@@CosmicFist I must agree with you. Time travel and those mind telepathic powers are a cliche nowadays and they don't give me the buzz movies and shows used to these days. I hope this reboot stays accurate and real and mortality grounded as possible.
I didn’t think the new installment would be any good when they initially announced it, but yeah it more than delivered. The sequels really built the world under Matt Reeves’ brilliant direction & was a good redo of the later OG Apes sequels
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! The timeline breakdown makes the rich, complex world of Planet of the Apes even more immersive. Superbly presented..!!
It’s so scary as to how single one misstep in natural Human Judgment can lead to a new type of evolution that would to the rise of NEW kingdom is this beautiful rebooted and revitalized franchise!
A very good explanation. I've seen all Planet of the Apes movies (current and the ones made in 1960's and 1970's) and this video definitely was a great refresher. I do wish that you would have at least mentioned, even briefly, how the original Planet of the Apes (1968) with Charlton Heston, ties in. That movie, of course, would take place sometime after "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" since that takes place about a thousand years in the future. Not sure if the current Planet of the Apes series will take the movies that far.
It looks like Cesar was the Moses for the apes. Both liberated their people, and both died when was close to their final home, Moses was promised by God that he could see the promised land but would wouldn't be allowed to go in, I don't know if Cesar died inside/outside the area that was their new home.
Ngl I thought the reason Moses didn’t make it to the kingdom of god because he ignored and throw them tablets down when he say the people he said praying to a gold ox
I'm very excited for the new Planet Ape movie I just bought my ticket the other day to go watch it on Friday I can't wait to see how good it is I seen all the other ones I love them can't wait to see this one
It’s fascinating to think that such a b-grade horror movie concept of genetically mutated animals is explored in such deep and complicated ways that comments upon socio-political topics. Oh man great storytelling
In a way they kind of are. Yea they aren’t directly linked since it’s technically in its own universe. But the second two films are partially remakes of the later OG sequels especially with “War…” being a redo of “Battle of the Planet of the Apes”
I am such a huge fan of the entire Planet Of The Apes franchise especially with Kingdom Of The Apes coming out in an couple days, my love to the franchise is just come back that I'm rewatching the marathon again from the '68 OG series, television show, Tim Burton's film and the epic rebooted trilogy.
I was always fascinated by the original franchise, they really made a good job with this "reboot" of the series, in a time with so many reboots and failed sequels... this is how you continue the legacy
Thanks so much for the love! he Planet of the Apes franchise always brings the action and intrigue. Are you hoping for a continuation of the recent trilogy or something entirely new?
I love Ceaser but I also really love Maurice. I was hoping that in Kingdom, Raka would be around longer and become a wise teacher or something. "The work continues" I loved that
Amazing video, I'm glad that the reboot is better than the original (having hidden racism within it). I honestly can't forgive Koba for starting the war in the first place! I personally think that it's sad that the Army's main general perspective is that the all Apes are violent. But I know that a War was going to eventually break out... It depends on all perspectives of who really started it.
I would say the trilogy was 8.5 for me and the new movie was a 7 but just a little bit more action or epic fights would make it better. Still a solid movie and I am excited for the next part
The first movie has one plothole: How where the zoo apes able to be as smart as the sanctuary and gensys ones if they (at least on camera) weren't exposed to the ALZ?
Well we know alz-113 was airborne, and all the apes in the sanctuary was exposed to it. Its not hard to believe that those apes could've passes the virus on to them the same way the humans passes it to one another.
The cut scenes didn’t make sense. Like when the ape dropped the gunpowder. And two of the apes walked off. Then the human man showed up and the apes were back like they never left. Or when the girl went to say goodbye with the gun held behind her back and then she grabbed the necklace with both hands
In Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024), there's a scene where Noa and Soona look through a telescope, suggesting they might be searching for or observing distant celestial objects. This scene might evoke connections to the Planet of the Apes universe's broader themes of exploration and discovery, potentially hinting at other planets or distant locations within the franchise's lore. The 2001 film, Planet of the Apes, directed by Tim Burton, presents a different narrative but also includes themes of exploration and encountering new worlds. In that film, the protagonist, Captain Leo Davidson, ends up on a distant planet inhabited by intelligent apes. Although the setting and plot differ, both films share a focus on exploring new worlds and the consequences of such explorations. The telescope scene in the 2024 film might be seen as a nod to the franchise's ongoing exploration of the universe and the idea of looking beyond their immediate surroundings.
Being honest I feel like alot of the fan base assumes that the new movies are what happens before the old ones. It would make sence timeline wise in my opinion. They make a disease that killes humans and makes apes smarter . Ceaser rises and takes the roof for himself that then moves on and takes the desert for himself. 1 thousand or so years later and Taylor. A man sent into space before ceaser became smart. Drops down and need Cornelius and his wife that he soon befriends. They get sent back in time ultimately ending in them going sent back in time- wich then changes the timeline. The constant being a ape that gains sentience or has sentience named ceaser
@olliesmith2890 The Dark Knight should probably be in everybody's top 10 movies of all time, but don't let that distract you from the fact that Batman Begins and Dark Knight Rises were 7's at best 😭
@@MajorasThoughts I’d still give begins and rises solid 8.5/10. Begins is amazing and the first half of rises is great, though there is a very noticeable decrease in quality in the second half.
the original planet of the apes movies - despite of the gaping technical disadvantage in production - still give me a 100 times more goosebumps than any modern CGI.
That part isn't really clear. For one, the way that Ceasar and Koba get smart is different, Ceasar gets his through genetics. Meanwhile Koba is smart thanks to the virus. It seems almost implied that Ceasar's intelligence was far greater than expected, so likely smarter than the monkeys created with the original strain. Being able to achieve a perfect score on the donut test. Where his mother achieved a score of 20, Ceasar was able to achieve a score of 15. Koba similarly was able to do it in 15 steps with the stronger strain. I think this is meant to imply that both monkeys are just as smart. But people will argue one way or the other.

The only franchise of the 21st century that was rebooted, and it actually improved upon the originals. Meanwhile Star Wars, every horror movie, Jurassic world, and many others fail to capture anything.
This reboot/prequal is honestly a lot better from the movies back in the 60’s and 70’s. Mostly because I wasn’t born then. But I have seen what the apes looked like back then. And good lord, they were gross and ugly.

i realize its probably easier with CGI to make these apes. but I still prefer the reboot with mark wahlberg versus the past ape films with cesar. Seeing them actually do the work and makeup with actors inside a suit made it seem more "realistic." Also the ones with Cesar the story is so slow. just finished watching the most recent one and I feel like I wasted my time. Lol.
Guys they should of continue ceaser generations but not so long ago where everything was forgotten and everything so new. They should of just skipped 10 years ahead in the future.
