A lot of boaties down here in aust mount the Lowrance/simrad ai3in1 transducer in reverse sikaflexed to the button of the hull if done properly it works really well. You can flip left right in the settings.

Redlyme is allso dissolving away metal (aluminium) oxidation. If you flush motor with fresh water (or with saltaway) it will flush away salt crystals inside motor water ways. If there is allready corrosion in aluminium fresh water (or saltaway) will not remove that. I hope that this explanation will help you to pic a right stuff for your engine flushing needs.

Also can you make a podcast about bunks replacements on 2001 Cobias because they are very heavy and the hall is very tricky to put wood on the transom area. Thank you sir

Huge THANK YOU for covering the question about the transducer. You where correct on it being an aluminum hull so for now I've got the transducer on a transom saver pad glued to the transom....figured that way I can make sure to find a spot that it works without putting holes in the transom. I did leave it pointed in the proper direction(pointed out back) but did test fit it backwards and it actually fit perfectly with no gaps but figured every wave I hit would smack transducer into bottom of hull plus did consider cavitation issues it could cause or the mount just not being strong enough without jb welding the top of transducer to bottom of hull.

I've triedreverse mounting this on my freshwater boat and it doesn't work. You don't catch much on side scan anyway when it comes to your outboards. When it comes speed you will never be able reliably read on a fish finder. A thru hull works better but still won't read. Your fish finders optimal reading speed is up to about 25mph. After that you will not read much other than a whale 😂 if you get returns at all. The amount of power you would need your transducer to put out to receive a return at high speed can't be created in a recreational setting.

Certain ones you can... Check in your settings if there's a choice for reverse mount.. then the mfd will read it properly.

My jackplate is set back enough that the transducer has a perfect line of sight
