    My first metal earth build... Had tough time with the sides of the LM ascent module. Too much adjusting folds to fit caused breaks which I then had to fabricate, glue, etc. Found this video after starting build and learned that twisting the tabs makes for a tighter connection. Thanks for posting this.

      Hey Kirk,
      The Apollo CSM with LM is a hard first build and I'm glad my video helped you make it :) The Metal Earth Space collection is not the easiest to do but it has some of my favorite builds in it.
      Word on the street is the international space station is coming to Metal Earth. That will be an awesome build.
      Welcome to the hobby!

    Always wondered how to out the tabs on these things (I always thought they had to go on the inside lol) I know this is older but if you're still using this mat, please don't. You can loose a lot with that in the background as it makes it hard to see some times. I can't wait to get on this model though. Wife just bought it for my birthday. Great job!

    So cool! Grabbed the full set of NASA metal earth models. Wondering if I should make them now or in a year after I've moved so they don't ever break, haha. Was happy to see your assembly video as I've not done one before. Thanks!

    • @GrooveBuilders

      Making them now is super tempting and to be honest I would say go for it. There are many different ways to transport built models but you do need to be careful.
      Sounds like a good video idea 🤔 🙂
      Thanks for watching and I hope these videos help with your builds! The space models are some of my favorite.

    • @GrooveBuilders
      @GrooveBuilders  2 года назад

      Don’t be, it sucks but these things happen :)
      You can:
      Try to keep going. Depending on the break you may be able to connect the parts and it be ok.
      Use a UV glue to fix the part.
      Or finally contact Metal Earth. They will send you replacement parts and they are really good about it.
      Good luck with finishing this one it’s a favourite of mine. Also feel free to reach back if you need to

      First off welcome to the hobby! The Apollo CSM with LM is jumping head first in the deep end. Good job getting it done :)
      There are so many really great models to check out. I really like the Space models myself but the Game of the Thrones and Star Wars Series are a close second. What kind of things are you into?
      I find the most "fun" models tend to be tanks.

      No worries, if you look at the instructions you will see that A1 is a dark brownish? Colour. On sheet C you will see the other parts that you need in the same colour. This goes for other parts too with multiple pieces that need to be formed.

    As a first timer, with zero experience, I'm having a tough time. I like your video but may I suggest to have your camera focus on the pieces themselves? Its pretty hard to make out what youre doing because its so far and unfocused from the pieces as your working with them.

    I'm sorry to say this, but your camera SUCKS!!... it so out of focus, and the fact thay these are small pieces as it is, it makes it a bit more frustrating.
    That's says thanks for doing this tutorial.

  • @peterharoldjanakjr2078
    @peterharoldjanakjr2078 3 года назад

    This video could be better. I mean, there is no way you instantly and easily attached parts 1 and 2. I can't hold the parts together long enough to bend the tabs. Of which are also too small. Pieces got bent back and forth so much that hey broke at the perforations or etch lines. I threw it out after two.pieces broke. Bye, bye 25 bucks.

    • @GrooveBuilders
      @GrooveBuilders  3 года назад +1

      Hey Peter thanks for watching the video and giving me some feedback. I like to think my videos have changed over the years as I've made these but I'm always up to here some constructive criticism.
      This model is not easy especially if it's one of your first. For the first two parts I used part one as a guide to shape part two. Sometimes we can use other parts in the bill to help us shape difficult pieces. Sometimes you have to bend a little bit, match it up to where it's going to go and see what changes are needed to be made.
      Sometimes if the instructions say bend a tab when bringing two pieces together like our sides it won't stay together right away.. this is where temporarily twisting the tab comes into play. After when we connected more than one piece together we can go back untwist the tab and bend it down properly.
      These kits are a lot of fun and it's too bad your first one is starting you off on the wrong foot. If it helps Metal Earth is a great company that will gladly replace broken parts for you. Just give them a quick email :)
      If you need help with something specific, just let me know man I'll do my best to give you a hand.
      Thanks again for watching
