His name is Geoff Castellucci and he is insane. He just released a Beatles tribute "Blackbird" where he sings all the parts. It's amazing. Highs and low lows. All together.
The bass with the amazing range is Geoff Castelucci. He’s friends with Tim Foust from Home Free and they are both beasts with incredible ranges. The range at the end of the song was about 4 1/2 octaves.
You should add these Voiceplay songs to your list: "boy bands in five minutes, little mermaid medley, moana medley, queen in five minutes, Disney heros medley, Disney villain medley, Disney sidekick medley, can't help falling, in love, blackbird cover, bare necessities cover, phantom of the opera cover!" You rock 🤘🤙
@@nightspicer Geoff released "Headless Horesman" yesterday... not sure about Lowest, but probably the Most Bass. The main part of the song is bass, with chorus (by Geoff, Geoff, and Geoff) the only higher parts.
In my opinion Geoff Castelucci of Voiceplay, Tim Foust of Home Free, and Avi Kaplan formerly of Pentatonix are 3 of the most incredible vocalists ever. Not only for the low lows but for their extremely wide range and the vocal agility and control that they have shown over and over.
Oh, I have been waiting for this one. And, you did not disappoint. I loved your expressions while watching this. I am SO glad that you noticed, and made comment, on that super low note in the middle of the song. It was just a quick little thing that Geoff did, and it goes unnoticed most of the time, but it's just as impressive as that end note if you're listening to it. So, good ear, and thank you for paying such close attention to the song. The lead singer in the song is Geoff Castellucci. You are right that he is the bass for Voiceplay. He covers, I believe, either a 4 or a 5 octave range with his voice, and is able to slip between them with complete ease. The man is amazing, and, from all I've seen of him, SUCH a nice guy, too. He has an instructional series out where he helps people find their natural range, helps them to sing at a lower register, and, I'm sure, many other things I haven't seen yet. Suggestions for what to watch next from Voiceplay? Just about anything they've done is pretty great, but MY favorites are Tennessee Whiskey, I Will Survive, and any of their Disney medleys. Geoff doesn't really feature in many of those, but he's always great. I have never been to a concert, to answer your question from the start of the video. I have never had the opportunity to attend one. Be that either from lack of funds when a concert I wanted to see came around, lack of transportation to get to where said concert was located, or not having the time due to work to attend a concert, I just have never been able to . Great reaction, and I can't wait to see which song you choose next.
Try being a bass singer with a 4 octave range, who cannot sing as low or high... I hide under the porch when Geoff sings, lol. In all seriousness, he is something special that's rarely seen. Tim of Home Free and Avi Kaplan have similar ranges to Geoff, but they just don't quite have the magic, so to speak.
Geoff Castellucci is the bass who happens to be singing lead this time. He does have an impossible range. He also arranges much of their music. it's not a halloween song but you might want to give their "Moana Melody VoicePlay" a listen too. Oh and "Warriors VoicePlay" is pretty good. He just put out a new one yesterday, "The Headless Horseman | Bass Singer Cover"
6:23 that laugh lol genuine as they come. Geoff's tone is my favorite out of the bass vocalists I've heard so far, followed by Tim and Avi. Having said that i want to keep listening to all of them. I believe Tim probably has the lowest chest bass notes. Each sounds different enough that i don't feel like they are mimicking the other.
All great recommendations. And since it's October the timing is perfect for 'Grim Grinning Ghosts'. Any of the songs they sang with Rachel Potter are great, but I still prefer the Moana Medley over the Little Mermaid. And of course seeing Home Free & Voiceplay together is a real treat.
I may be a little partial to Grim Grinning Ghosts. lolol In case anyone may not be familiar, it is the attraction theme song for Disney's Haunted Mansion.
Voiceplay is a more fun acapella group for me. There are a lot of their songs/covers that I really like. Try their The Little Mermaid medley and Queen medley, they're awesomely fun. And you can listen to other members of the group taking more parts on the song other than Geoff. Nice reaction as always Schnell. Cheers!! 😊
Yes! Not enough reactions to this one. This is a collaboration with about 20 other singers so it's not the best choice to get to hear the members of Voiceplay, but a great chance to hear many great singers. (Some you may know!) Turn on captions, they tell you a bit about each singer...
I have two favorite concerts for different reasons. The first one was Zac Brown band in San diego. There was a huge storm that night and it was raining during the show... the thunder and lightning started during The Devil Went Down To Georgia and it was just the most epic thing I think I've ever seen or heard. My second favorite was seeing Sublime With Rome also in San Diego. They just killed every song, everyone was singing along, and it was just so fun. Not to mention the strong scent of MJ from the lawn seats.. it was just a good time with everyone having fun.
This is Halloween, Queen in 5 minutes, The Little Mermaid Medley, Phantom of the Opera, and Can't Help Falling In Love are all fantastic videos by Voiceplay that I'd recommend reacting to! There are a lot of other good ones too, those are just the ones that come to mind first.
I love watching people react to this song, especially if they don't yet know Voiceplay, or Geoff specifically! So awesome that you caught so many of the little things that can be missed often. I second many of the suggestions done below, but if you want to get a good feel for some of the other guys' voices, most of the medley's highlight everyone, but their Tennesse Whiskey highlights two of them really well, and Boy Bands In 5 Minutes is great to get a good feel for all of them in different ways, plus it's a ton of fun, if you haven't watched either of them. What a fun reaction, and to answer your question, my absolute favorite concert I've had the chance to go to is a little tough, I've been to some good ones, but probably seeing AFI at Red Rocks was a highlight for sure.
I have listened to many reactions to this song. You are the FIRST person to catch Geoff's low run in the background in the middle of the song right after the line "to add a little spice". Which for the record is sung by the beatboxer.
I just love Geoff, he has his own channel too, give that one a listen- although I like all covers of voice play... My favorite concert was one of a German acapella group names Maybebop (btw I live their "Erlkönig" or "Festung" of you wanna listen to them too). It was not only totally captivating, but also extremely well done, washed me through all the emotions and I even had the chance to sing with them on stage. It was definitely one of the best memories I made in concert rooms!
Well, I haven't been to 18 Home Free concerts in 8 different countries for no reason :) My favourite one is hard to pick, but I'm going to say Stockholm, both 2018 and earlier this year, are both on my top 5, as well as Belgium earlier this year, Prague in 2018 and I'm going to say London 2018. :) Thanks for a great reaction and while I'm a tenor loving girl myself those bass guys with those insane ranges are just mind-boggeling!
One of my favorite covers from them is "Daddy Sang Bass" by Johnny Cash. Geoff is just amazing in it, fits well. VoicePlay feels more playful than a lot of other groups, and they do a variety of styles and songs.
Yeah! After I've seen a whole lot of reactions to this great song/video, you are the first one who noticed the short low part in the background in the middle of the song. Great ^^
Welcome to Voiceplay! Geoff is the bass and has a crazy range. Also the other members are very talented as well. Please check out their Moana Medley, their new Little Mermaid Medley and their Scars to your beautiful/All time low mashup. They are very good! Keep these acapella reactions coming!
Favorite concert: U2 in San Diego during the Joshua Tree tour. It was so amazing. Everyone was on their feet the whole time and most everyone sang every song with the band. So memorable.
I haven't seen many concerts but the clear best have to be Dimash's concert last year in Riga 🥰 It really was something magical. The whole experience was so amazing, Dimash of course was something else but so were the Dears! I can't believe how kind and helpful everybody were 😊
The last note is insane. So much punch considering how low it is. Geoff is an inspiration and his tutorials are really useful for anyone that wants to sing lower.
Dear Schnell, as a typical woman I LOVE PINK so thank you for that. Also, in case you didn't see my comment yesterday THANK YOU for the shout out during Dimash's Across Endless Dimensions. I have heard this but this is one band I am not familiar with YET. However, PLEASE react to Peter Hollens & Tim Foust Misty Mountains. Peter Hollens is a one man layering Acapella "GROUP" but he also sings with others. Last note from Tim again SPECIAL just like here. Peter also sings Amazing Grace with Home Free. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓
Personally, I haven't seen many concerts, but the one that stands out is "The American Peddlers". They performed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, when I was in training back in the 80s. I recently found Voiceplay, myself, and have been amazed by what I've heard so far. Geoff's vocal range is not human!😉 I would recommend "Grim, Grinning Ghosts", "This Is Halloween", and Geoff's "solo", "The Headless Horseman".
Favorite concert was a New Years Eve concert of the Genitorturers (somewhere in the early 2000's). Hanzel und Gretle opened for them. Not only was the stage show incredible, it was the first time I had ever heard Ich Ben Uber Alles or SS Deathstar Super Galactik. Came as a fan of Genitorturers, left a fan of them and Hanzel und Gretle.
Been to 2 Casting Crown concerts in Davenport, IA and they were both powerful and amazing. The humility of the artists is so incredible, definitely not your standard. I've also been to 2 Home Free concerts, first one I enjoyed the most was at the Morrison County Fair. Home Free concerts are just tons of fun and equally flooring to listen to, when they start touring again I highly recommend.
The lead vocalist on this song is Geoff Castellucci and you're correct about his being the bass singer of this group He's also got a few videos of his own where he's singing all the parts, as he's got a 5 octave vocal range
I heard Geoff Castelucci first in October doing the Monster Mash, then My Mother Told Me with all of Voiceplay plus Jose Rosario, Jr, then Hoist the Colors also with Jose Rosario. I need my fix every day now. Blackbird, Man in the Mirror, Queen in 5 Minutes, Grim Grinning Ghosts, Tennessee Whiskey, Sixteen Tons, Poor Unfortunate Souls, Friends on the Other Side. They do not disappoint.
Favorite concert: R5 Sometime Last Night Tour in Kettering, Ohio. I was front row, no barricade right in front of the speaker between Ross and Riker Lynch so one or the other (and occasionally Rocky) was in front of me much of the show. It was an incredible spot. This cover related: I love watching people experience Geoff and VoicePlay for the first time. 😂 Did you notice the subtitles at the end? Lower, even lower, subterranean. They have some fun tidbits like that sprinkled into their subtitles now and then.
Welcome to the Experience known as Geoff Castellucci and VoicePlay. 😁 Geoff has been a bass but he did take some jobs at certain theme parks EARLY on where he had to sing in the upper ranges and that just added this his MASSIVE range!
The lead singer is Geoff Casstelucci and yes he is the bassist of the group. His range is insane!! I would high recommend checking out his cover of “blackbird” by the Beatles he recently put out!! It will blow your mind!!
Geoff Castellucci, the Bass, also just released a video on his own channel called “The Headless Horseman.” Spooky fun. Voiceplay has so many videos worth watching. They do a great version of “This Is Halloween.” Best concert? I was at a Depeche Mode concert when one song in, videos in the background, lights flashing and suddenly the power went out onstage. After a short while they were able to get up enough electricity, so the mics worked and they could play their instruments. And then it was just us, the band, and the music. No fancy, showy distractions. It was fantastic and rather special. Of course their other concerts I went to rocked as well!
There is a clip of a live performance of this you need to look up. Also "can't help falling in love" is a good one, and to me, "Tennessee Whiskey" cover by this group is really good.
Late 70's. In an ice arena in Marquette Michigan. It started with local bands, then regional bands. After about 5 bands then Cheap Trick played to open up for Foreigner who opened up for the Red River band. The concert was about 6 hrs long. Cheap Trick stole the show, but Foreigner was awesome too.
I got to see Foreigner and Styx go on tour and they had Don Felder from the Eagles open for them. At the end, they all came out together and and Hotel California.
Went to Stevie Ray Vaughn in 86. The show was amazing and afterward he sat on tour bus steps for 3 hours talking with fans. The tour manager had to force him to leave.
Yes they are also a great a capella group I like very much "Moana medley", "Cheerleader", and "I knew you were trouble" from them, among other great songs Geoff the base and Layne the beatboxer are awesome! See you in the next one ;D
My favorite concert was Sara Evans. My wife and I had one of her songs as our 1st dance at our wedding and we went to see Sara Evans at a local minor league teams field. Great show.
The lead singer with heights and depths is one singer - Geoff Castellucci. ... There is a technique for learning at great depths that can be learned. And the microphone has a powerful effect.
My favourite concert of all time was Metallica during their _Garage Remains the Same Tour_ on 19 November 1999 at the Velodrom in Berlin, Germany. It was one of only two concerts they played with full orchestration outside the _S&M_ recording show. For that reason alone the trip from Dublin to Berlin was absolutely worth it.
My favorite concert was a stripped down, bare bones Paula Cole concert. It was in a barn converted to an intimate venue with church pews for seats, in Nashville. Just her and a piano. Emotional, raw and powerful. Top Voiceplay suggestions: Moana Medley and Queen in 5 Minutes.
Thanks for this reaction. The low note at the end of this song is an E1. For a D1, listen to him in "Monster Mash" (where he mentions the Wolfman's SON). Cheers.
a while back, I think it was just after the sing off season 4 when Geoff, Tim (from home free) and Avi (from Pentatonix) all got together and exchanged techniques from lower singing. They all claimed to have benefited greatly from the time together. I also saw a video that Geoff made about singing low where he claimed to consider himself a baritone. He says he is more comfortable singing in the third and fourth octave than the first and second. In this song he covers from E1 to Bb4. I have to admit very few self respecting bass sings would sing a Bb4, so maybe he really is a baritone. get reaction Schnell, my favorite concert hmmm I have to pick two Crosby, Stills and Nash and Jimmy Buffet.
My favorite concert was Disturbed. As far as other Voiceplay videos, people have said Moana and Little Mermaid medley, but also their cover of Phantom of the Opera is awesome
You're about to go down your third acapella rabbit hole. Have fun. They have a big catalog. Geoff hits an E1 at the end of this. He also hits an E1 in his solo (multitracked) cover of Paul McCartney's "Blackbird" which was just released a week or two ago. I've read that he hits a D1 (hidden underneath a D2) in the Little Mermaid medley, but it's difficult for me to detect. The lower edge of my hearing range only goes down to about E1. If you want to hear the whole group do solos in turn, in their normal singing voices instead of character voices, try "Can't Help Falling in Love." Earl Eakins Jr., the big High Tenor, recently left the group. So between that and the quarantine, they've been doing vids with either actress Rachel Potter or a male guest from one of the other groups in that fifth spot, some of them done from home and virtually blended together. Plus Geoff's other multitrack stuff, such as "Bare Necessities" from Jungle Book.
One of my favorites is their Moana Medley. Geoff does have a few nice moments in that one, and their friend Rachel’s voice was made for Disney princesses.
I have found a new hobby of watching people react to Geoff's E1 note. Everyone is just so shocked and excited about out and it's fun to watch.
It's even better when they react to the low in the middle (the "I'm drowning in my tears") and ur like... *munches popcorn* wait, waiiiiit

Sweetheart I would love to hear your reaction to Voiceplays "Warriors" from imagine dragons. Their harmonies are fantastic.
Please react to Voiceplay's Little Mermaid Medley. It is amazing!!!
I saw Merle Haggard and Bob Dylan at the Pantages theater in Los Angeles...what a show!
Peter Hollens (loop acapella singer) and Tim Faust (bass from Home Free): Misty Mountains from The Hobbit.
geoff castellucci was the lead in this song and is the bass of the group. the last note was in a subharmonic register
Daddy Sang Bass was the first Voiceplay I heard and I fell in love with The group and Geoff's voice.
YOU: "Hello beautiful humans."
ME: [Looks over both shoulders and points to self questioningly.]
I really love Queen in 5 minutes. It shows off all of their talents well
Yes, Geoff is the high notes AND the low notes. He's an angel sent to earth.
try zombies vs hillbillys its Voiceplay and Home Free in the same video
The lead vocalist on this song is Geoff Castellucci and you're correct about his being the bass singer of this group
He's also got a few videos of his own where he's singing all the parts, as he's got a 5 octave vocal range
Voiceplay's "Moana Medley" featuring Rachel Potter is absolutely stellar.
You'll love it.
My favorite as well. Can't believe nobody mentions it. Except for you...
My favorite concert was actually when I saw Pentatonix! They are amazing live. I hope to see VoicePlay live one day too
I heard Geoff Castelucci first in October doing the Monster Mash, then My Mother Told Me with all of Voiceplay plus Jose Rosario, Jr, then Hoist the Colors also with Jose Rosario.
He sounded like a contra-bass saxophone. That was wild. What a range.
Five Octave range, baby. That’s Geoff’s awe inspiring skill for ya.
Geoff Castellucci, the Bass, also just released a video on his own channel called “The Headless Horseman.” Spooky fun. Voiceplay has so many videos worth watching. They do a great version of “This Is Halloween.”
Best concert? I was at a Depeche Mode concert when one song in, videos in the background, lights flashing and suddenly the power went out onstage. After a short while they were able to get up enough electricity, so the mics worked and they could play their instruments. And then it was just us, the band, and the music. No fancy, showy distractions. It was fantastic and rather special. Of course their other concerts I went to rocked as well!
There is a clip of a live performance of this you need to look up. Also "can't help falling in love" is a good one, and to me, "Tennessee Whiskey" cover by this group is really good.
I've watched different reactions to this and you're the only one who noticed that low note, thank you 😂😂
Favorite concert was Stevie Ray Vaughn back in 1982. Ears rang for 3 days.
Kansas reunion tour. They were fantastic live!!!!
Schnell at 4:08 "Did you hear that low note?!" me "oh darlin' just wait". Best Concert... Van Halen 1984 tour, Birmingham Civic Center
I got to see Foreigner and Styx go on tour and they had Don Felder from the Eagles open for them. At the end, they all came out together and and Hotel California.
Garth Brooks is great live. Seen him 3x. Hoping to see Home Free live this year in Nashville.
Also some more I just remembered to are voiceplay's version of "grim grinning ghost, This is Halloween cover from the Nightmare before Christmas!!"
Favorite Concert ... As a Country Music fan, Reba McEntire in Worcester Ma. in the mid '90s.
Geoff is a 5 octave singer, and he is very comfortable in ANY octave. The note at the end was an E1 if you haven't been told. Awesome video/Post.
Went to Stevie Ray Vaughn in 86.
The show was amazing and afterward he sat on tour bus steps for 3 hours talking with fans.
The tour manager had to force him to leave.
Yes they are also a great a capella group
I like very much "Moana medley", "Cheerleader", and "I knew you were trouble" from them, among other great songs
Geoff the base and Layne the beatboxer are awesome!
See you in the next one ;D
My favorite concert was Sara Evans. My wife and I had one of her songs as our 1st dance at our wedding and we went to see Sara Evans at a local minor league teams field. Great show.
The lead is Geoff castelucci not sure how to spell his last name but he is ridiculously good. He can sing high too, he has a hell of a range
Favorite concert.. I went to Pink Floyd's Pulse concert in San Diego in 1994.
mMy favorite concert has been HOME FREE
My favorite concert was a stripped down, bare bones Paula Cole concert. It was in a barn converted to an intimate venue with church pews for seats, in Nashville. Just her and a piano. Emotional, raw and powerful. Top Voiceplay suggestions: Moana Medley and Queen in 5 Minutes.
Thanks for this reaction. The low note at the end of this song is an E1. For a D1, listen to him in "Monster Mash" (where he mentions the Wolfman's SON). Cheers.
Favorite concert wothout a doubt has to be my first, The Cheetah Girls. It was amazing
a while back, I think it was just after the sing off season 4 when Geoff, Tim (from home free) and Avi (from Pentatonix) all got together and exchanged techniques from lower singing.
Best concert, hands down, was Hozier back in 2015. Absolutely amazing.
You are the 2nd reactor (out of 15) that has caught the low note run that Geoff does it's an awesome run!
Favorite concert I've been to: Tommy Emmanuel, the world's greatest acoustic guitarist, at the Birchmere outside Washington DC.
My favorite concert was Disturbed. As far as other Voiceplay videos, people have said Moana and Little Mermaid medley, but also their cover of Phantom of the Opera is awesome
If you want to see a good representation of Geoff's range watch his solo cover of 16 Tons
Old school....ZZTop. Took my 16 yr old son to this as his first concert.
If you want to hear the whole group do solos in turn, in their normal singing voices instead of character voices, try "Can't Help Falling in Love."
Earl Eakins Jr., the big High Tenor, recently left the group. So between that and the quarantine, they've been doing vids with either actress Rachel Potter or a male guest from one of the other groups in that fifth spot, some of them done from home and virtually blended together. Plus Geoff's other multitrack stuff, such as "Bare Necessities" from Jungle Book.
Schnell Jordan women and men alike are a budle of amazement hearing Geoff's low notes. Heheh
One of my favorites is their Moana Medley. Geoff does have a few nice moments in that one, and their friend Rachel’s voice was made for Disney princesses.
