Wow! I live in a good sized city in 🇨🇦 and we have nothing even close to that variety or cleanliness of store. Yet we have some of the highest food prices in the world.
What a cool store! It is like a mini-grocery store, bigger than a convenience store, but smaller than a supermarket. The size and scope reminds me of the grocery stores that used to exist in small towns and rural areas in the US (most of these have now closed.) The tidiness of the store was incredible, everything properly faced and nothing out of place.

This Magnolia store looks like a dream. Even the best stores in London such as M&S food would not be able to compete with such variety and quality. Every shelf looks well stocked and well presented. And there is that cosy feel of a convenience store with a range of products only found super-stores. In UK you can only get paper straws now which are so disguising that they fall apart before you can finish your drink and you end up using multiple quantities just for one drink, inevitably causing more harm than good. Classic UK hypocrisy. Waste more in the name of "green agenda".
If you want to pay about 5 times more for everything, go ahead, move to russia. Look at the exchange rates. The reason why things look "well stocked" is that russians can't afford them.
Thanks Russell for this. This store was excellent, clean and well stocked and as my Grannie used to say ‘It’s so clean your could eat your dinner off the floor’. Such an excellent range of foods, fruit and veg. There used to be a 24 hour store near to me but it ended up changing the hours to 6am till 10pm, so lucky folks living near to or close by this store. Thanks once again Russell and a big congratulations to the Manager and staff of this most excellent store. X
Thank you for sharing these videos. I live in South Carolina in the United States and this is the only way that we can see what it’s really like over there.❤❤❤
Very cool Store, I have been to moscow very often and my first thing i do there is run to the super market to buy my breakfast and snacks for my stay. I really love to eat out off a super market than going to restaurants for breakfast. I have never come across this store and i often observe that every supermarket is different from other since some are very small and have very few stuff in Moscow. Mongolia looks awesome for daily or weekly needs. Very neat store and organised fresh fruits. Would definitely visit and shop there. Would definitely go to store in Moscow
This Market is best I’ve seen, so clean very well organized! and everything you would want, gotta have some sweets and yes do more videos and so much to buy !
Russell, thanks for another video. This store puts our local California grocery stores to shame. Clean, organized, well stocked. Keep up the good work! We enjoy watching your videos!👍🏻

That's a great idea to have a supermarket on the first floor of apartment buildings. So convenient. This particular store does seem a bit like a convenience store, but it has a whole lot more product on the shelves. Thanks for the tour. Very interesting. It's almost midnight where I live and now I'm hungry watching the video. LOL!
actually that IS convenience store. There are lot of bigger supermarkets as well it Moscow - they are biggest in Europe actually. But most of people here don't like go far for foods. Most of people prefer go to local convineince stores instead.
I live in Taunton England, we no longer have any 24 hour supermarkets since the COVID scamdemic, our supermarkets like ASDA , Sainsbury's and the co-op are always low on stock and no longer able to get some items, the selection of coffee for example is very poor and very expensive, the shelving always looks in a right state there is NO pride at all , the Magnolia supermarket is how it should be, well done to the staff and management.
Hi Russel, YT asked me to rate your video and I selected they are informative , relaxing and comforting. Well to me they are. Your cheerful personality is a bonus for sure! Please keep up the good work. Oh and in 2023 I RARELY use the word "please" but with someone like you, it's suitable. I hope you have a awesome weekend 🎉✌☀
I looked for the market in internet and there is a market with the same name in the USA and the entry includes the website if a television network. Finally found the right website. Magnolia also allows online order and delivers the goods.
Dinnerware is still sold here in Ontario, Canada. For day to day shopping I'd prefer this store over the mega super stores. This sore feels very welcoming and not at all overwhelming. Here, our grocery store shelves are never filled up and neatly presented like that. We do have some 24 hour grocery stores and pharmacies.
Really enjoyed this video -- your new camera equipment was a great investment! To me, this well-stocked but human-scale grocery store is similar in size & assortment to the Migros and Coop supermarkets which are found all across Switzerland. There is more than enough variety, and the produce appears fresh. It doesn't overwhelm the customer by offering too many choices like a larger-scale American supermarket or European hypermarket. Sometimes less is more (at least I find I prefer supermarket shopping at Coop or Migros in Switzerland rather than the massive American supermarkets near to me on the East Coast US)
I loved this walk through!I noticed that there are many different Italian items that are useful to have, for a total Italian meal! Beer, wine, olive oil, tomato for sauce, pasta, pizza!I didn't see the original Parmigiano but I did see Nutella for the kids
I could really feel at home in that particular store, it is iny opinion the perfect size for shopping without the confusion of feeling overwhelmed with things you don't need, and it lacked nothing! I think there were too many Australian items that I didn't even know existed 😂 I thought they only had kangaroos😂
As an American I feel like I've been deceived like Russia was a not a desirable place to be. But your proving me wrong. Yeah I been lied to. Thanks Russell 😅
Wow. Well stocked store. Only thing close to that here is a Safeway but no where near the variety as that store in Moscow you visited. Paper plates, bowels et. Still available here for sale but on Maui they have done away with plastic shopping bags some years back. Don’t see any signs of sanctions there, only higher fuel prices here.😂Great video.

Really a very nice store. Big variety. Very convenient. There are so many different stores in Russia where you can buy food. From quick stop overs to supermarkets to hypermarkets to massive markets. The garden of the EU looks like more seeds sprouted over in big, massive, beautiful, well maintained Russia 😄. If Russia is a gas station with nukes then the EU must be a kindergarten with non functioning dry running gas stations. Now I also want to suffer like they suffer over there in communist poor Russia. I have never been to Russia (but hope to go one day soon). But my mother, one of my brothers, and many of my Swiss and French friends have visited, primarily Moscow & St. Petersburg. They all loved the food, both the variety and the quality. It is sad that Americans continue to perpetuate outdated stereotypes about Russian consumers, especially that somehow the food is unappetizing in RF. I would bet that almost any bread in Russia is superior to almost all bread in the US since most US bread is mass-produced with a lot of preservatives and dough conditioners. I wish all Russian shoppers a happy holiday season!

Beautiful store. And so much variety. There are no 24 hour supermarkets in Melbourne, Australia to my knowledge, maybe in the centre of the city. Service stations that open 24 hours sell a small selection of grocery items. But instead of bread for 30 to 50 US cents they charge $7 + for a loaf of bread in these places
In Perth it's the same, no 24/7 places other than a 7Eleven. The other good thing with a place like this the pricing is the same as a regular bigger format supermarket. So, there is no fear its more expensive because of the timing of the shop.

I live in a city of almost 400,000 people, which has always been very "forward-looking" when it comes to retail store trading hours - & even around 30 -35 years ago, regular retail stores were open for trading all day Saturday & Sunday, & supermarkets were often open till around 11pm in the evenings. These extended trading hours in our city were even way ahead of some much larger cities of 2 - 3 million people, where the stores at that time were still not open on Saturday afternoons or Sundays & there were no supermarkets open for late night trading. Unfortunately, during the recent restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, some of the supermarkets which were previously open until 11pm at night, started closing earlier, at around 9pm or 10pm - & even though the COVID-19 restrictions are no longer in force, the supermarkets have not extended their opening hours to what they were before the pandemic. So most supermarkets in my city are now closed by 10pm in the evenings. But I've not come across any supermarkets in my city that are open 24/7. I often pop into the main supermarket in the CBD of my city, on the way home from work, to purchase a few items - so by the time I get there, it's often around 7pm or a bit later. But the problem I usually find, with shopping at that time of the evening, is that a lot of the shelves are half empty by then & because of that the choices are sometimes limited & the items that I want are just not on the shelves &/or out of stock. So it always surprises me when I see supermarkets in Russia open 24/7, with such fully stocked shelves & scarcely an empty shelf in sight (like the supermarket in the above video). Of course I realise it was mentioned that the above video was filmed around 9am in the morning, which might explain why all the shelves are still so full. So I'm wondering if there could be a particular time of day that one might go to that supermarket, & find it has some empty/un-stocked shelves - just like the supermarket I go to in my home city. My city was also the first one in our country to completely ban the use/sale of light-weight single-use plastic shopping bags - like the ones that groceries used to be packed in at the supermarket check-outs. My city banned their use almost 10 years ago now - & we've managed just fine without them ever since then. As of more recently though, stores no longer sell plastic disposable cutlery (knives/forks/spoons etc) & crockery (plates & bowls etc). Instead, disposable cutlery & crockery now comes made out of recyclable materials such as paper/cardboard.
At night, the sections with some baked goods for snacking and food that is produced in the supermarket may be almost empty. Stores try to plan the volume of these goods so that they are completely gone by 22:00 + they make large additional discounts after 21:00 or 22:00. Still chilled fish is always removed from the ice shelves overnight (an employee in this department does not work at night). I saw empty shelves or refrigerators only in some cases, when the store moved out or made a reshuffle.
@@_charon6448 In some other cities within my country - & a number of years ago too - I know that some supermarkets used to heavily discount their fresh bread & bakery products towards the end of the day, If you went there towards closing time you could buy bread at really cheap prices - especially if you bought say - 4 or 5 loaves of bread together I guess they were trying to sell all their bakery products before the store closed for the day But now that supermarkets are open much longer hours - it's been very long time since I've seen such heavily discounted bread. But the shelves certainly do look quite empty of many bakery products, if one goes there just before closing time. These days I understand that whatever bakery products the supermarkets have left over at the end of the day - they are often donated to charitable organisations that run food banks & free meal kitchens around the city..

I am impressed by the wide assortment of yogurts in Russia. Lots of fruit options like at the Migros or Coop supermarkets in Switzerland. I don't like beer so that category is unfamiliar to me. I found it adorable the way it turns out Russell is almost a teetotaler, never mind that he sold liquor on board cruise ships in the "duty free" shop.
@@sergek2172 We are seeing more "kefir" type options in the US in the yogurt section. But I would trade the yogurt selection in France, Switzerland or Austria in a heartbeat for what I can buy in the US. For instance, in the US the "fromage frais" which is so commonplace in Europe had to be renamed "Greek yogurt" for marketing purposes. And "le fromage frais" including "petit suisse" format (smaller) simply taste better IMHO in Europe. Please state prices and quanities. I also would like to see tours of Globus and Ashan showing prices for western products clearly. Even if these things are expensive relative to the average income in Russia, it is still interesting to see what the same western products costs and at what price levels these stores still make enough of a profit to remain active in Russia under sanctions as sanctions may not apply to the food items themselves, they apply to corporate profits generated in Russia.

Hey, Russell, has it occurred to you that most soft drinks in any grocery store are not refrigerated because the customers place them in their fridge at home? Those that are store-cooled are there for immediate consumption. Has it also occurred to you that most customers in the West like their soft drinks cool regardless of the season? Use your noggin, man.
@@TravellingwithRussell When you say"most people", you're probably thinking of Russia. In the West, a room-temp SOFT drink is an abomination regardless of the season or the weather. When it's cold here, I'd rather get a hot coffee to take with me in the car, but when people go to fast food or other restaurants, it's a cold Coke/Pepsi/etc. with plenty of ice to boot - unless, of course, you order some wine.
Baring the butcher's counter and produce section, it's better stocked than any supermarket in South Korea including the poshest areas in Seoul. Prices for most items in Russia including imports are more affordable.
And think about it this way, these is really an everyday supermarket. I wanted to check this place out as it only just opened as a new location. Within walking distance there were 3 other markets like this from other chain store brands.

Is it really your stores are worst than russian stores in Russel's videos or you just complaining like most of commenters on the internet?

If you want to pay about 5 times more for everything, go ahead, move to russia. Look at the exchange rates. The reason why things look "well stocked" is that russians can't afford them.

Hi Russell from Canada 🇨🇦
What a nice well stocked and clean grocery store❤
Thanks so much. :))

That's a great idea to have a supermarket on the first floor of apartment buildings. So convenient. This particular store does seem a bit like a convenience store, but it has a whole lot more product on the shelves. Thanks for the tour. Very interesting.

20 years ago every Coles/ woolies used to be 24/7 , now they close 10 or 11pm.

It sounds like your area is very well serviced with stores, given the size of its population.

Why is it unhealthy Andrew?!?! You have that Law, like the rest of Europe that no harmful or bad ingredients are allowed or permitted into your foods there,, so how can it be so unhealthy like you say?
Thanks Russell for this. Magnolia store is very typical superrmarket
Magnolia markets are very nice-good selection, clean and organized.
They really are. I was surprised myself.
Hello Russell, first video of yours I've seen - and loved it! 7:40 - to answer your question, here in New York State, we still have disposable plasticware and paper plates. I believe that it's probably the same case for the rest of the US. Very surprised to hear that they banned it in Australia, interesting to learn little facts like that.
There is a chain of Eurospar stores in Moscow that are also very good !!!
I completely agree. ruclips.net/video/TTkrnTEnC3E/видео.html
very nice video sir I am from Indian. I love watching your video
I’ve never heard of this store before. Cool!
It was a very nice store.
In Krasnodar there is a chain of stores called Tabris and it's very look like Magnolia. The design of Magnolia inside is look like in Tabris too.
Maybe some artistic license was used to create the magnolia brand.
I hear you say a lot that you do not know about product types and brands. I think it would be great if you made a wife's and/or mother-in-law's choice video both in terms of their favorite stores and favorite products there and in terms of if we have to shop at the least familiar stores, what would we buy there.
Thank you Russel🙂Hello from Siberia🖐
I'd like to see a video about russian ecofood store VkusVill or about AzbukaVkusa and Miratorg, stores with exotic profucts from different countries. I don't think that it would be forbiden to film in there.
In accordance with the Constitution and Laws of Russia, everything that is openly presented in any public places can be freely filmed or photographed.

Hello from France Russell, thank you very much for all your videos !!! I was many times in Russia between 2012 and 2020...
I have a friend in Kirov who sell iPhones, he told me that the western products are now imported from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaïdjan and so on 😅!!! That's why there are so many western brands now in Russian shops despite the sanctions...
Right, you can already buy the iPhone 15 locally here. They were even taking pre order deposits for it the day apple held the launch.
why are the Russians proud to have products made or designed in the evil satanic west?
Russia launched an own smart phone, right? Why people dont buy this?
@@jerrylee4485I agree, but their latest smartphone, Yotaphone 2, was launched already in 2014... Now most of the Russians buy Chinese phones, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and also Meizu !
Maybe Google didn't want to work with Yotaphone because it's Russian?
Right but every time it passes hands through a middleman they get their cut and pass on the cost.
When there is a review of the two-floor "Pyaterochka" , she is located on the other side of the Moscow Oblast . route P-106
I live in Guam and Bundaberg made its way here too, looks good but haven't tried it yet.
Wow, so far from Australia. It seems like someone, somewhere is doing a great job exporting it.
I wanna see the Russian Equivalent of Costco or Sam's club...
If anyone EVER puts an onion in my drink, they better be prepared to instantly drink it and replace it with an onion free drink.
I must say that I was really quite amused by how happy this store makes you. Almost like a child, entering their favorite toy warehouse.
I lost track of how many times you said just how “nice and organized” it is. Also just enthusiastically beside yourself when you see things like tuna cans pointing in one direction. As well as being overwhelmed by pasta sauces 😆
I'm beginning to think you might be part owner or maybe have shares in this enterprise.🤔
Interesting video and positive vibes!
I'm curious about something.. I've heard people say things like stores and merchandise are like night and day differences if comparing large cities like Moscow and St Petersburg small town working class towns.
It would be interesting to see this.
Not just outskirts of Moscow.. Areas many km’s away from those big cities.
Anyway, thanks for the interesting content! Looking forward to what's to come
Oh wow, RUclips knows something, watched a train station review and after that this video get recommended, this store is literally 5 minutes walk from my apartment. From someone who has been using this store for years, it is super convenient to have such variety of stuff available 24/7 and on your commute route, but on other, stuff there is overpriced for 10-30% compared to other chains or even deliveries.
Great video Russell 👍like always. You need to make a trip to russian far east and share with us videos
I might have to do a live stream to raise a few rubles to fund the trip.
@@TravellingwithRussell so do it
In South Africa we have them, for take aways and for events
Thanks for commenting. I saw quite a few SA wines in this store also.
We have a Magnolia around the corner from where we're staying, and it's my favorite store.
I am just waiting now for one to come a bit close to where i live.
I might recognize that Magnolia store). Is that the one near the Kantemirosvkaya metro?
It was!!! Well spotted. !!
"В краю МАГНОЛИЙ плещет море,
Сидят мальчишки на заборе..."
Песенка такая была :)
Интересно, спасибо.
As ever it is quite interesting. In my little town in Canada it’s about half the size of that store that we have it’s called co-op and it’s one of the smaller co-ops nice to see your happy face
first time I see Magnolia shop
Nice, you get to see something unique on RUclips. :))
It has occurred to me on many occasions. Most people don't like cold drinks because most of the year its not warm enough outside.
@Travelling With Russell are there E numbers in Russian foods like ice cream? What are the ingredients? Are they all natural? What is your favourite coffee from the supermarket. Magnolia is a beautiful store.
In India, we dont get plastic bags but disposable cutleries is still available.
Thanks, I am surprised to see so many countries still selling them.
2:14 water & drinks
Too early for chocolate cake? Impossible! 😅 A very nice store!
