I think in Ichiran’s case it has more to do with focusing on the flavour of the ramen. Because you aren’t getting a lot of visual input other than the bowl in front of you, your other senses are enhanced.

Its such a small country with high population density and i big part of the population lives in crowded cities. For some this might be their only time alone without interaction, stress etc.
so you can respectfully stfu and enjoy your meal.

Why does the U.S not have single booths where you can quickly and easily get food without having to talk to a single person, not even the waiter? We need that here!

@@filthy_neet I think there's 2 location. I went to one when I visited New York. Got regular (nothing added) only because it was $20 with a refill of ramen only(promo). If I had added everything he did it would cost like an extra $10. Was still hungry lol.

I watched this video shortly before my visit to japan. My hotel happened to be right next to an Ichiran location and I decided to try it for an early dinner.
I went back the next day for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. That's how good this place is.

Thank you for the amazing video! I used to work for Ichiran in Tokyo 12 years ago and I still love Ichiran. Next time you eat Ichiran ramen, I’d recommend you to keep some soup and pour it into the bowl of rice to make ramen soup risotto.
Do you have suggestion for other ramen? I want to try different places than Ichiran. I hear Uezu, Sumire, Nakiryu, Santouka, and Tsuta. If you can suggest me some I will be soo happy 🤗

Cloudy Skies I wouldn't spend a plane ticket to Japan just for this ramen. We went to Japan last spring and tried ichiran just to see what the hype was about. The broth was *extremely porky*. We all thought it might as well have been pig jacuzzi water. We couldn't finish half of it. If you're a big fan of porky flavor you might love it I suppose. I'm actually a big fan of Japanese food even any other tonkotsu ramen but basically this is the only thing I haven't liked. Go to Japan for other amazing ramen places though. All of the places recommended by TabiEats on RUclips we're mind blowing and we would go every 2-3 days to those! Cheers :)

I work at Ichiran Midtown in NYC and I’ve been eating the ramen for almost 2 months and I’m still not sick of it... this is just how good this ramen is
I also ate here in Tokyo. I can confirm; this was by far the best Ramen of my LIFE!
If only my country had such private one person booth I wouldn't have need to spend so much money to get my friends to come with me and end up paying for them too, coz sitting alone on a table with 3 empty chairs is just awkward

I went to ichiran on my last day. It was very good but i dont think it was the best Ive had in Japan and I'll explain why.
When i checked off the boxes to customize I pretty much went medium on richness and garlic etc... So while it wasn't bland it certainly wasnt as rich as i liked it. So the fact that you can customize your ramen is what ruined the experience because I dont usually have the option to choose how my ramen is actually prepared besides the kind. Usually you order and thats it.
So for me the customization was a pro and a con because I played it safe with the flavors but when I go back to Japan I'll give it another try and try something different with my order.

It’s really good. I like chicken ramen 🍜. Make sure when you try it you get the boiled egg with it. It’s fantastic, especially the broth which is great in the winter. Best of luck and give us an update when you do try it!!

I just came back from japan yesterday, and Ichiran ramen was on my list of places to eat thanks to you. I have to completely agree with you that is the best bowl of ramen I have ever had, any time I saw Ichiran no matter where I was in Japan my friend and I went in with no hesitation. Thank you for showing us this place, now all I have left is the pictures I took of the ramen I had until i return to Japan one day. Thanks again!

I know that feeling. Wanting to stay somewhere and just keep on eating. Not because its great value or because you get a lot of food, but because its so incredibly good and you know that when you're done you wont get to have it again for several years, if ever.

Whenever I eat Pork or Chicken ramen I always fry pork or chicken seasoned with 5 spice. When you boil your noodles add the season packet to the noodles and soft boil 2 eggs. Best ramen ever 🔥
