Agreed. Many possible sources, doubting its the darkhold. Could be whoever gave sinister Strange the third eye dream walked into 616 Strange (friend or foe?). Could be an evolution of power inherent to his role, which some comic book "experts" have suggested. Could be another entity entirely.
Other entities include Shumagora, a Celestial (maybe judging mankind), one of the many gods, a recruitment by the multiverse illuminati or avengers.
Okay, by the time Clea arrives, Strange has had time to deal with the third eye. It doesn't take place immediately after he screams on the street. I would imagine that growing a 3rd eye out of nowhere probably hurts. Clea showing up could take place a year from that point, or an hour, either way he's had time to adjust to the third eye. It isn't that complicated.

nonetheless, the third eye in Sinister Strange was "alive" separate of Sinister Strange being dead. The toll 616 Strange now pays is having the 3rd eye and whatever conciseness it brings into his mind. And yes, by the time we get to this final scene, time has passed and he's made peace with the burden of the third eye,
This film really shows how grief and trauma can justify, in one's mind, neglecting all else for a spark of happiness. truly one of the most heartbreaking of heroes turned villain.

I think mutants will be set up as an alternative universe (akin to the ultimate universe) leading into an Avengers vs X-Men movie where both fight to prevent their universe being destroyed by an incursion, leading into secret wars in battleworld and reforming the universe.

There’s no third eyed Wanda even in the comic. But in Strange’s story i believe his third eye is literally the “eye of agamotto”
Maybe the 3rd eye only happens to corrupted Sorcerers. Agatha and Wanda are using witch magic which might not mess with a witches eyes

It looks like they're setting up an incursion between 616/199999 and 838. After all Wanda was actually the one who left the major footprint by dream walking in 838, not Strange. I'd say Wanda's actions from the movie will lead to the next incursion, but Strange and Clea's mission may end up leading to a more wide scale series of incursions.
The Real Marvel Universe is Earth 616 while The Marvel Cinematic Universe is Earth 199999 and The Illuminati Universe is Earth 838. They are all proven to be all three different universes.

It was definitely relevant. In the mcu timeliness order loki happened right before what if and wandavision. So going by that we don't get scarlet witch if he who remains is still alive.

The original Secret Wars is the very first OFFICIAL Marvel crossover event and the series that introduced the Venom suit on Spiderman. Stop what you're doing, apologize to Dr Doom for what Hickman did to his character and go read the original Secret Wars because 2015 secret wars was hot garbage

i think Its a secret kind of war where only few knows, the war may take place in another dimension where normal people have no idea that there is a war, like what happened in the last 2 episodes of what if.
The battle between infinity ultron and the guardians of multiverse. Only the chosen members of the team GoM knows about that battle, the rest they have no idea
Believe it or not, but the title "Secret War" was picked because focus groups showed that children at the time of the original crossover responded most to the words "Secret" and "War". It was just marketing.

Multiverse War just sounds like a massive downgrade from secret war.
I believe that the first scene with the third eye is Dr. Strange getting it from his power upgrade. In the comics the third eye is a extension of the Eye Of Agimotto as it is from Agimotto that Dr Strange gets his magic. Agimotto made three Eye amulets. One of them is the Eye Of Agimotto of Wisdom aka Truth. As a Vishanti, Agamotto was able to channel his power into three unique artifacts. He fashioned them each after eyes. The first was the Eye of Power, the second was the Eye of Truth, and the third was the Eye of Prescience. Each one was imbued with Agamotto's power and his vision. Each time one of the "Eyes" are used Agimotto is aware of it. Despite his arrogance and sometimes cavalier attitude Earth -616 Dr. Strange showed wisdom in Dr. Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness that his other three variants did not have. The three amulet Eye Of Agimotto can only be used by a sorceror who has not been corrupted. The "Eye" of Agimoto amulets responds to only white mages, meaning evil mages cannot use it for nefarious purposes.
So why did the bad strange have it then?

Universes can have many origins, differend laws of physics, magic, talking animals etc.
In the same universe many timelines happen, when choices and decisions are made, time travel occurs, or random stuff just happens in a differend way.
So the TVA (from Loki) was preventing timelines (in one universe) from forming, so there were only one (sacred) timeline in which multiversal travel didn't exist. Every universe that had their own Kang and TVA were save from multiversal war. After events of Loki, multiversal incursion on Earth-616 is now possible, since there's noone supervising it.

Interestingly, what triggered the whole incursions storyline in the comics was Wolverine time travelling a bunch of times to kill Pym before he could create Ultron

They weren't in 2 universes at once. Both their bodies and souls were in 616.
The entire thing makes no sense.. Loki series delt with time.. this with the universes itself a universe has its own timelines, which is what we saw in endgame... And at the same time we have other universes around us with the same thing.. so we should be talking timeline and multiversal war... They are two different things.. seems like one avengers film should deal with the time thing and the other multivereses

The Dark Dimension is part of 616 universe. The dark dimension isn't a separate universe, it's the just on a different dimensional plane. If 616 goes so does all the realms of the gods etc. within that universre

The Multiversal War and incursions don't seem to be the same thing. HWR never suggested that the war occurred due to incrusions but due to his variants becoming antagnoistic towards each other. So unless he was just not talking about incursions and they were keeping it secret (no pun intended) for later, then I'm not so sure that incursions cause the multiversal war. Especially when you're suggesting that Strange v Strange was the start of the multiversal war when considering HWR was from ONE THOUSAND YEARS in the future.
I think it makes sense that Sinister Strange is dream walking but if Wanda destroyed the Darkhold in every universe, how could he still be doing it? Going to the top of his own worlds mountain and using the runes there maybe, if it happens to still be around?
The book may be destroyed in every universe but the runes may not so he could have still had it in his universe or he just memorized it

In the comic clea and strange have to save the dark dimension and dormammu so it makes sense they go there. I think the third eye implanting into doctor strange as a sorts of “sleeper cell” to sinister strange is to complicate. Over the years we’ve seen that marvel uses simple explanations for things. The third eye is meant to just represent strange and his leveled up power and effects from using the dark hold

I would like to 2nd that motion about the Sinister Strange somehow dreamwalking into that body. If you take a look at his goatee, it's noticeably different from what Dr. Strange's goatee usually looks like. Like, it just has a different look and feel to it for some reason...

The way Clea cut upon reality reminded me of The Subtle Knife from the His Dark Materials trilogy
It's more likely to be a Rick and Morty gag, where thats just a different Strange in the post-credits scene.
We have no reason to believe that isn't just a different strange who has always had a third eye experiencing things.

Doctor Strange 3 will happen way before Secret Wars. Wayyy before. We have alot of setting up to even get to the first part of any version of Secret Wars.

So in the 1st Dr Strange the ancient one reveals there is a multi verse. In Loki He who remains is reininging in the multiverse or is there only 1 universe, the 616? He got rid of all the other universes?
In the comics it's the Living Tribunal who keeps the multiverse in check. He wouldn't let 1 universe interfere with another.

I really think that we haven't seen the last of the 838 universe. I have a feeling that is going to be setup as the "ultimate" universe with the 616 being the main universe. This has the early makings of Secret Wars all over it. Even Reed makes mention of the universes "colliding" which is what happens in the third Secret Wars storyline. No doubt that Franklin Richards could recreate his dad in that universe.
I’m having a bit of trouble as if for example Tobey and Andrew look around 30 or 40 but there has only been all these time lines for maybe 2 weeks since Loki 😕

Didn't Sinister Strange get killed by getting impaled by a spike after falling from his Scantum. How would Sinister Strange then get to his Darkhold which is destroyed to dream-qalk into 616 Strange?
I believe it is 616 Strange who is now used to the third eye and can hide and unhide it at his will was approached by Clea in the credits scene because he caused an incursion.
exactly what i just wrote. Sinister Strange died falling on that spike. + darkhold was destroyed by Wanda across the multiverse so no dreamwalking.

fun fact: Sinister Strange and Supreme Strange both said "things got out of hand". However, Sinister Strange only said it in the trailer, and Supreme Strange was quoted by Reed Richards. Their Universes probably collided.

The Dark Dimension is not a separate universe. It's a separate Dimension in the MCU 616 universe. So an incursion in the Dark Dimension is an Incursion in the 616 universe.

Well that’s true and untrue. They was barely getting they feet wet after coming out of bankruptcy. They didn’t have this huge plan yet that early on. After it kept getting successful then they started tying stuff together. Now that they have a blueprint and years of now buildup stories and content it’s easier to roll everything out much faster. I mean they ain’t have Disney + not even 3 years ago.
