Love you guys decided to save this S4 from scrapyard.. Even the car can not be started it still has lots of value parts. Those magnesium alloy rims on this car are quite special named Avus in good condition are worth 500 $ each rim, not mention the engine and gearbox and different other parts that can be sold as well for good money.. Would be fun to see like a part 2 or what happen with the car next.. tank you, you guys grow beautifully, we watch you from Europe, so keep doing good work !!!
Hey everyone! We own this car now. Our plan is to try and fix it up over the winter and have out to our events next year. Thanks to WD for getting the process started.
That bag in the rear is a ski bag! Some bmws have those bags as well built in for people who want to store their skis. They most likely use them overseas in Germany, I doubt anyone in the U.S. has used it before.
2.7 V6 Bi-Turbo. B5 S4 is on the want list. Currently own a 2.0T B7 Quattro A4. LZ5A is my colour code and that doesn't look too fat away. Mine has light blue metal flake 😊
I just got on the Audi wagon a few weeks ago. Got a good deal on a 2000 A4 S-Line. It's now in the shop getting the rear shocks and front bushings replaced. Everything on it works: all the electronics work; sunroof, windows, sound system. Next come timing belt and coolant replacement, and I got to fix one of the headlights because it seems water got into it, and replace the infamous LCD screen. It only has 84.000 miles on it, seats are not ripped or anything. so I think I got a pretty good car. The moment I drove it for the first time I was like "ok, THIS is what driving a nice German car means". I'm hooked!
Yes I love when you talk guys it calms me and love to hear dialogue from experienced detailers talking bout stuff they've seen , done(and life experiences)
I like the dialogue because it shows us what y'all are really like. As you said, we get a 25-minute video for something that took upwards of 10-12 hours over days. I find it super interesting. I'd also like to find out how your channel developed.
Likely not scrapyard, but part-out, so everything that somewhat survived is sold since it makes more financial sense to sell it in good parts versus selling it as a whole needing A LOT of work
Hello from Germany from the world-famous trade fair city of Leipzig. Your so-called air tube.. 😄😉🤣 this is a ski bag to store equipment and to protect the interior from dirt and moisture. Many German buyers of the legendary best all-wheel drive system often went on winter vacation to Switzerland, Austria or Italy. This bag protects the interior. best regards Alex I've been following your channel for 2 years.
I bought one of these in 2000 brand new. 6 speed manual, silver, black interior. What a car it was. MTM chip made it really quick. Miss that thing. Nice to see the restoration.
We drove a AUDI A 4 B5 stationwagon with the 1.9 TDI ( diesel) engine from 1999, with more than 535.000 kilometers with no problem what so ever! Very reliable and with excellent driving and never have any problems , so that was the best car ever and we did drive it for more than 22 years ! The bag from the rear end you blow air in it and put your ski,s in it so you want damage the interior. And our Audi did not have any rust spot on it even there are a lot salt during the winters !
I owned a 2000 B5 S4 (bought in Houston, sold in Seattle, its only 2 homes, always garaged, never raced) in this color combo from new until 194k. original clutch until 189k. An awesome car!!! Regret selling, but as with every Audi, lots of maintenance costs along the way. Minimum $750 to $2500 each time I took it in. Great job, WD Detailing!
He's right about these things being reliable and I can confirm. We have a 1999 Audi A8 D2 2.5TDI and the car itself has 476100km or so on the dash and counting. And after all it has been through the car is virtually indestructible, and I have no doubt it can go for more. Sure the valve stem seals started leaking but thats the ONLY major issue right now. Else than that she still purrs and hauls around normally. These old Audis were one hell of a reliable beast man. And the suspension was and still is definitely ONE OF THE GREATEST in the game, its one of the nicest and most comfortable suspensions in a cheap car like that ever. You can pick up a 1999 s8 4.2 V8 here nowadays for like 4-5000 euro which is basically nothing. Great video!
im sure someone has already said it but the back seat center tube is the skit boot, you put your ski's into it. normally people don't pull them out as they are a pain to get stuffed back in neatly and nicely.
For anyone watching that owns a B5 S4 and needing a filler plate for their front bumper, I've reverse-engineered them ;) Great video and better timing as I'm restoring a santorin avant as we speak. This video is motivation to get it done!
You're so right about how taking care of a car will make it last longer. I have two older Mercedes (2004 & 2009) and I constantly get comments about how expensive they must be to repair. I haven't had a single major repair on either of them because I get them serviced regularly and deal with any potential issues before they become problems. Both my cars perform and look much newer than they are.
My attainable dream cars are a 3rd gen Toyota MR-2, Autozam AZ-1, or Porsche 924 Turbo. My unattainable dream road cars are an Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, McLaren F1, 993 Porsche 911 GT2, 996.1 Porsche 911 GT3, Subaru 22B, and a Nismo R33 Skyline. Great video, I like having you guys talk and show your personalities in it!
Mike’s not lying. B5 body, S4 is probably the best Audi of all time. This ones the 6spd too. So sick. Put some fenders on it, do the body work on the back, fix that expensive bumper and roll. Great work guys.
The sleeve in the arm rest in the back is for when you go snowboarding or skiing you can run your skies or snowboard threw it so you don't get the inside of the car wet and can you do a part to so we can see if it we'll run and or what it we'll take to do so. I have a silver b5 s4. 132k miles and full stage 3 just done over the winter. Getting ready to dyno tune it in the next few weeks. Love B5s
My B5 S4 has just passed the 300,000 mile mark. It is my daily driver and has been ultra reliable, never letting me down in 19 years of ownership. I always feel that those that say the B5 S4 is unreliable have probably turned the $@*& out of it and therefore over stressed the engine, drivetrain, etc. Just enjoy it for what it is. Probably already said by others but the bag that emerges from the rear seats is a ski bag. This was an option.

Dude...I would freaking LOVE to have one of these cars! The 2.7 twin turbo V6 was a beast at 261 HP and could rocket the car from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Those engines were notoriously unreliable, but it looks like someone took good care of this one. Other than the normal leprosy of the clearcoat, it looks like this one lived a fairly normal life.
Always one of my dream cars when I was younger, picked up an 01’ A4 1.8T and GIAC chipped it in 2000 but lusted after an S4 in nogaro blue. The Santorin blue this one is painted in is nice but Nogaro is still one of the my favorite paint colors of all time . Amazing cars then and still very cool today.

I’ve had VW since 2011. First a Mk6 GTI. Traded it in 2020 for a Mk7.5 Golf R (both DSG). Normal maintenance and a few replacement parts, other than that they’ve been great and fun to drive!
I would love a B7 S4 with the 4.2L V8. I have a '04 A4 with a 1.8T that I'm currently trying to restore despite the fact it has 230,000 miles. I've been able to source some used parts super cheap, but mine was also missing so many LITTLE things.
Love Audis, got 4 of them (80 V6 Avant, A3 Nogaro Blue, A4 3.2 convertible Quattro and an A6 2.8 Quattro). Pre 2010 are pretty reliable if you take care of them, after that date they were cheap and I didn’t like them. Favourite is the A4, my gf prefers that to even a Porsche.
Also in addition, I followed a fun leather cleaning tip, as usual do a test spot. But using Soft Scrub (bleach free) cleaner does a really good job buffing out stains on leather. Acts like a fine polish with grit. Worked well on my old Camry DLX before I sold it. 👍
I loved mine - had the Avant variant in Nogaro Blue, but it broke my heat (and my bank account) keeping it on the road. The K03s like to detonate even if you are keeping well on top of the maintenance. They are forever popping EGT sensors. Boost leaks. Specialist tools for timing belt changes and not an easy job either. Had it for a few years, babied the crap out of it and it blew up the turbos a couple of weeks after I sold it on.
Seen this car posted for a while. Dude wouldn’t let go of it so bought a auto b5s4 with 79k to save. Looking for another car to buy let me know good luck with the build💪🏻🔥 2.7t twin turbo for the win❤️
One of the few Audis I like. (I dislike most of their models for being just fancy VWs made out of aluminium). It also brings back memories of playing Gran Turismo 2. This car was unbeatable, once upgraded, in a wide series of challenges. It had really superior cornering speeds and the 2.7 bi-turbo V6 just always had power.
I have 3 , 94 Cabriolet ( Green W/ Black top ) 1999 A8 Quattro Pearl White and a Black 2015 A7. All 3 run and are very dependable. Its about how you service and pay attention to the small details.
I would love an A6 with the 4.2 V8. Low mileage well maintained. Not an S6. Just an A6. Love that engine and midsize sedan. Great video as always. Thank you. And it looks like a bi-turbo 2.7 V6. But I’m not sure. That’s a ski bag in the back seat. Also, that wrinkly pattern on the passenger side of the hood, looks like there was some wet plastic sheeting that had sat there for quite a long time.
Best color B5S4 nagara blue ohhh so beautiful and in person on a wagon omg! My hero car hands down. It was to costly to be play with for me. Bought a 6 speed TL instead 🤣
Love love Audis , drive an A3 at the moment, used to have an A4 Avant (wagen) Tdi which was my favourite car (wish I still had it). It was the 1.9 B5 2002. It was also in my favourite colour which is dark green metallic.

Seen this car posted for a while. Dude wouldn’t let go of it so bought a auto b5s4 with 79k to save. Looking for another car to buy let me know good luck with the build💪🏻🔥 2.7t twin turbo for the win❤️
Looking Sweet... Well done, Appreciate it
Always loved this generation and color!💯
B8 RS5 for the win!
I love Audi so much😍
One of the few Audis I like.
Also, that wrinkly pattern on the passenger side of the hood, looks like there was some wet plastic sheeting that had sat there for quite a long time.
yes, its a 2,7 V6 bi turbo. Greetings from Germany 😄
I really hope you guys get to do an a4 b7 sometime those cars are amazing
