Well being an active person (in specific domains of course) is what an 'activist' mean anyway. It would not help in anyway or even harm to redifine those terms. Just try to help people understand what the term really stands for and for what manner of conduct it calls for.
Why are news always quoting activists, whose salaries are paid by special interests, instead of just polling people on the street? Or at least ask people if they care to hear about some random activist group first. Just because they have time doesn't mean anyone needs to listen to this.

There's another side to this girls behaviour that doesn't fit the narrative that she's a poster girl for progressivist activism. I'm not against her and I respect her right to voice an opinion but I think it's only fair top point out that she has some very toxic politics and narrow minded opinions. She clearly has an underdeveloped self awareness which is endemic in modern leftism.

I would probably agree with everything Saffiyah has to say, but I also understand that people my age on the left need to be relatable in order to gain traction with there ideals, if that makes sense. Not to be so judgmental. Perhaps with the rise of smartphones and technologies, more people my age are used to their bubbles, on both sides, and self awareness is waining thin for generations to come
