Former USAF here. I worked at a joint command at Buckley AFB in Colorado. I did color ceremonies with all branches. Marines were always the sharpest. People would push past us just to take photos with them :P Great job Marines!
I was there. The majority of the people there didn't even know what was going on nor have a clue what Fleet Week was all about. Understandably, tourists from other countries.
@@alwilliam3379 I am glad you were able to see it in person. As I watched the video I could tell the crowd had no idea what they were watching. No one render honors when the Battle Colors Guard passed by. I had to say something when the guy said it must be Navy band. No appreciation for the beloved Silent Drill Platoon and Drum & Bugle Corps.
@@bonosimic532 Apparently you haven't watched the silent drill team at 8th & I and other military functions whereas people will applaugh their routines. It is silent and there isn't any commands so noise is not a factor.
Their alignment is great too. Alignment is the most important factor in Precision Drill. And here’s the hard part. Once you halt you can’t adjust or move your head. Any extra movement can get you kicked off the team. Precision and discipline.
Marine step unlike other militaries puts the heal down fist and the lowers the rest of the foot towards the toe. UNIQUE! PS; Marines always have great uniforms. class!
Brilliant. As a Marine vet that has seen the teams in person. This was an outstanding performance. Right in Times Square! I bet NONE of these guys two years before this date ever thought they would be doing what they are doing. NYC tourist suck. Hardly any applause. These guys have BAYONETS on the end of their rifles doing death defying drill!
I noticed that too. There were a couple of little bobbles there, but still an excellent performance with no broken buttstocks. I'm proud of these young Marines :-D
Yeah I saw the sling of a rifle get hung up on the Cpl’s combination cover. The Cpl covered it up pretty well. I can watch the silent drill team all day, truly amazing. The marines always look so sharp and the timing is so precise.
@@paulready8897 Precision is what it is all about. The other service drill teams try to put a lot of flashiness in their routines to get the oohs and the aahs, but it is that relentless rhythm of absolute precision that puts the Corps above them all.
They were but once they got moving it is perfection. My platoon at basic training was the one to get the highest score for final drill even if there was a fault with no loss of bearing

always America love US Marines
Awesome and Perfect performances
You could tell by the lack of crowd noise that they had no idea who this great drill team was doing. Semper Fi!

no, the silence is due to respect, the crowds keep quiet in order to not disturb the performance

PERPECT PERPORMANCE !! 💕 VERY LOVELY AMASING ! GREAT 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I love the marines and what they do...Very well disciplined too...
Seeing it on TV, looks lame. You have to see it in person ... totally different! You'll be blown away with the precision and the sound.
My late HUSBAND PASSED AWAY IN 2019 he was in the service from 1971 to 1974
RESPECT!!! Semper Fidelis - Ooh Ra!!
I see some of my junior marines in that video and I miss them
America love US Marines..
I see the second marine toss changed his way of tossing the rifle. Usually he would toss the rifle from his front, not his shoulder?

Why are they out of step as they "march" in?

why are they all lance corporals?
It’s not NY unless you see a gay flag
Wow. New York City is lame....
It’s just disappointing them to see a pride flag in the back 🇺🇸 THIS SHOULD BE PRIDE NKT THIS 🏳️🌈
Lol you're such ❄️

Too bad they weren't deployed during the riots!
You must be one of those patriots that wave the flag and never had the balls to join !
