As a dietitian I love this video! Realistic goals, moderation and not being restrictive. There are not enough positive weight loss videos. Keep up the great work!
Jennnnn. I appreciate YOU so much! I'm so glad with your busy life that you continue to create content! I don't always comment, you knooooow - but I always watch and I love the friendship you give me! You're doing so well on your journey it's so motivating! you're 100% spot on about action coming before motivation! Woop!
My mentality about being watched at the gym changed as I realized that I wasn't looking at anyone else, so why would I think anyone is looking at me? Felt very freeing. And you're welcome to be my mom. I'm more than happy to be your 33 year old child. I see how you love your kids. Love me like that. =P
I think the way you're structuring your health journey is great! I don't even own a scale because I was number obsessed for years so I understand the trauma of dieting. I go by how I feel, how my clothes fit, and the numbers of my labs due to my many health issues.
From what I understand and have been told, increasing protein and doing strength training (lifting weights) helps you lose a lot of weight and then tone. And of course it fills you up. Protein and fiber are key. Super proud of you mom, lol, I love your videos and your outlook on life and just being very down to earth and realistic has been what really brings me back to your channel everytime. 😊
The way you talk about working out and nutrition is very empowering. Thank you for encouraging others to be confident, do what is right for themselves, and not worry what others think!
Thanks Mom, I needed that lol, ( I could be YOUR Mom) I stopped going to the gym because of Covid and need to get back there but I’m embarrassed. I love seeing what kinds of food your eating. Thanks for doing these videos.
Please don't be embarrassed. Some of those folks that go to the gym where likely worse off then you. I just can't believe your that bad to start with. We, us the people come in all shapes and sizes. Please don't be embarrassed about yourself. You are BEAUTIFUL.
Hi Jen👋🏼WOW, you really hit the nail on the head with this video! Three of the most effective words to getting anything done are Nike’s tagline “JUST DO IT”…and what you said in this video is spot-on! Motivation comes afterwards. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, and btw you have become my #1 RUclipsr! Sending much love 💕💕💕
11.5 lbs in 6 weeks is AWESOME! I know people like fast results, but your lifestyle change is sustainable. Also, if you lose slowly, it is harder to put the weight back on. Go Jen!
Thanks for sharing your journey, it really does help! My problem is that I *don't* eat. I have a tumor and, among other things, it affects my memory and hunger (I *never* feel hungry), so I have to remind myself to eat. Because of this, my body feels like it's being starved and holds on to *any* and *all* calories it does get, causing me to be overweight. I now set meal alarms and drink at least one protein drink a day and try to be as active as possible.
Congratulations on the weight loss. I always tell people that the number one biggest thing we can do is start watching calories. Simple little changes make the biggest difference. Movement helps, but weight is mostly made in the kitchen.
I love your videos. I've been following you for some time now. Congrats on your weight loss. You are doing so well on your weight loss journey.I'm a WW member and have lost 130 pounds over a two year period. Losing weight is hard, but if your have the right mindset and determination, it can be done. The first time I watched one of your videos, you did a grocery haul at a HyVee store. I knew you had to be a midwest gal. I live in Des Moines, so I'm familiar with different food brands (like AE dairy products). Keep up the great work. You really help to keep me motivated.
You’re just too lovely for words J!! right there with you on this health path and the motivation is much more present with that consistency - my journey has been hard work but super rewarding and just fab and stronger the longer it goes. Thanks for taking us along side you and for another awesome vid!
You are so inspiring!!!!! I’ve gotten to an age that peoples opinion don’t matter anymore. Your doing great and helping others that may not be sure about how to start or what to do!! Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Girl you and I are on the same life journey I swear! I’ve noticed that I’m finally comfortable in my plus size skin to not care about what people think in the gym anymore…I love the tip about watching RUclips at the gym to learn how to use machines! I have also been trying to think about how I feel after I workout…it’s like therapy and when I remember that it makes it easier to keep going
Thanks for the pep talk, Mom! I committed to Weight Watchers at the beginning of the year to shed the last 25 lbs in my journey. I seriously love your thoughts about sustainable weight loss and lifestyle changes. Congrats and keep kicking ass! ❤️
Loved the message about your weight loss journey . I find it challenging to find people of the same mind set as myself. .. hence the reason I follow your journey…I live a low carb life and have for about 7 years , Sustaining a 55 pound weight loss . Motivation is a life style and commitment . Good luck on your weight loss journey !
I definitely see the weight loss in your beautiful face!! Love your videos. I love how you said that we have every right to be at the gym as much as the next person. I use that statement many times when I get nervous in new situations like w starting a new job. Thank you for being you!😊
Congrats on 11.5lbs! It’s so refreshing to see realistic weight loss journeys like yours! I think so many of us think we have to strive for “perfection” or 100% “clean” eating for weight loss. I lost 50lbs 2020-2021, and I ate a little of everything (I even went out and enjoyed a drink sometimes!) It’s all about thinking balance and abundance, not restriction or limitation. 💚
Your weight loss journey is inspirational Jen. Thank you. I needed that pep talk too since I have been struggling with my own weight loss &stressed out with getting ready to move.
I found you through frugalfitmom. I love your videos because you are genuine and naturally funny. You don’t try to be funny. You just are. You stay true to yourself throughout your videos. That’s important.
Jen, Congratulations on your progress, you have to do what works for you. Like you, I’ve dabbled in the multiple weight loss “groups”. My doctor has made some suggestions, however, she agreed that I don’t consume a lot of food, but I don’t follow any routine. So I’ve started eating at normal times and giving up the after dinner snacks. I’ll see how that works.🤪
Love this video and so proud of you! I’m on a weight loss journey myself right now. I just had a scan that showed my liver fatty and inflamed so I have to start doing better! 💖
Thank you so much for the motivation information. That actually makes so much sense and makes me feel a bit better about why i've been waiting so long for the motivation to magically appear lol. You're awesome and I love watching all of your videos!
Well done, you’re doing awesome! And your spot on with what you say about the calories. Why cut down to the bare minimum calories only to find yourself hungry and then end up eating more. You’re doing it the right way, slow gradual weight loss is also better and you want something you can sustain. Keep up the good work and btw, your hair is gorgeous, love the colour 🥰
Hi Jen, I just watched a few of your videos to catch up lol. My daughter and I love you. You are very relatable and real and love your content. Have a great day 😊
I think adding extra protein to your diet is the right way to go and not denying yourself a treat every once in a while. Repetition is the best way to form a habit.
I absolutely love these videos, they have really been helping me stay on track for my health goals. I like how reasonable and balanced you are. Not obsessed with cutting as many calories as possible or only eating certain foods, just making good choices while also letting yourself eat the foods you still enjoy in moderation. Idk something about these videos just hits right!
Jen! I have been watching your videos for a couple of years now and I LOVE YOU! ❤ you give such good ideas for me and my family! In 2022 I was my heaviest weight ever, and by the end I lost 57lbs! Now I have you to motivate me even further! Love you, and good luck!
Any Kind of movement is better than no movement! You did great! But to be honest, most people are just caring about themselfs in the gym and coulnt care less about you. Do your thing! You motivate All of us aswell! Love from germany
I recently lost 90 pounds. Started at my highest weight ever 340. I was never overweight as a child and teen but gained a lot after having a lot of back to back surgeries in my early 20s. Was going to get a gastric sleeve but decided not to after they said I would only lose 70 pounds. I had already had 5 back surgeries and I didn’t think another surgery was worth it and decided to try it on my own. I had a slow start - I am diabetic and was addicted to sugar soda (Fanta is my kryptonite) and landed in the hospital with keto acidosis. That scared me enough to quit the soda and the weight just started falling off. That doctor who wanted to give me the gastric bypass told me I wouldn’t be able to lose the weight on my own but I did. I have a hiatal hernia right now which makes me nauseous a lot so that also helped. I also left a job I was miserable at and when I was there I was constantly snacking on something. Now they want to fix my hernia and I’m scared I’m gonna gain weight because I can’t do much exercise due to my back (I’m disabled and can’t work) and have neuropathy in my legs but I do what I can. It took about 4 years for me to drop the weight so it doesn’t happen overnight. If any of you are on a weight loss journey don’t be hard on yourself. Keep up what you can and don’t be afraid to treat yourself once in awhile. I don’t count calories. I did for awhile but it made me crazy. I’m a very picky eater (I eat like a toddler haha) so I just focus on eating what I want but a smaller portion. I try not to snack but if I do I try do snack on something beneficial like a cheese stick (protein like Jen said is your friend) You can do anything. Just don’t give up. Remember it isn’t a diet. It’s a lifestyle change. I believe in you! Keep up the good work. Haha thanks for coming to my TED talk. 😂
Kitchen scale is key for me. It sucks but keeping track that meticulously is the only way I can do it successfully. I measure whatever out and put the rest away before I eat it. Especially for snacks so I know I can eat all of what I measured without guilt. Ultimately I'm never hungry and I'm having fun learning all kinds of new healthy recipes. Down 25 pounds over 4 months.
Hey Jen just want to say go you! Love watching you those that are negative aren’t worth listening to.been watching you for a few years and really love all your content
Congratulations Jen! You are inspiring us all. After a long day of teaching , then coming home to cook, clean up and tidy after my family, I really want to crash on the sofa and read a book until bedtime. Then one of your videos pops up and you are so busy yet still getting a workout in. It motivates me to get some activity in my day and I always feel better afterwards. Thank you for keeping us company, love from Toronto, Margaret
19:55 thanks for the motivation Jen. I’m on a weight loss journey as well. I started in October and have lost 13 pounds during the holiday. It is really hard but I need my bp lower and diet and exercise seem to be the key. Keep up the great work and I’m on the journey with you!😊
I recently started watching your channel. And I have to say, your honesty is refreshing. I’m trying to get healthier as well. Thanks for all your hard work in making these videos and for taking us along on your health journey.

Agreed, but using calorie density vs carbs, fats and proteins a person can eat a ton of food for 1200 calories while consuming enough variety of foods to fully get a lot of vitamins, minerals and fiber.
Hey Jen! I’m trying to lose also, by cutting calories and increasing protein, etc. Are you using any particular resource to given you guidelines for food choices? Care to share? Thanks as always for the great video and CONGRATS on the weight loss.
You’ve always been my mom 🤪

What about the sauerkraut on the Reuben??? That's the best part 😂
Oh just saw at the end you forgot!
Happy to hear you discuss a healthy lifestyle (nutrition and exercise) instead of a fad diet! Thanks for the motivation 😁
Hey Jen just want to say go you! Love watching you those that are negative aren’t worth listening to.been watching you for a few years and really love all your content
When I started watching you in 2019 I was on keto. So unsustainable for me. Great take on non restrictive eating habits 👏🏼

We all need a good pep talk! Just starting the video can’t wait to hear it! Month 5 for me, I’ve lost 45 and would like another 25.

Congrats Jen on ur weight loss good for u !! 🎉🎈👍
Hi, is that protein thick? I can't do thick yogurt and I hate both cottage cheese and avocado. I have a lot of food aversions and even more after GB.
I recently started watching your channel. And I have to say, your honesty is refreshing. I’m trying to get healthier as well. Thanks for all your hard work in making these videos and for taking us along on your health journey.
Great job on your workouts and meals! It's helpful for me to focus on eating more protein too. 🧀
Congratulations on losing 11.5 lbs. So proud of you, mom. Lol.

I love your outlook on things ! 😊
You're actually like my RN mom lol. Proud of you Jen!
I'm still trying to get rid of pop. The ultimate struggle for me. I do drink tons of water but still love my pop and not diet.. 🤦🏼♀️ it's the one thing I've always struggled with. I need to figure it out one of these days.. sooner than later hopefully.
Way to go Jen you are a big inspiration
Hey Jen, I just noticed your braces, the clear brackets look good. I’m getting braces in April due to grinding and I have an extreme overbite. My orthodontist says the clear ones can pop off easier then the metal ones. Have you had any issues with them? Thanks
Thank you for being an inspiration for me. I need to lose 85 lbs. so here goes
You're doing good! :) Love your make-up. Are you using something new?
Thanks, Jen! 😊
Great advice 💪🚶♀️🏋♀️
Congratulations on your weight loss what is a snack that you eat that filling

Great job on your weight loss!
