Lmao, I never realised I needed tips to make riff. My tips are- 1.Hit the Low E string too many times (bonus points for downpicking) 2. Pick some random note on the low E and and A string but keep downpicking the low E string Bhoom You just got a Thrash Metal Riff! Jokes aside great video, Jason!
I’ve quoted this on your channel before “ We’re all just sharing riffs”- Dimebag. Great lesson! We’ve all came up with something we like but sounds like something done before.
So awesome Jason. I just ordered your metal mastermind riff mastery course and looking forward to developing my metal guitar skills so that I can record my first album. Ear training skills and learning basic sweep arpeggios are goals I have in mind as well as better chops.
I've been hijacking other folks riffs since 198?, & I will probably do it til I can't play anymore. That riff actually sounds more like Jake E Lee to me. \m/
@@jasonstallworth Improvising is probably my strongest musical skill . been working out some riffs based off laid to rest by lamb of god without it sounding like laid to rest .

Kiss of Death and your Intro Riff are two completely different things. So, no. Inspired by Dokken‘s song. But not ripped off from that
Badass 💪🤘 Jason is one of the best METAL 🎸 Guitarist on RUclips that I've discovered.
Thank you my friend!🤘
That sounds like the kiss of life to me.....
Lol...a nice twist!
Sounds like there's a little Akira Takasaki in there. That man's a beast on guitar.

The Best scale, the random pentatonic scale.

That's so true! 🤘
@@jasonstallworth I always called it a musical coincedence, or an overused musical cliche.
Absolutely awesome ❤❤❤❤

Great advise man, this is something I am definitely going to work on. Really like how you broke down your process.
You're welcome! I do a deeper breakdown on turning riffs into full songs on my the Metal Mastermind channel: ruclips.net/video/9sl6E-XPR9w/видео.html
Love your channel! Just recently got bit by the metal bug and definitely love what I’m seeing keep up the good work.
Yes the metal bug will bite you!!

Love his playing dude! Yeah, pretty much every riff is just a modified version of something that's already been written!
Awesome content once again. I find myself doing this a lot playing in Drop D . I’m like wait no that sounds like an Adam Jones riff .🔥🤘🏻🎸
Nice dude!!!

I took Metallica Enter the Sandman riffs and modified downtuned and mixed it up to create my own unique version. Same with Slayer riffs.
Those are some great riffs to work with!
Gracias maestro por su sabiduría amplio mi horizonte de posibilidades, saludos grandes desde Quito Ecuador👹⚡🎸

Sensacional amigo

Hi Jason great lesson. How do you get a great metal tone at bedroom level? I love your sound in your lessons.thankyou from steve in Australia .
Dude, that EVH amp is just incredible!!
It sounds totally different, but still sounds like it could be Dokken or Ratt. That would be a riff that’s original but in the style of Dokken.
Yeah, it does keep that same 80s edge!!
I love Dokken, but I don't know any Dokken riffs. I am done for LOL
Lol...gotta learn a little Dokken!!
I thought your first riff that contained the first 2 notes of the Dokken riff sounded best and was different enough to not be a rip-off.
That was the goal...try to use that Dokken riff as inspiration without replicating it!
Sounds different
It's cool what you can come up with once you start adding other notes to riffs!
@@jasonstallworth I agree
dude your fretboard is so dirty sounds like a megadeth riff but still yours
Yep, a little Dokken and Megadeth...classic 80s!
Like how you snuck your cd in there Lol
Shameless plug! :)
