Everyone always talks about the beginning of Up, but not the part where Charles Muntz talks about killing a bunch of people who tried to come to Paradise Falls. I find that way darker, and it was the darkest Pixar moment in my opinion until Coco used murder in their story. Especially the part where he basically threatens to kill the main characters with a sinister grin on his face. "An old man taking his house to Paradise Falls. Oh, that's the best one yet, I can't wait to hear how it ENDS...."

I think you guys hit the nail on the head with this one. It's a great list! For the people asking why Up is only an honorable mention, think about it. Yes, Ellie's death is heart breaking and devastatingly painful, but when compared to the rest of this list, it's small potatoes. The other deaths are grisly and grotesque, and both death and non-death scenes are straight up nightmare-inducing. Ellie is tear-jerking, but you will never convince me that that's darker than the rat traps, the scream extractor, the incinerator, or Ernesto poisoning Hector. I love Up and I love Ellie, but for this list, she's where she's supposed to be. I might rearrange a couple of things that made the list, but it's really good as is. Well done, MsMojo!

Ellie's death was more unsettling than Mr. Incredible finding out his friends are dead through a screen. She didn't complete her dream & it was ultimately crushed, Carl wanted to give her that last bit of hope but she didn't even reach the top of the hill in which he could surprise her, not to mention the fact that she couldn't have kids as she wanted to, having to use up trip money for accidents, & in the end Carl staying all alone. I think that deserves more recognition.
