Most of the important history have already been told in this video.
There are many other ethnic groups that are still waiting in the queue so it might take a long time for a detailed video on Mien people.

My criticism is that this is a bit one-dimensional. The reason being that there were other tribes. Because the worldview of Hmong-Americans and southeast-Hmong, is that there are no others and that there's just Hmong and Hmong-chinese.
It's time to break that misconception that the world didn't revolve around Hmong. There were many other tribes you can go over. They include major tribes such as, A-Hmao, Gho-Xiong, and the largest tribe, Hmub. The HM consonant is a clue and not a coincidence.
The Hmub is also known as black hmong. Hmong labeled every other dialect and related tribes as Hmong and their color affiliation. This is something that should be done away with seeing as Hmong loves to be self-identified correctly.
The Hmub rebelled against the Chinese most and calling them Hmong is doing a disservice to them, such as Zhang Xiumei (Tsaab Xyooj Mem) and Wu Bayue. (Vwj Paj Yias). Yes, notable figure names are spelled using Pinyin which confuses Hmong.
There's a statue of Zhang Xiumei in Taijiang, literally carved under it their own RPA writing system.
This is fascinating as hell and should be common knowledge. Hmong have no more excuse to be lost about their history. It's due time to go back and learn our lost history alongside others.
History does repeat itself, such as when Hmong refuses to fight for independence and only wants it, they run each time after the fact. There are important questions like why didn't the other tribes migrate with Hmong into Southeast asia. And the Secret war, why are there twice more Hmong in Laos than America currently. And most importantly, there are more Hmong in China. In conclusion, Hmong need to get off their high horse and tell their history correctly and stop selling snake oil and regurgitating American news on Hmong TV. Make a drama or an animation series about Hmong or something.
On a side note you can research
Wang Zhiming And Pa Chay Vue.

Yes there are sub-Miao tribes, however calling the rest of them Hmong as a Hmong person isn't necessarily wrong. All the Miao languages are mostly mutually intelligible, it's just that there are strong accents and some vocab differences. Culturally we also still share a lot of common things as well as religious aspect?

@Transiently Wow, such a nice long wall of text, and the longest out of all of the comments posted in all of the videos by EastAsia Origin right now. Stop persecuting Hmong people, please.
And really, who cares? Who's gonna read this? You, me, EastAsia Origin, and a tiny few others. Who's interested in Hmong history? A tiny few... out of billions of people.
And you got some information wrong, but why should I point this out to you? There are bigger problems in life than this, folks. Relax.
It's funny how people get mad at the tiniest little things that nobody knows or cares about. And it has to be in this video with a few thousand views. Epic.
"Hmong need to get off their high horse"
Hmong people were never on their high horse. That's like me saying, "Lakota people need to get off their high horse." It just makes you look bad.
      "mr. American."
That just says a lot about you. Just shows a complete lack of understanding of Hmong Americans, and Hmong people in general. I could criticize you even more on what you said, but there's no point.
