadn't been the worst thing on this Earth, more specifically the infamous torque dip in 3/4. The torque dip was so bad that foot pressed down to the floor you would only gain 1-2 mph every 2-3 seconds or so, and the only way to avoid the torque dip while driving would be to shift into 4th at redline for 3rd and even then you would encounter it. The way to get rid of the torque dip would be to add aspiration via a turbo or supercharger (supercharger is easier to do on these cars as you can just connect it via the crank pulley), or by getting UEL headers and using an OFT (preferably ecutek on this platform). Other than that, they're incredibly fun and meant to beat other cars in corners; it's able to keep up with the likes of Porsche in corners and even outclass Lamborghini and Ferrari in certain cases on the corners. They are by no means "fast" compared to other sports car, nor are they meant to be, they are meant to be driven in the canyons and properly enjoyed on the road and they love to be taken to redline and abused by absolutely letting that engine rev to the moon!
I’ve never heard of these cars, but they’re in the true sports car spirit - compact, chuckable and not too much power. 🎩 off for your committed to buy the car following the understandable error.

Gold Wheels would not be my first choice. This was a joint venture with Subaru so the flat 4 boxer engine is what you see here. Subaru's version is the BRZ.
