Irradiant was such a great album. This was a great surprise to find this morning. Dirk is such a unique voice in metal drumming. Very happy that he got the Megadeth opportunity and really value everything he brought to scarve and the first few soilwork records he did
It's so amazing to see Dirk give some love to Scarve in this decade. I don't know if it's him or someone at Meinl who pushes for Scarve songs to be played, but I'm grateful to everyone who's involved in making this happen. Scarve was such a unique band and Irradiant is an absolute TREASURE of an album. Easily top 5 metal albums of all time for me, there's just nothing else like it out there. We're maybe not the biggest fanbase, but we love Scarve to death. THANK YOU DIRK AND MEINL!
One of the best drummers of our time he just kills every time he might have to hold back with mega death but he stays consistently in pocket matching there musical styling perfectly
I once saw him doing this live from the side stage. With my jaw on the floor! What a beast and super sympathetic guy! We were playing the support act with my band ‘Herfst’ at the time, in Wervik (Belgium). I love videos like this!
I bought a 17" Dark Custom over a year ago just because I thought it looked cool, turns out, it sounds amazing as well. I've been replacing my existing cymbals with all Darks as fast as my wife has allowed me to ever since.
Sylvain Coudret! Gonna shout his name because he's mad underrated. Fantastic songwriter too. His contributions to Soilwork are some of their best tracks imo, like Leech, Realm of the Wasted, Enter Dog of Pavlov, Deliverance is Mine, Alight in the Aftermath...
Dirk has been one of my favorite metal drummers since stabbing the drama was released. Then I found out he did session work for Sybreed and many others. I was like NO WONDER they were so intricate on the drums. I met him had to be 2007 or 2008 when Soilwork played a show in Nashville, he was very kind. Btw he doesn’t age lol

I have the whole Classics Custom Dark cymbal series. They sound focking AMAZING! My whole neighborhood can hear me jam in the basement..they're loud AF!

@@ChaosPootato Lawrence did a great job on the latest Scarve album "The Undercurrent" back in 2007. Not an easy task to step into Guillaume's shoes but Lawrence did it successfully.
