@1S0AR Dirk doesn't use triggers. If he were you wouldn't hear a 'blur' as you say you can, infact you'd hear the exact opposite, a distinct tone. That's pretty much the whole point in triggers, to hear each note clear when playing fast.

@cblaineftw Im actually workin on that short lick he plays. It's a Swiss Flam, counted one two-and-a-three four-and-a-chorus In which he plays all doubles on the snare, and the singles on the hi-hat. The lick itself is quite fluent, but the hard part is switching from hihat to snare ^^
shut up about kollias already, this is Dirk video with real drumfeeling and groove great fills, not soulless 200mph kollias machinegun with same fills over and over!

I like the speed metal beats that lead with the foot instead of the punk rock style fast beats that lead with the snare. He's very tight and clean and has that swivel method down for his faster double bass. He looks like he's geekin' though...

@BarbababaBabarMama the fact about triggers is that its just another tool to create even more super human music. Having something against using triggers on bass drums is like having something against the advancement of guitar pickup responsiveness! Or having something against Axe Fx tools! Its tools like this that create the never ending advancement of metal... Along with the constantly increasing musical skill of metal musicians
The only thing I can complain about this is that I don't like to play setup like that. That is just my personal preferration and Dirk is one hell of a drummer and love Soilwork! :)
2022 and I'm still returning to this video from time to time. Awesome performance by this increible drummer. Gotta love Dirk for sure!
