      Hard disagree with your basic assessment of what constitutes a high level tennis match. Both QFs were actually rather boring. Neither Olive Oil nor Dimintor were truly competitive until it was far too late & even then too many points would still end on UEs. Death of the 1HB can't come soon enough. Meddy vs Demon R4 had long rallies. Zverev's matches have all been way more interesting. Even Kneevax's R3 & R4 matches were way more noteworthy. Janhip & Carlitear barely faced any real competition except for the teabreak sets.

Quite uncompetitive at a stage where the quality should be increasing. Even the various commentators were unimpressed. If I were Hubi, I'd be pissed for letting that R4 match slip away only to see Grigor acquiesce yet again to Janhip.

  • @NEO_NEO_777

    The only way Dimitrov was winning this encounter, was if he re-activated his "Neo-backhand" and went absolutely ballistic like Wawrinka did against a shell-shocked Djokovic at FO'15.
    Dimi thought he could slice, dice, and volley his way to a victory against someone like Sinner. Bad strategy.

      Not a wholly accurate picture of what went wrong. Lack of competitiveness for 2/3 sets. Flat, no energy, no clear purpose or plan, no real intensity. The backhand was completely off the boil for most of the match. By the time the hair transplant victim decided how he wanted to play, it was too late. Yes, Janhip & Carlitear overpowered Grigorious & Shanksipas' 1HBs, but both Diminted & Twistypast were defeated before the matches began.

    I like Sinner but does he have to racquet pump after every point LOL! Congrats on being new number 1 well earned and deserved!

      It’s little better than Carlos who mouths vamos with pouting of lips after every point. Yet they both are so young and so talented, and well behaved too!

      Instead of screaming and shouting each time he wins a game or set, he just distributes the amount of joy evenly on each point, I call it fair :)

    From these highlights we learn:
    1 - each second on youtube is very expensive;
    2 - RG can't show 10+ shots rallies otherwise it would take half of the video;
    3 - some octopuses are smarter then the guy selecting the points to be shown here;
    4 - intro and ending take 1/4 of the whole video.

    Just one simple thought: The one handed backhand is a liability for any player that wants to compete for the biggest titles.

    Dimitrov has a mental block in high pressure matches. He loses far too easily against the best players or in the finals.
