  • I bought this boat sight unseen. And shipped across the county 3000 miles to my house. Let's see what I got. Check out my new (used) Pro-Line 20' Walkaround fishing boat. It just arrived via Uship from across the country late last night. It's way dirtier than I expected. In the following videos you'll see me clean it up and use it.

I bought an '88 Proline Express. Got a dog deal on it because it was neglected/abused. Transom tubes rotted, leaves composted in gunnel. I expected the worst. But other than having to reglass aft deck corners in gunnel, total rewire, paint and hardware refitting, the boat was fine. Dry bilge despite neglect, transom rock solid, stringers solid as new. I know they built a good boat in '88. They're good project boats if you're not wanting to pull deck. If youre gonna pull the deck, find a Mako. Higher resale for the effort.

Very cool, I agree I like Pro-line boats. Since this video I've had the boat 2 seasons and she looks almost new. It came with some stress cracks in transom and gunnal and some beaching damage but other than that she shined up good. I've since replace the great running Mercury 2stroke with a Yamaha 150 fourstroke that is fuel injected. Good times. Do you have boat videos?

Beaching damage is subjective. Mine's been beached and will be beached a hundred more times, but the keel seems to be over 1-1/2" solid woven roving, so a nick here and there doesn't seem to worry me. One of the many luxuries of owning a used boat. Who cares about normal wear? The guys in the Gulf swear by those Yamahas.

looks like a lot of work i can't even imagine buying a boat sight unseen. I wonder how the stringers have held up.

+CAPT CALEB You should see her now. Looks like a new boat! After alot of work of course. Pro-Lines built after 96 don't use any wood in the boat. This ones a 2003 so there is no need to worry about the stringers.

How much did you pay before shipping? I'm in the market for same boat!
