    I bought an SP5 on my own, but I decked it out based on the information in these recent videos. Thanks for the discount code and the info dumps.

    Got a rrMP5 in 1987 made by Flemming from a 94. I'm pretty good with guns but never really delved into the disassembly and/or maintenance of the H&K. Over the years I put over 90,000 documented rounds through the gun (I saved ammo case and primer brick end flaps). I cleaned the gun once when it's firing rate seemed to slow down. The original hammer broke about three years ago, the rubber from the stock buttpad fell off two years ago and the plate that holds the rollers broke last year and I had to replace it and my missing rollers... not sure where they went. I'm still using the original extractor and spring. I have about seven full auto MP5s now.. one is an SD, one is a K, two are clones. I replace extractors and springs as soon as I get my first failure to function in my range guns and problem is solved.
    I recently replaced the extractor and spring in my old Flemming gun.

    Great video from the team! Heads up Derek-you put the old spring back in. Speaking from experience, keep trash/broke parts/ old springs on one side of the bench, fresh produce on the other! Keep up the good work!

    Been watching all your videos and already bought the lighted foregrip with your code and the Sb tactical pdw brace. Only problem is I’m 3rd in line at my local gun shop to get one. Have a $500 deposit down, they said probably end of February to get mine. Can’t wait to get one.

    Picked up my HK sp5 yesterday. Definitely better quality then the zenith. Only grip is that ambi safety hits my hand when switching off safety.

    Is there much diff in the springs out there? I was going to snag one from Brownells next time I order some stuff and I saw it wasn’t HK manf. I’m assuming they are all full up from reputable manufacturers.

    • @CaptainCreampie69
      @CaptainCreampie69 4 года назад +3

      assfacetheclown29 for real. The official stuff on the official HK store is always sold out. HK parts net has different ones, the bronze collared one like it is here and then a black one that is German. I want to buy 5 of them since they are so cheap but don’t want to buy garbage...I’d love an answer from him...

    What red dot are you using in that video at the end? Do you recommend using a high mount like that or mounting low? If you mount low do you co-witness with the stock sights?

    Hey Derek I hate to bother you but do you know anything about the QD sling mount pins that replaces the small and large takedown pins on the mp5 and if so, is it tough enough or worth it?

    • @HKShootingwithDerekG
      @HKShootingwithDerekG  4 года назад +1

      Walter White one large and one small are mandatory! With the large pin, you open the door to single point slings using the HK snap hook. With both pins, you will want a 2pt sling with 2 HK snap hooks. Great Pins to have but I wouldn’t refer to them as QD sling mount pins as they are ambidextrous sling pins.

      @@HKShootingwithDerekG thanks Derek and also thanks for this vid on the extractor spring because there's no videos on RUclips about this maintenance on roller lock systems and how its 1 of the main causes for malfunctions 👍

      Those make sense for a mg rental, but you still have to replace the spring around half as much at best, and normal extractor spring are only a couple bucks.
