The funny thing about surf music is that most of it sounds like it's all from the same mould. It can get pretty boring after a while. But then along come The Sandals and create this amazing piece. It's tight, it's fast, it's dramatic, and it's timeless. The whole song screams action and throws you over the crest and drags you through the barrel. At the end of the video you're surprised that you're not dripping with saltwater.
This is like the only kind of music I make. Whenever I touch a guitar, somehow only '60s surf music comes out. The most beautiful, beautiful surf music you've ever heard. It's a blessing, but also a curse.

@thesandalsband I went the the website for the movie, and through the speakers comes an absolutely gorgeous slower tempo version of this song, What a treat!!.
That was the very original version recorded first take. we recorded the whole album in two nights.. today it takes bands two nights to get the kick drum sound figured out.. hahaha..

At the end of endless summer 2 right after the scene where laird almost hits a helicopter ("have a little laird-burger"). There is this reminiscing scene with a very mellow/melancholic guitar song playing in the background (right before the 'endless summer theme' that plays with the movie-score), It doesnt't seem to be featured in the soundtrack. If anyone could tell me what this track is, I would be insanely gratefull.
Where was this video shot? It seems like cosatal wetlands in California. Multiple takes as some skies are a June Gloom morning and others are clear sunny blue skies.
