7:47 Why is no one talking about carbuyer reviewers ginny and batch just made an appearance in a carwow video. Mat previously also worked for carbuyer!!!!
@ Yusuf Kacchi. Matt made a similar appearance on Carbuyer yesterday when Ginny and Batch were reviewing the same car so it’s only fair to return the favour
I have had this vehicle for four years and absolutely love it. Also had to drive it through mud and handled it like a champ. An F-150 got stuck, but my Evoque no problem.
I was trying to send you a pic, but I guess there isn't a way to do it. It's really nice bro. Fun to drive and came with an excellent stereo system with built in Subwoofer. Same gear shifter as the Jaguar F-Type with Manual control capabilities. When the turbo kicks in the car takes off. You would be surprised.
Just bought one today and have been hoping for one positive review on the entire internet! Found a 2020 with 17k miles on it. Got the longest extended warranty (no exclusions) includes wheels and tires - so I’m optimistic.
Absolutely top notch review! Exactly what I needed to know was all the little differences between the models which a lot of reviews miss out and it's not always easy to see exactly what you are getting for the money. Thanks a lot Matt, we are big fans of the content you and your team produce! 👍😀
I own a 2013 Land Rover Evoque and even after 9+ years and 100K miles, it still runs great. I have only spent less than 5K in repairs plus oil changes. Comparing that with an Audi or BMW, it’s pretty impressive TBH
Hi mate, will u advice me to go on to purchase a used Range Rover evoque 2012 or the 2013 as my first car, I am reading a lot about its unreliability issues. Please advice me?
Thank you for taking the time to talk through the specs. That's a lot of help when buying an evoque and being unfamiliar with the range. I don't understand why car companies don't automatically send you their top of the range cars with all of the optional extras. It would give you more to review and give us more reasons to buy one.
On the strength of your review of the Freelander 2 in 2010 I bought one and it served me well for five years. Because of your review of the 2020 Evoque, I have bought this car. One month and 3000 miles in.....I love it! Fits like a glove.
Its the interior where there is the biggest difference, not to mention the improvement with panel gaps! The car you tested, Matt, doesn't have the leather mid section to the fascia, and that looks and feels much better. I drove one earlier in the month and it was parked next to an old one. When you see them both together, its clearly obvious just what a huge improvement the Mk 2 is.
Amazing review. Could see all the faults. Also loved the in depth review of each variant. Thats what the others are missing and you guys deliver. Well done!
Payback for you Matt, Nice going James and Ginny! PS, I really love the seat fabric in this particular, makes a nice change from leather seats and adds depth and texture to the interior.
Absolutely love your reviews, I’ve watched so many from other people but they give fake reviews and seem like they are promoting the vehicle. You on the other hand, so honest and my favourite part would be the details you give on the pros and cons - I also find each review so funny, I look forward to the luggage being launched into the boot lol
Its a bit like; 'Lets put aerodynamic doorhandles on a SUV. That will make the difference!' Same thing with the Camera mirror things from Audi. Useless
I have this car in Santorini black R dynamic copper trim with black 20 inch wheels and I love it. It hasn't missed a beat. The boot space looks small but with one rear seat folded down it will fit everything from a huge shopping trip to costco including a Little Giant ladder. I have driven it on dirt road but not in mud yet. It handled 45 degree bull dust bends no problem at all. People who don't drive this car and bag it for unreliability etc should be ignored - they know nothing about it.
I got a silver Evoque R-Dynamic six months ago, and I loved it. However, the electronic issues just made it impossible to live with. First the reverse camera (both in the mirror and the screen) refuses to show up, than the whole screen doesn't start up and sometimes finally starts 20 minutes after the startup (which is bad because most functions are accessed from the screen), and a bunch of other stuff. The build quality also was pretty hard to live with, it basically had moisture in the headlights four days after leaving the lot. Good job Land Rover, I replaced my Evoque with a Macan. Never buying a JLR again, EVER.
That's a beautiful car!!! About the reability thing, my parents had a range rover for three years, bought it brand new in 2012 and sold it in 2015, never had a problem with it:)
Matt literally gave carbuyer a ready made, successful channel, and then went on to do the same with carwow . I really hope Matt gets a kick back from the sale of every car through car wow! I really want him to do well 😁
Shes Sunshine I’m a man with a discovery sport 2017 and have put 200,000 in 2yrs on the clock all that’s happened is the engine was found to have metal in it at the 210,000km service “damn” but Landrover paid for another new engine and I just had to pay for labour $2,600 so that’s it, if something goes wrong that’s all you can ask btw I’m in Australia and still love the car
Mate in Australia to exactly almost to the km my discovery sport 211000 is metal in engine cost my $3000 labour Landrover Shepparton paid for the engine. So I have now put in 3yrs 260000 kms with the engine only issue which as I said Landrover paid for. @@Yourmom-gh3bu so far so good! No major issues. I've had some minor issues, such as the touch screen not always loading up when I start the car. That has only happened a handful of times since getting the car back in 2020. The other issue I've had is some undercoat/paint issues on the panels near the windows, three different times on three different panels on the same side of the vehicle. I'm pretty sure it's a manufacturer's issue. It's still covered under warranty, so nothing out of pocket...yet.
I really like how you make your reviews, so much informative and yet fun to watch. Avery good review of a the car with a perfect balance of humor and fun while at it. it is all thumbs up from me, always.

I’ve just sold the previous gen Evoque because in one day the steering rack suddenly failed costing £3k and the turbo went at the same time costing £1.8k so I’d like to know more on reliability and what is likely to go wrong. The JLR dealer we used for repairs said “oh yes, both very common problems”. For me reliability rules this out unless I’m reassured otherwise.
The last time I bought Evoque in 2016, it broke down 10 times in 2 years. Sold it to someone who called me 2 years later to say the engine stopped working. Same issue with my brother in maintenance. Also, the greabox is the worst, it has no clue which gear to be in, absolutely clueless, sometimes its instant torque else prefers sleeping when you press the peddle. Will never leave BMW's now... never an issue and gearbox is wonderful and maintenance is minimal. Had 535i and 528i at the same time..
Absolutely loved the review. Mat, you nailed it, covered everything. Great attention to detail. Looks a lovely car but JLR are way off with their pricing, stupid money when you look at the build quality and reliability issues.
Mat Watson. You are the Jim Dale of online car reviews. Carry On Cars! I bought a Land Rover Freelander 2 on the strength of you review and I will buy a Range Rover Evoque because of your very entertaining and comprehensive review. Keep up the good work!
The good thing is nobody cares about reliability - which is why so many people still buy BMW and Audi, even though they regularly come bottom of the reliability charts in UK
Love your reviews but wish you would review the base models, instead of the top of the range , or do a comparison between the two ,as most people will buy the car thinking this option comes with it etc, etc. 🚙🏴⛺️
You know you watch too much carwow when you check the knee and head room every time you get into the back of a car.
DId it today in the back of the new mazda 3. Exactly like Matt.

Don't forget to check if a large water bottle fits in the door bin
Just did it with a kia sportage

The Velar and the Evoque remind me of the iPhone XS and XS Max

Why does this make sense
@yajat mathur op the Velar is a bigger version of the Evoque
I hate my iPhone!
