  • I recreated the clone trail effect from the newest Gatorade commercial and teach you how to edit this effect in Adobe After Effects. This video editing tutorial breaks down the effect as well as my editing workflow for basketball highlight broll and thought process when I’m adding VFX to sports videos!

      In premiere you just have to use the pen tool under the opacity tab in the effects panel instead of the pen tool in after effects (both function the same). The way you would animate and stack the layers is identical.

    If you use camera mapping, you can put it in the 3d space properly so it follows the tracked camera

    How would you slow down the speed without it looking as if jittery?

      Film in a higher frame rate and you can slow your footage down more without it getting that effect

    Is there anyway to do this in divinci resolve

      I haven’t personally done anything in DaVinci except for colour grading but you can mask and do basic editing functions so it shouldn’t be an issue
