1:16 As much as I love Doug DeMuro, seeing that annoys me so much, because in Doug's video, he moves the seat forward slightly with the regular button on the base of the seat, and not the proper one used in this video to allow rear passengers to get in.
He deliberately made the car appear worse than it is.

DonaId Trump yeah it was obvious as I’ve seen other videos of people getting in and out of the back without a problem. Of course Doug is much taller than those people but Doug is much taller than the avg person anyway. Doug’s video on the RR Evoque convertible was pretty much negative. I wouldn’t buy one new but maybe 1-2 years old I would.

To me, the regular Evoque is by far one of the ugliest cars on the market. Cutting the roof off seems to help a little. Perhaps it's the hideous window line of the coupe I don't like.
Well, ugly it is. But it's like the X6: first people hate it, then they accept it, then they copy it. I bet they gonna love the evoque convertible as well...someday!;)

First, I must say that you are doing a fantastic job with your car reviews. Secondly, I personally think the car itself is a bit daft even though I work for JLR. It is very unique, completely capable off road, but this is car is for those rich spoiled teenagers who want to show off their suv that is a convertible and offered capable. I think it is also best suited for preppy housewives, or women who want a very different looking car.
Is it a Range Rover? Yes!
Is it a convertible? Yes!
Is is a 4 by 4? Yes!

i like it, i don't care what people think. but i think they should give it a more rugged look with wheels and maybe some cladding, like a defender
Matt, you gotta keep your finger on the seat-move button otherwise the seat would just return to the original position and squish the rear passenger. You'd need to add a pressure sensor to prevent this, which would be additional cost/complexity and would mean the seat has to press against the knees of the passenger before the seat stops.

Uh Oh! All this time I should have cared whether someone else thinks I look cool. I bought my convertible SUV for many reasons. 1. We get a lot of snow. 2. I LOVE nature. 3. I SEEK comfort. 4. Gas mileage matters. 5. Agility and parking anywhere. I simply don't have time to care whether someone else thinks I look cool. My car is a 5 speed standard (FUN!) with RWD (NOT FWD, so it still handles great) FUN, and has part time 4X4 low or 4X4 for FUN in the snow on my hill. It has a full body frame so I can tow a 1000 pounds when I choose to have FUN (or rescue someone). T-roof gets me a convertible in 12 seconds with no complications due to electronics malfunctioning. FUN! It is a two-seater sports car FUN about half as long as most cars, and can park most anywhere. FUN! OH! And it has air-conditioning so no sweat, I actually have a choice to be cool. When this car first came on the market, all most people would mention is that they thought it was really ugly. Even so, years of fun later, I still can't care whether someone else thinks it should conform to their imagination of what a desirable form is. Oh, and they don't make these anymore, so don't worry, you may never have to see one, but about every second person who sees me parking runs over to ask where to buy one. And I STILL won't care whether someone else thinks I look cool, so if that's what you have come up with for someone else to read about, why bother?.

matt's reviews are always interesting and funny to watch
I've test driven one (for a laugh, honestly) and I have to agree it's like nothing else. It definitely puts a huge grin on your face and you soon find out if you can laugh at yourself. The only thing I call bull on, Mat, is that at just over 6'2 I couldn't even fit in the back with a short adult in the front! No way can you get four 6 footers in this car comfortably. Having said that, perhaps the expected customers will be a lot shorter and based in London.
Looks no worse than a Mini or Golf comfortable and those seem to sell. This is just more upmarket.
Props to Land Rover,(of all companies) for trying to create something unique. They could have executed it a bit better but hey, it's a land-boat, how cool is that?

It's funny how Jeremy Clarkson designed this car as in a top gear episode he had a picture of the Evoque and cut the roof off with scissors and JLR stole the idea

A convertible SUV, it's just a brilliant combination. And it's been around since the beginning of the SUV itself. Why is it only Land Rover that does a modern convertible SUV? I'd buy one for my girlfriend in a jiffy!

Oh my god this is terrible...
Unlike most convertibles the header rail doesn't come right over the front seats. Makes it look and feel more open.

Fabulous car, highly desirable in my opinion. Perfect solo/family Sunday country tourer for being at one with environment wherever or a chukka of polo. Pat the horses without having to get mud on the brogues.

That car in the UK is useless and is extremely ugly with the roof up. This car was designed for somewhere like LA and other warm climates that have the sun on a regular basis.
