Finally, the giant has arrived
Better late to the party than never, hoping to see a pro springer soon!
Make that a brand new nerf pro Springer. A pro-ed reshell is cool and all but nerf has the engineers to make something great..if they're allowed
@@CAPTTIGHT230I'm hoping for a Pro Longshot with built-in pump action, but a new springer design would be welcome too!
Vocal minority seems to be very jaded about Nerf. I've seen a lot of people get discouraged by $120, saying that they can do a 3S stryfe for much cheaper.. except they don't factor in tools or skills which you have also pointed out in the video. This sentiment seems to come from people who had spent upwards of hundreds of dollars on the hobby already. Maybe it is not a blaster for hardcore modders, but it is definitely a blaster for those who want to go into superstock games with a familiar frame with no need to spend hours on researching how to do a build or spending money on hardware.
In the end that is ultimately what matters; getting new people into the hobby-grade foam flinging so it may grow in other parts of the world. Hopefully it won't be restricted as Rival/Gelfire in Europe; communities are so miniscule they're mainly in UK or NL/DE.
Awesome video. Happy you gave clear proof that Talons work flawlessly.
Agreed. This is like the Nexus Pro/Max Stryker in that while there are hobby grade builds that will be better, you can walk into a store and buy this. Zero build time, zero waiting, and little Timmy can’t burn his house down because he doesn’t know how to LiPo
This blaster can also allieviate other concerns about LiPOs from what I've seen as well. Apparently, the battery has si many safety measures in it that it also takes away the potential risks of lipo care. The battery will just not provide power if the voltage is too low, it stops charging once it's full, it automatically balance charges, it's all just amazing. And the fact that I could pick this up at my local walmart and give the battery a full charge by plugging it into my car charger on my way to an event is just amazing. Hopefully, the people from the hobby that helped design this blaster convince Hasbro that other flywheel blasters need to use this same battery so there's not 15 different batteries needed for their Pro line
I’m glad that Hasbro seems to have taken notes on what the community has done with the Stryfe, such as 3s Lipo and talon magazine compatible mag well, and incorporated some of the common design elements into it. Going with the stryfe design may be a bit on the safe side, but it’s a familiar blaster that people are familiar with and have been modding for years, so the community will have a good idea of what they’re getting into out of the box.
I think it was a very stange choice to incorporate some of the modded features, such as the expanded battery shape and the very strangely placed magwell and mag release. A new design should be better able to accomodate a battery than this does. It also seems like an inch could simply have been removed from the center of the body, allowing the magazine and release to be placed normally.
Awsome that you got one. You had to really, Its Orange and (almost) black and has a big X on it.
It was designed for ypu ;)
And yes its not Perfect but we have been building these for years and saying "This is what Nerf should do" and now they have.
Congratulations, I'm glad that you received one of the pre-release Stryfe X's. The timing is a little off, Coop just left the hobby and Nerf releases this. To top all of this off, I recently received my kit to mod a Stryfe to 3S.
I hope Nerf continues the Pro line, I would love to see the Longshot, Stampede, and Rayven receive the Pro X treatment.
I'm genuinely tempted to get one of these if they come to the UK. It definitely needs a stock, though, in my opinion. What about a Nerf Pro Rapidstrike X?
Pro level half dart flywheeler from the mothership, and it's something as iconic as the stryfe. My only issue is the price point, but that's in comparison to other Pro-level primary class offerings from different companies.
Yeah but when you think about it, it’s not bad for a flywheeler primary. For example, the mk3 was $130 and the gryphon is $150
The fact that you set all those darts up like that is awesome 👏🏼
After watching your video and lukes from out of darts, I'm seriously considering pre ordering one of these off amazon. Also, a pump action, half dart, only longshot would be amazing, especially if they included a scar muzzle as well. fingers crossed because as you said its another main stay of the hobby.
Probably a Longstrike X, Alpha Trooper X or Retaliator X, Longshot name is currently being used by X-Shot.
It is cool that the voices (foamTubers) of the community like this first attempt. You (plural) and moders in general, are the reason, hobby grade blasters became available and popular and, if we want Hasbro to continue on this path, Nerf pro has to be a success commercially. Although worldwide availability remains to be seen.
The only change I would make is to have n-strike on the top and bottom so we could use the kits! That would also require to slig point to return on the bottom, which would be easy to do they could’ve just included the part that already on the bottom of the handle. Great video.
Personally I’m heavily considering picking one up even as someone already invested in the hobby. My old superstock flywheeler isn’t exactly superstock anymore as I put a banshee cage in it. And the options for injection molded flywheelers are very limited right now. The phoenix 2.0 is very expensive and only takes angled talons. the mk3 and omnia are cheaper and seem good. But both have issues with the stock rev switch only being specced up for 5A. We’ve already seen at least one reviewer (buffdaddynerf) have the omnia rev switch burn out. When combined with the various loading issues they have (trigger delay on omnia, talon issues in mk3). I do think the stryfe X is actually the best injection molded flywheeler out there purely out of the box right now.
I am really hoping for a Pro RapidStrike, Stampede, HyperFire, or Regulator with its select fire switch and angled flywheels for better accuracy.
Everyone has a stryfe.
Me: Not me, i can never find one. Well, I found one in a Walmart, but it was broken and wasn't on clearance. Kinda regret it but couldn't justify paying full price for a broken item
Out of Darts: "Thanks Cap. But you didn't need to give me one of your own kidneys."
Cap: "That's the neat thing. I didnt!"
Out of Darts: ...😱
Indeed! I said "A kidney" not "MY kidney" ;P
It's not for me. The non-standard rails the lack of an attachment lug the use of longer than standard Motors.
For people who are newer to the Hobby for people with less modding experience I can definitely see it being a decent option.
But personally I'm more excited for the Omnia as an off-the-shelf hobby grade flywheeler if I'm not going the route of a custom modded build
The key is whether they understand what they have with that battery
I personally wish it would have been compatible with full and half dart but that’s just preference. The battery is one of my favorite features. I can’t wait to see the mod kits for this. I’d love to see a n strike barrel lug. Mag release relocation and a full auto kit most of all.
As for a pro springer. Pump action long shot would be a good choice. Would definitely be iconic for them and nostalgic as well. I’d also love something more similar to an alpha trooper or retaliator. Get the power without the bulk.
Either way awesome to see Hasbro going pro finally and not just making awkward blasters with themes from popular games and movies.
A pro-level Alpha Trooper would make me SO happy.
@@CaptainXavier same. Has always been one of my favorites. Reminded me of the storm trooper blaster. Still have my original with the box I got from target. All decked out with the omw kit. If they did this I’d like to see em bring back the 18 round drum mag too. It’s not as practical I know but it just looked so good. Perhaps expand the capacity and do an official half dart drum to give it more purpose.
@@CaptainXavier In The Verge's article, it's indicated they haven't got springers currently in the pipeline :(
I can't wait to get the giant Xavier. This blaster change my life.
NEVER thought i'd see the day when hasbro would embrace the talon mag.
Nerf ball is the league already!
I like the idea of a Nerf Pro Longshot, but I really want a pro Alpha Trooper too
I want a pro vulcan
Make a Deplorable or a Deplorable MKII and Ta-Da - Pro Vulcan
Pro Stampede X ?
Yes please
Someone get to work on that N-Strike lug, please...😁
Glad to see Nerf has finally gotten in the game. Making it Talon compatible was probably the best move they could have made with this Blaster.
Awesome Video Cap! The first thing I noticed was the battery lock was the same from the perses. Which is fabulous! And yesss I'm hoping for a pro longshot
glad you're getting some Hasbro love & recognition for the Nerf Ambassador you are!
I do wish they gave 2 mags. They gave 2 mags worth of darts, but only one mag. I have accepted my fate of constant disappointment on that one though
I agree. Luckily they are selling them and they are cheap! I believe it is $10 for 2.
@@CaptainXavier I heard that and am so happy about it. I haven't seen anyone try the Nerf short dart mags in other mag wells. I hope they work in other talon mags.
@cullenmills5207 the only reason they might not is the lip but it is low enough it should not be an issue in most blasters but I have not checked.
@@CaptainXavier YAY! I hadn't seen anyone try the mag in other blasters, and I am trying to find how they tried to make it proprietary
3rd person I follow to get one of these and no one has swiped the barrel for a PROPER barrel lug. (surprised as Walcom actually oped it up)
Captain Xavier CAN you switch it for an N-strike barrel lug or like the rail system has that changed as well so one cannot easily change the barrel with a regular Stryfe barrel lug??
The front end is NOT swappable with a standard Stryfe battle. You would have to design a new replacement part.
I want one
I want a Nerf Pro revolver as their second springer ngl. 18 shot, Inline clip, 100 fps revolver based on the Fortnite Revolver as that solved all the issues of the Hammershot
Only took them 10 years of the community fixing the whole blaster for Hasbro finally catch on. All R+D done for you and 2 hobbyists in their team (that they should of done years ago). Have fun.ThankQ.TkEZ>UK
No. Not a Longshot. The blaster that has the best shell they've ever made. The blaster that shouldve been greater than the Longshot. The Longstrike. A Longstrike that doesnt take both hands to prime with a good spring. Re-released Pro level w the White Out paint scheme. With a legit bipod and at least a basic working scope.
12:07 "I'm wondering what their first springer will be"
welll....... if the verge article is correct in what it says, Hasbro has no plans for any Pro springers...
When hasbro realize half dart is more creative than full length dart.jpg
What if they made a pro deploy for the lolz
I want that. More than any Pro Longshot or Pro Rapidstrike. JoltKing627 on RUclips made a 115 fps Deploy before using Kronos and Nexus parts (and it can still Deploy), so a Pro Deploy is possible. Might be hard to get it to 150 fps though.
It’s so awesome they sent you one.
Gee, it is like Hasbro actually took its time and did real research into the Pro NERF scene before making their first Pro Blaster. Also, I hope they sell the LiPO pack separately and maybe an upgrade kit to replace older blaster battery trays with the LiPO pack.
I'm a bit surprised there's so many people poopooing this. Your reaction seems basically how I'm looking at it. There doesn't seem to be any real negatives with the blaster itself. Only side steps are the barrel lug and rails, which will be remedied pronto (I wouldn't even be that phased).
The price is up there, but it's not super crazy for what you get. This battery is a first for the hobby, lotta people don't seem to be giving that the weight they should. And there's a list of things that are surprising about this blaster, in good ways.
And, the direct competitor is so far not exactly landing its hits as far as I can tell.
It would appear that Hasbro finally realized how much market share they were losing at the top...
Stryfe "Cap X" edition!
Ave mon captain. About time Hasbro sent you things for free, after all you do to promote the hobby they started and the awsomesness you are to the community.
I said on Walcoms video a pro half-dart Alpha trooper would be cool. Long shot would also be cool
finally hasbro has woken up to what the community wants not what their marking team forces into producution i suppose the ultra fail { i loved the blasters i have the entire line inc the screamer ulta 1 , the failed hyper line , hasbro has sort of fallen into step , with the battery inc they surpassed it not more ballence charge dealing with bags and all that stuff i applaud hasbro
I'm glad to hear your approval of this product despite it's price point and despite you not exactly being the intended audience for this product. I've disagreed with a great many of your opinions on blasters in the past, but I've always appreciated your content and have never questioned your dedication or your credentials even when I disagree with you. I really appreciate that you've taken time to address the point that this is not only a very important step for hasbro and nerf, but it is also that this, despite the price, can be considered a "value option" for somebody who literally has no money invested into the LiPO ecosystem, short-dart mags, and other hobby-modification requirements. I honestly think that you could create an entire video talking about the amount of start-up cost that comes with getting a charger, lipo, soldering iron, solder, electronics, and the hobby-required tools and various consumables that are required to properly make a future-hobbiest's first modded blaster project successful. To me, this blaster is a gateway drug. People who know nerf, but might be oblivious to or only slightly aware of the hobby-side of this sport will be drawn into the hobby as a whole by seeing what an upgrades blaster can really do by feeling it in their own hands.
I feel like this is a true trojan horse for a certain kind of person who doesn't even know they want to get into this hobby, but will now. Besides the startup cost of materials, I can't stress enough how much raw time and attention is required to bring a person like who I was 5 years ago into being up-to-speed on what this hobby is about. I knew nothing about battery safety or chemistry, circuitry, motor technology, soldering... any of it! I, unlike a lot of people, was obsessive enough to spend literally hundreds of hours learning everything about all of those subjects before I made my first fully functional modded blaster... but this, this is proof of commitment value straight out of the box! Think of how many people this will bring into the modding scene!
Oh, and also, Pro rayven X when, Hasbro?
Thank you for the review, so we can revel together in the new blaster. Bangarang!
They got tired of everyone using their best toy so they made a better version which we will add full auto to
This thing is perfectly branded for you
What a world we live in now, nerf redemption arc is happening as we speak!
Great and fun review, thanks 🫶🏻👍🏻
All we need now is a half dart drum from hasbro and refill packs
I guess even Nerf admits its not nerf or nothing anymore
when did hasbro get so fucking cool?
Congrats for being tapped by Hasbro!
I mean how could they not!? The colours, the X!
It'll be interesting to see if any Springers will get the Nerf Pro Treatment
I'd rather have an alpha trooper over a long shot
One of the few blasters I will buy this year lol
Glad to see your impressions; My issue is the price point compared to other blasters of similar scale on the market, but in a vaccume this is a neat step into it by Hasbro.
i realy want to see more things take that lipo
That price is all that is stopping me.
I would like to see their first pro Springer be a alpha Trooper
Am I dreaming?
Is it april 1st?
I want to see a Retaliator X....
It only took them 10 years, nice job Hasbro. You're still behind dart zone though
Hey, the StryfeX shoots straight and fires when you pull the trigger. That puts it miles ahead of the Omnia. ;P
Hey cap, I have one question about this. Can a N-Strike Stryfe barrel lug fit drop into this blaster?
No
Or a pro alpha trooper
No n strike barrel lug
WOW...
Are the nerf mags compatible with other talon-pattern blasters?
So far every straight Talon-pattern mags I have tried has fit. Tachi, Coda, Mythical, all of them.
and i dont want a longshot x , i wanrt a x rapidstrike
Nerf was killed for me becaus ei had to move to a place where nobody plays, but if they make an X rapistrike ill probably still buy it
Alpha Trooper or Rampage as dedicated short dart blasters would be an instant buy from me.
I have a Nexus Pro, but you can never have too many pump action springers, especially if they all take the same mags!
Please do a teardown, i need to see the internals!
Second video just dripped. ;)
I’ve never contemplated getting any flywheel blasters that require LiPOs cos they seem a hassle & this seems to eliminate that, so even with a Stryfe build they’re kinda changing the game!
Captain, what I really want to know is how long before you sand off the Stryfe X and put your logo there?
It’s great to get more people into the hobby.
The grey beard in me is annoyed, these kids can just buy a decent moded blaster.
Trust me, you’ll be less annoyed when you get asked where you bought yours and can reply “oh I built it myself.”
And anything that helps people get into the hobby easily is going to be good in the long run.
@@Queldonus yes but for a first one, or as loaners, or for the 12 year old sons.
Nerf could use a spring tension dial instead of spacers in their first springer. That would be cool.
I really hope this thing is compatible with worker cosmetic kits
Many of them won't work due to the new non-standard rails on the top and bottom of the blaster. It's not picatinny and it's not the old N-Strike rails either. I assume Hasbro has some plan for their own accessories.
I think that is the reason for the no-barrel lug and non-standard rail. So people CANNOT put on the cosmetic kits. Hasbro doesn’t want someone slapping an AK-47 kit on it and causing a problem
Any idea of price for this? Cause I WANT ONE
Pretty sure I say the price in the video. It is $120.
@@CaptainXavier I heard the price after I said this, so I goofed and jumped ahead with the question because of excitement
I love this. Will own 2!
Only 2? We’re your backup?
According to the Verge Article on the Stryfe X, Hasbro has no plans on making any pro springers at this time, due to the wide head on accustrike darts
You should compare it to one of your stryfe builds!
Pretty neat only wish it had a nstrike barrel
12:13 I'd figure if they did a pump springer, I'd go right to the Alpha Trooper. yes, the Longshot is iconic, but the AT is kinda 90% there already.
If they did do a pump springer, they would have to redesign the internals anyway, since mag-fed Elite blasters are not compatible with half-lengths and pretty inefficient. Also, the metal rod that connects the AT's pump grip to the priming mechanism is skinny and weak. Not to mention that the parts responsible for slamfire in the AT wasn't very strong, and the current AT's plunger tube is not that big and it would be much harder to reach 150 fps with it. Which is why you see so many more mods for the Longshot and Retaliator. They probably would still go with a (redesigned) AT or Raider/Rampage, not because it's 90% there already, but because they were some of the first true pump-action, mag-fed blasters without mods.
I can't wait to get my hands on one soon.
Hello
I would love to see the Pro line make a direct-plunger barrel-break rerelease that uses short darts.
I think this blaster is amazing and it's very exciting hasbro is finally releasing a pro line of blasters. but people from in the hobby are goign to like this however those outside might not even pick this up... namely because this will be on the shelf next to the omnia and the DZP MK3. a whole 40 usd cheaper with more features (burst and full auto, comes with *two* mags, etc). Maybe i'm just someone who'll never be satisfied but it's expensive with rail that will work with 0 currently existing attachments. They also have no plans to sell these batteries separately which is a huge let down becuase this just makes it not at all war practical. you take this to an event and have no other battery to switch to you'll get a few hours of game play at most then you have to sit and for it to charge missing out on moost of the game? or just use your secondary?
So begs the question of actually... who is this for? hits too hard for casual nerf, the battery issue, sheer unmoddability and lack of picatinny means that most hardcore and medium core nerfers won't enjoy this? Is this just for nostalgia then? I'm not dissapointed or mad by any means... the existence of this just has me quite dissapointingly confused.
(Tbh idk what I'm rambling about I'm never even gonna be able to get hands on this to begin with)
Gotta say...growing up playing with NERF foam swords and 90's gimmick blasters, never thought I'd see NERF or other foam flinging blaster sellers aim for the serious older modding crowd who love their half darts and higher performance. Only took...oh...31 years for dart blasters to get here...from the OFFICIAL side of course, modders did it a LOT earlier.
A little too steep at $120. Can't wait for you to review the Dart Zone Omnia!
