✔️ Thumb ↑- M I ↓- Thumb ↓
✔️Motion should mainly come from the twisting wrist.
✔️Don't use forearm motion much for this technique.
✔️Keep the motion as small as you can.
✔️Start off practicing one triplet per beat on the metronome, then double as you progress.

kc c Exactly! I think Abanico and Tremolo are easy to grasp almost right away, when played slowly. But to get them up to speed smoothly can take quite some time. So don’t get too frustrated or impatient. Let it naturally develop properly over weeks, or even months... But glad to hear it’s coming along! 👍🏼

That was informative; I heard a rock version of Malagueña Salerosa that I loved, and I had no idea that it was a traditional Mariachi song. Another channel mentioned “huapanga” Rhythm, which I learned uses the abanico technique. So to have any chance of doing this song justice, I felt like I had to know what these words meant. Thanks again!

Thank you! I play jarana, which is a small guitar from Veracruz, Mexico used in the Son Jarocho style. This tutorial is super helpful even on non -string guitars. Thank you for making it clear. Great video.

Yes that will take some practice I'm used fo a lot of fingerstyle so my aim will be to practice this everyday so I can be half as good as you haha

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the lesson! I think the Abanico is in the family of rasgueados, but sort of on its own, which is why I didn't call it a rasgueado lesson. When I think of rasgueado I think of something different. Thanks again for the input and hope I can continue to be of assistance!

Hi, glad you think it sounds nice! I’m playing an Hermanos Conde from Spain(Atocha location). It’s a little more high end. But honestly, you don’t need an expensive guitar to sound good. There’s some very nice guitars at all price ranges. Good luck man! 👍🏼

could be a useful video but you din't explain how the rest of fingers move after downstroke of the thumb. crucial mistake
Sorry if it wasn’t clear, but all they do after the third move(downstroke of the thrumb) is go back to the starting position. That should be obvious, once a movement/technique is finished, it goes back to starting position. Fingers curl back in.
