The original Bad Boy Mustang!!😁🤟😀🔥 Great, Lou! I'd like to have it myself!😀
Hi Billy, Happy to read you enjoy this "original Bad Boy Mustang!!" :-) Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
‘65-‘66 Shelby were the purest of the Shelby’s. After 1966, the cars were more about form than substance. The ‘65 Shelby 350 actually raced at Le Mans in its GT category (#17 Shelby broke 5 hrs. into the legendary race due to the transmission box - weak aluminum box broke. Private racing group should have raced Le Mans with a steel transmission box). No other Shelby had that kind of racing pedigree after 1966. Just comfy cars for the masses (slush box, fake / non functional air scoops, softer suspension, more bling bling exterior colors, etc).

This is the one and only!Reverse rear white lights missing
I think they made a few of them.
Awesome!
Hi Andy C, Happy to see you found this one and shared an "Awesome!" :-) Lou
All I can say is wow
Hi Peter, Happy to receive a "wow" from you :-) Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you enjoy, Lou
That always impresses me, when you hear of a car that was restored 20-30 years earlier, and it still holds a nice shine.
Hi John L, Agreed, sounds like a job well done the first time. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Nice car
One hell of a beautiful car.
High praise for the looks of this car :-)
Fix starter and set the lifters, man, I cannot believe it, to have something that nice.
Hi Steve Jones, Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
No hood springs. It has hinges. Awesome video and car. Thanks Lou for posting.
Hi Mark's Snakepit, Glad you enjoy this "awesome" car & video. My pleasure and you're welcome, Lou
Prob. The Lowest Mileage Orig.SHELBY GT 350 On Record.Restorer Did A Fantastic Job,As the FACT IT WAS A RACER ,Early in Its Life ,Is Not Evident.Lines & Gaps In Quarters & Doors Look Like It's Been A Street Car.If the UnderNeath Is As Perfect As Rest of Car, It's A Sure Winner @ Any GradeAble Points Show It Appears In.Sounds Like Valves Haven't Been Adj. Since1991.Tks for Sharing A Piece of FORD SHELBY HISTORY.
Hi Ed Cain, Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the car, and you're welcome, Lou
65 I thought the battery should be in the trunk ?

65 GT 350s were ALL fastbacks!!! In the 80s I had a 65 GT 350R, replicar!
Hi Michael Hansen, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Nice car ! I thought the early shelbys had the battery located in the truck ? Maybe just the R model only had that ?
Hi Rob Sexton, I thought so too. Hoping a Shelby Expert can share knowledge, Lou
At first, Shelby's solution was to fit the battery with caps and hoses that forced the fumes out through holes in the bottom of the trunk. However, eventually, the battery was simply moved into the engine compartment.
The first batch had the battery in the truck.
What is the price to own such a beauty?
No idea.
Who owns a car like that and doesn't drive it? Took him several seconds to open the hood like he didn't know how. He's just an investor, not a Mustang lover and that engine sounded just terrible. Something was off. Beautiful looking though.
Hi Jeff McKelvy, Well also when you have several cars, sometimes you have to recall which one does what too. Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
Sounded Like Starter Drive Was Slow To Disengage,Probably Orig.Starter W) That Low of Mlg.
It has the old style bendix probably. Those rockers are above 25000” valve lash it is clacking to much even for a solid lift.
Awesome video and channel my friend :-)
Thank you Family JOY. Glad you're enjoying the Channel, Lou
Agreed - one of my favourite channels!
very nice , but I still like 1965 MUSTANG GT . When I will come to the US I am going to visit. Thanks for all the nice cars you are showing.
Thank you for viewing the cars, Lou
Awesome..great car Lou! Go Shelby!!
So clean :-)
Very nice but doesn't the rear seem to sit a bit too high on this one? Not a good look nor is it good for handling & braking.
Hi JackF, Hmmm, I didn't seem to notice the rear being high, however I can understand your concern on handling, Lou
@@loucostabile Ok thanks Lou- probably just what I think I am seeing on the video. Again- very nice car and interesting info on the Blue Dot tire concept.
The 65 had the control arms lowered if you look at the shock towers on the bottom they left the original holes from the factory where they lowered them thus giving the car the rake or high rear end you notice
@@normanjones5167 Yeah good point. I actually did that to my '69 500 because it handled like a tank. Also added lowering blocks to the rear to bring it back to level and a rear sway bar. That stuff helped but it ended my interest in cast iron big blocks in Pony cars! I have assumed the '65-'66 used de-arched leaf springs or shorter shackles to compensate for the control arm move but perhaps not.
Amazing car!
Glad you enjoy this one :-) Hope you see many more cars on the Channel you'll enjoy.
remember the days of starters not catching!
Yes, and you'd have to wait for the engine / starter to completely stop before trying again :-)
that's a beautiful car by the way!
Glad you enjoy this one.
The 289 HP were not good idlers, the high rise solid lifter cams were opening and closing too fast. I owned a 64 1/2 mustang cobra and spent most of my time readjusting the lifters, but boy that engine could scream.

Glad you enjoy the American Muscle MARCEL MAURISSE :-) Lou
How to ruin a nice car. Why?
Hi stratos fun, Clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you'll enjoy :-) Lou
What? Why is that then Lou? Because I criticised the fact that the engine was running in a bad way? A way that could result in serious damage all because some Jockey can’t be arsed to look after a rare valuable car.
Didn’t think you would be the type to condone such behaviour and go all Snowflake over facts
I was bummed when I found out that the 350 is the number of steps that Shelby used take to the production floor. I thought it was horsepower. GT500. Yup 500 steps. Took the twinkle out of my eye. Great cars but I lost a little respect for the 350 and the 500.
