When you see others play Take no prisioners it seems to be not thaaaaat fast, but when you try to play, the song its fast as fuck.
After seeing Dirk on Drumeo he’s fast becoming my favorite drummer, period.

There is no comparison to Gar Samuelson on drums. Menza was great but Samuelson was phenomenal. Personally I also like Poland more than Friedman but I’m better at picking drummers than I am guitarists. Before you disagree with me on Gar, don’t bother, I’ve already had these feuds time and time again and there’s nothing new you’re going to throw my way.

I think Nick Menza's drum parts on this album are a fantastic example of slick Metal drumming and Dirk truly is in his own league.

From a technical point of view, Megadeth songs may be a walk in the park for him, but I like how he respects the parts and plays them with the right groove and intention. Dirk is a master in metal drumming!

@@joeltallic5503 Yes. If you doubt this look up his drumming on Soilwork's album "The Living Infinite". Dirk has levels above Megadeth. While I wouldn't call this "easy mode" for him.... it is certainly nowhere near his full potential ability wise.

I saw those classics cymbals in the top down shot for the first time and I actually laughed out loud. Not because they look bad or weird, but because they look AMAZING. I know aesthetics are the last thing to take into consideration when shopping for cymbals, sound is everything, but these looks WILD and they sound great too! I didnt know this series, they are by far the best looking cymbals I've seen, what a sick look!

Dirk is an absolute beast. Sad he left soilwork, but if hes happy, all the power to him. I feel like he's a little under utilized in Megadeth for the talent he has.
I just look at it like this. Now he's got the cushy, high-paying corporate gig and can do what he really loves on his off-time. Just sad that we don't get to hear his creativity as regularly anymore for sure.

These classics are the first cymbals on metal drummer set up, besides one or two of Matt halpern’s crashes also by merino, but his are dryer and I think even uses a benny greb ride and hats.
