  • @lazios
    @lazios 4 месяца назад +8

    I don't read much regarding that, but, in addition to a better stamina (less than 2 years ago, he still would go in trouble 3/5), what Sinner has improved a lot is his serve: he has a very good first (which can also push if he wants to), a solid second-ball, and more in general can vary his trajectories a lot (where to serve basically), before, if he didn't put the first, it would go in trouble, now is hard break him (hopefully it will help at Wimbledon).
    Anyway, in the semi it will be tough, on clay Alcaraz it's stronger (for now), which doesn't mean the Spaniard will win easy, it means that still has something more (what Sinner seems to have more on hard surfaces).
    That said, good for the tennis, otherwise after Federer's retirement, Rafa's near-retirement and Nole who starting to have some serious problem (years pass for everyone), we would have risked to have bad times (not so good let's say), instead thanks to this guys, we have a (possible) new great rivalry (of course, repeating what Roger, Rafa and Nole did is impossible, but at least we have 2 truly champions).

    It’s interesting to see old baby fed playing against current top players as we can imagine how Federer would have fared against them. Even if Sinner seems to handle pretty well Dimitrov’s slice, we can still see that it disturbs him though. Win well deserved. Dimitrov lost due to playing one handed backhand. Alcaraz must have watched Sinner, attacking the backhand as much as possible. Either Dimitrov, Tsitsipas and others find a new way how to play the one handed backhand or they will have huge problems going forward.

      Stupid comment. It is their style of playing and you can easily win with a one handed bh. How did Wawrinka win his three GS, with a triple handed backhand? If you are not committed a 100%,you lose. Dimitrov has never been committed on the big stages, except one time as he won the finals. And his bh is much more stable than the greek's.

    As an Italian I hope players as Dimitrov will always compete. There are champion in titles and champions in style. For me style makes the difference and Gregor is style

      So agree, Dimitrov style of play is a work of art, a pleasure to watch more so then the big hitter game can be predictable viewing.😊

    Was something wrong with Dimitrov? He seemed to lack the fighting spirit, aggressiveness and desire of a true competitor.
    Sinner was great, but Dimitrov didn't even try to chase most of the difficult balls and looked like a tired and beaten old dog. Maybe he had a mild injury, physical or mental exhaustion or something.
    In any case, excellent job by Sinner. A worthy, classy, inspiring number one.

    Sinner concentrated 70% of the time during the match, which was enough to win today.
    But against Alcaraz 70% is not enough, Sinner will have to give much more

    it feels like I'm watching a video at 8x speed, I almost struggle to follow the ball, incredible, the games played 30 years ago, despite being fantastic players, seem to be going in slow motion. Even if today's athletes are fantastic, I don't know if this is the tennis I prefer, I don't think so, but unfortunately today's society is increasingly exasperated, and so is sport!

    I think Alcaraz is better than Sinner on clay ... Sinner is better on concrete....on grass fifty fifty...currently Zverev is the only player that can win a slam if Sinner or Alcaraz are in good shape.

      Jannik is not at his best. He is coming back from an injury that kept him away from the courts for a few weeks. In my opinion he is not even at 80%. Carlitos, Zverev and Ruud can beat him
