5:31 No, John it's not a two stamp gun. Iz machine gun, iz no matter if haz stock or short barrel. All the pews>shortyboi. Also, it's definitely a Post'86 gun. Probably a 07/10 SOT 2 form 2 gun, so no actual 'stamp' per se.
thanks for showing us your new hk! appreciate these gear reviews and insight. ive never shot one of these. would love to put it side by side with my b&t!
My agency used to field the MP5, ours were about 30 years old based on the stampings and ran great. During a HK MP5 armorers course I asked why HK stopped making them. He said they still make them but don't advertise because they want to highlight newer systems, but agencies and departments still purchase the MP5 despite the cost.
Thank you, John! Your gear reviews are needed much! For example, you have given an excellent guidelines for a holster. Could you do the same for other gear reviews what you do?
The weight comment is odd. Maybe the Turkish Zeniths were made out of Reynolds wrap but the US made ones report a heavier dry weight than the HK SP5 does 🤔 I always found the drum sight curious, from a sling it’s too far away imho. I’m a stock they work perfect. I threw an RMR on mine.
Not a bad gun, but I'm partial to the CMMG line of PCC's: the AR15 ergonomics and lower receiver compatibility (mags, parts, etc.) means less retraining time and no need to buy extra gun-specific equipment.
@@TrueOpinion99 that is true but the mp5 aftermarket is alive and very well. I have a sp5 that I recently got and I have plenty of amazing aftermarket parts in my cart. Problem is I blew all the play money on the sp5 😭
@Gimmithat491 - Another benefit of AR9's, there are more less-expensive add-ons compared to the MP5. I'm a fan of the CMMG radial system because with a magazine conversion, I can run AR magazines, AR pouches, etc. So, I can keep some universality in my kit and training, can I don't have to spend money on multiple SBR'd lowers.
@@G19Jeeper they havent been coming with the traditional mp5 diopter sights. I just checked a thread and some people are saying that they are now though. It wasnt a big deal as you can easily swap them out and they arent super expensive if you get an older model.
As to the difference in the weight, the Zeniths are made on licensed HK tooling with HK plans and HK specs. What HK is doing differently with the SP5 is another matter.
I need some clarification- If I were to purchase the H&K SP5 and wanted to replace the end cap, I could only replace it with a brace? Would an actual buttstock, like the fixed stock you'd find on an MP5A2, be considered illegal unless you get some sort of stamp? I'm not caught up on this. If it depends on State, I live in Minnesota.
If you put a stock on the gun it becomes a short barreled rifle and you need a NFA stamp for it. It's a real PITA to do the paperwork and pay the fee and takes forever.
Thanks so much for the video John! Considering purchasing a firearm after all the current political craziness and rise in crime. A bit of an annoyance, Connecticut is pretty tedious when it comes to getting the license.
Haha $6 grand later and you’ve got an awesome 9 mil PCC!!! I get it John, I do!! But until the day comes my bank account is screaming “I’m to full”!!! I’ll pass on the standard HK for $2 grand plus haha I’m glad your bringing us along with your build tho. I am intrigued for sure!! Thanks man

Johns face is so happy at the start of video!
Love the MP5! Sucks prices have gone nuts on all guns. Im a big fan of PTR. There guns run great and save a ton of money.

Very cool! I was fortunate enough to shoot a full auto MP5. It was amazing! Super controllable and accurate.
Dude you dropped a hard to get gun but then again it’s a HK it better survive a 3ft drop . Lol

@@ASPextra can you elaborate on what you were talking about when your guest asked if you can buy a full auto of this gun?
@@ASPextra I’m guessing he means parts and other options for the pistol?
Are you going to SBR it because of the new ATF ruling? You have a few days left where the stamp is free.
How is it that you dropped that weapon and you did not drop down for at least 500?

@Gimmithat491 - So do AR's...more so than MP5's given MP5's aren't as common in the US.

Nice gat. I would swap out the sights for the traditional mp5 sights, throw a light, optic and sba3 brace on it and call it a day.

@@FunWithGuns I gotcha. After reading some reviews I saw that too. I agree, diopter is the way to go, not those pistol-esqe notches
This video proves it is time to move UP to a Wireless Lav Microphone for such shoots.
We were wearing wireless lav mics.
I want to live in an America where we get rid of NFA, Hughes, and all legacy gun control and we can buy and sell actual MP5s freely. :-)

Dropping the firearm to your side would have gotten you yelled at by RO's in IL at best, or banned.
I couldn’t believe it...watched it twice...loaded gun pointing at your feet. Kicked off the range in UK.
None of those lock back on an empty mag lol.
For a machine gun, you can have whatever barrel length you want without needing an SBR stamp.
Full auto mp5 is a 1 stamp gun.
But its not dual charging like the EVO. Cost almost double and the mags are not as cheap...
I'm sitting on two brand new ones :) waiting to see if they go even higher in value before I sell both because I'm not a pcc fan
@@W1nterx86 thats right! I'm buying up all the import stock and monopolizing on them and preventing everyone from accessing a boomer meme gun

Any chance you could do a video on traveling with guns with all the new gun laws?

MP5 is a single stamp gun. It's a machine gun. You don't need a second stamp for the barrel. Machine gun trumps all.
