LeBron not having that in his favor is the only reason they say they don't matter. In fact, they eliminate everything from the equation that doesn't favor LeBron. The nba was easier back then because lack of skill. Now you have players who can switch onto everybody and defend and shoot. Which means lebron plays in a era where it’s harder to win
I'm thankfully in from Chicago and was a Bulls fan in the '90s... So, people might say I'm obviously biased, but facts are still facts, numbers are still numbers. Not only is defense almost non existent in today's NBA compared to how it was played in the 90s, clearly making it easier to score today, but James has been playing for 20 years.... Yet, Jordan still has more MVPs, more scoring titles, more defensive teams, a higher point per game average, a higher steals per game average, an identical block per game average even though James is a much larger man, and Jordan was clearly a much better clutch player. James is also never won defensive player of the year where Jordan has, and James leads the NBA in having the highest turnovers in history. I'm not sure how somebody can consider him the GOAT or even in the GOAT debate when he's played for five more years in Jordan, has not surpassed him in any above mentioned stats, and has a highest turnovers of any basketball player in NBA history. That doesn't make any sense. That is not a complete player. That is a player that clearly has flaws. The only thing you can really say that might favor James is the fact that he is now the all-time leading scorer. Again though, he's been playing for 20 years, has amazing longevity, and has put up very steady numbers his entire career. Just because you've maintained very steady stats, have played for years, and I've taken care of your body, does not make you a GOAT in an sport. I love jordan, especially, because I was 12 in 98. Having grown up and lived a little longer has made appreciate every stage of nba history even the ones that came before my time. Bill russell and wilt made it a league in the 60s. The 70s is the dark era where the game almost disappeared because cocaine use is the legacy of the 70s. But bird and magic made the game national and border line continental. Jordan made it global. And kobe and lebron contributed a little more to make the nba close to soccer (soccer is still world's ahead) but basketball is close to a universal game. Jordan is the greatest ever and maybe the most important piece because no player was easier to market as Jordan.
The fact that lebron (at age 38) is scoring more and putting up better numbers these last 2 years than when he was younger and in his Prime and Peak... says all you need to know about how ridiculously EASY it is to put up stats in this NO DEFENSE league.
It’s called PEDS, allegedly. Everyone that got caught with PEDS, got better with age. Bonds, McGuire etc. no one gets better with age. When you see it, bets believe it’s aided feats of strength and endurance and not purely human as history shows. Allegedly.
Imagine watching him do it in a whole game... people only watch the highlights when they could watch whole games if they didn't grow up in that era! If they did they'd NEVER choose LeBron over MJ!
@@C_71 nah, highlights don't show the shots missed. i watched mj, and i still watch lebron. mj took more shots, but he also missed more shots. check the career stats, lebron is 50% and mj 49% FG. per 1k shots taken, bron will have more pts. mj had less than 1% higher winning %, so per 1k games played, mj won less than 10 more games than lebron (all most anyone will argue mj's teams were better, yet statistically they r about as close to even as you can get). i feel like they're both the best of the era they play(ed) in.
Michael Jordan became bigger than basketball after his second three-peat in the 90s. With five regular-season MVPs (only Abdul-Jabbar has won more, with six), six Finals MVPs (NBA record), and three NBA All-Star Game MVPs, Jordan is the most decorated player in NBA history. And the impact of Jordan is stamped in nba for ever

He literally grew up with Bron, they are friends going back to their AAU days. Hes always been bias as hell regarding Lebron, he doesn't even try to hide it.
LeBron doesn't even transend his own Era. Curry has had more of an impact on today's game than LeBron. Jordan had no equal in his Era. He was the NBA, and nobody disputed that.

Lebron played with more all stars than jordan and had to go to Miami to learn how to win. Jordan made his teammates better, bron needs his teammates to make him look good

Jordan made basketball popular and basketball made LeBron popular
This is why Mj will always be GOAT

The only argument Lebron fans have is 1) He got bounced out the NBA playoffs in the 80s, nevermind Boston had 5 HOFers and Detroit had 4.
2) He needed Pippen to win. The only All Star who didn’t need another All Star was Kawhi and Dirk. KD & Klay were hurt in that Toronto/GS Finals, so it was just Steph and Triple Single Draymond. Why did Dirk not need another All Star and led Dallas back from 2-0 in 2011? Lebron’s epic meltdown is why.
3) Lebron played in a more skilled era. Yet, the defense is some of the worse ever, especially big men and shotblocking. Anyone who has seen elite playground ball, knows it’s 75% offense, 25% defense. This is almost what the modern NBA has devolved to.

@@paranoia_xo This is exactly my point. You can play great and lose, but Lebron fans never ever say that about Mike, they use that to attempt to tarnish his legacy. Sorry I thought that included you. My apologies.
10 scoring titles. 9 1st all NBA defensive team. AaaaanD, HE RETURNED TWICE! Mike possibly would have won 8 straight in the modern NBA. Perk is the time of guy Jordan would've POSTERIZED!
Didn't even mention those dunk contest wins💯
1 key note, when Jordan went to Washington NOBODY BURNED HIS BULLS JERSEY 🤣
MJ had a worldwide impact when he played ... even to this day with his brand ! Imagine if he played today ... with the social medias covering everything or if we had social medias back then. Shit would go crazier than what it was
Man, do you know how brauds would’ve tried sleep wit that man in the process ✌🏿
I love your work brother. Great analysis and critique of two great players.
That is damning. If a player won the gap in accolades between MJ and LeBron, the would be a certified top 15 player of all time looking at those alone, top 10 if you rate man like Steph and KD highly.
Fellas the only way to win a game is to score the most points. This makes the scoring champion the G.O.A.T........
Why haven't Carl Malone, Ewing, Stockton, Barkley and others greats never won a title? MICHAEL JORDAN. Everybody who was decent beat lebron to win a title
"Rings don't matter." Damn the bar sure has shifted in the last 10 years...
If someone says rings don't matter then LeBron is padding stats.
I was waiting for the guy to speak. 😂
Imagine the only championship that lebron brought to the lakers was during the bubble😂
and imagine if he did not join wade and bosh in miami..🤷
Shaqtin' a fool legend even after retiring. That's commitment right there.
Shaqtin' the Freemasonic Fool, I like that.
Bill Russell had the greatest career ever if winning is important anymore. Times have changed. We judged greatness on team success, now no one cares about how your team does because if u lose they will say your team is trash instead of the best player taking accountability. Being the best now means throw everyone under the bus to save your own legacy if u have to.
Yea bro. Society has turned into trolling and faking your own knowledge levels. History books don't matter.. facts are twisted or ignored.
@@KaineTremaine yeah. Jordan got his props for the 3peat. No one cared about his stats lol
@@Quazey8 Jordan has the better stats regular season, playoffs and NBA Finals.
If LeBron had better stats, they'd get into every conversation
jordans accolades outside of championships far surpasses Lebron
Bill Russel was a great player but it was only 8 - 14 teams during his playing days in the NBA and no free agency, so he kept his entire team for that run.
What people don’t seem to understand is that Lebron grew the nba with the help of social media and advanced cable tv. Mike never had social media and even regular cable wasn’t widespread.
listening to perkins talk is like listening to air leak out of a tire
😂🤣😂 savage
It took Perkins years to learn that one new word.
I really don't think some of those commentators, like Perk or other LBJ supporters, should be allowed to speak their biased thoughts on air. They don't even sound like they watched MJ properly which should disqualify them as analysts on TV. Perkins just sounds dumb tbh. I just don't understand how lebron has the greatest career. just mindless. I mean would you honestly have Lebron's career or MJ's career with more rings, awards? To me it's no-brainer
In the last year, he learned the word synonymous 😂😂😂 Jock through and through
Putting Lebron James in an era were there are guys like Dennis Rodman, Pippen, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Dekimbe Motumbo, Shawn Kemp, Tim Duncan, Derrick Coleman, Clifford Robinson, Chris Webber, Larry Johnson, and Vin Baker, Shaquille O'neal. With this people guarding you and the way the game was played and officiated, It would be a long day each game for Lebron but for Michael Jordan it will be just another day in the office.
Not to mention Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Rick Mahorn. So many other physical players that would have made LBJ life just a little more difficult.
