This vid is DA BOMB DIGGITY! Me and my dad visited Shanghai last summer for the very 1st time and it's beautiful. We stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai New World in People's Square and it was only $93 per night, which is not bad at all. In addition, we visited Ministry of Crab restaurant and the Olive Oil & Soy Sauce Grilled Chicken is out of this world! (the prices were a bit steep, but we didn't care because we were hungry lol). Although we've gotten a lot of stares and had people wanting to take pics of us (and I think I know why lol), we still had the time of our lives in Shanghai.
Great review, thank, I'll get Shanghai tomorrow, I'll check those places out.
BTW what's the best vpn ? I need it just for RUclips
I can't wait to go back to Shanghai!!
welcome back! did you learn anything ?

Hello buddy. I will be using Airbnb in Shanghai. Would you mind me asking where to register as tourist in Pudong Airport or in Downtown Shanghai? Whay time will the PSBs or police stations open? Thank you.
I would suggest you to register at the place where you live, I don't know if you can register at Pudong Airport.
i love your videos i will be in shanghai in a couple of weeks, hope to meet you 😄
welcome to the most amazing city 🙌🏻

Hey hey hey, you know what we've been waiting for... The 2020 edition! As a frequent visitor to the city, I love your guide!
Looking forward to visiting Shanghai this winter
You forgot Disneyland 🥺
yeah, you think its worth a visit ?
Cool video! I definitely use this as a guide for my trip in October, thanks!
thanks ! what else would you like to see from the city?
@@DETTMARMagnus I don't know, just have a week on me, so I think most of what you showed in the video covers it. Tack igjen!
I so love this guy. Been binge-watching his channel. Great and quality content.
Thanks brother, very much appreciated 🙌🏻 What more would you like to see?
I would love to see you featuring some day trip destinations near Shanghai (e.g. Zhujiajiao, Hangzhou, Suzhou, etc.). 😊
Hello Dettmar,
Really cool video ! Can you tell me please the name of the street at minute 9:30 and the corner at minute 9:00 ? Thank you :)
sorry I dont know the street name, but if you go to Nanjing pedestrian street, look at the bund and then all of the streets are on the left. Super cool area 🙌🏻
@@DETTMARMagnus
Thank you for your answer :). But why do you prefer the streets on the left ? What is with the streets on the right ? Do not you like them ? I love Shanghai, have been there 4 times and work with Shanghai even when I'm not there. New construction projects, new restaurants, new cafes, all sorts of developments in the city and watch videos on youtube shanghai every week to see how people stage this city, portray it, accompany it with music and everything that belongs to the artistic field around Shanghai to put a small monument :). And I've been watching your Shanghai films with my girlfriend for years, and most of all, she's passionate about your style, your demeanor, and how you portray everything. You've become more and more professional over time :). We really want to go back to Shanghai and look forward to seeing great videos about this fantastic city. That's why I wanted the names of the places from you, because in the blue hour in the evening the best lights, colors and pictures are created. And the street and the corner that I mentioned, were super set up by you. Perfect :).
Go check out BOR EATERY
what's that ?
@@DETTMARMagnus Nordic kind of restaurant of Anfu Lu/Wukang Lu. The Head Chef Kasper is Danish and make wonderful food. Check it out on BONAPP
Hey buddy that was really amazing and had lot of information.. Can you recommend me with indian restaurants out there?
Thanks brother! I have actually not had Indian food since I came to Shanghai, very strange I know but it's not super popular here. Let me get back to you on that one! what else do you want to see?
@@DETTMARMagnus okay thank you.. Actually i have 2 days to roam Shanghai so please suggest me as to what should be my priority to visit?
This channel is so understated
haha thanks 🙏🏼Please share to make it bigger 😉❤
@@DETTMARMagnus I subscribed to your channel but got desubscribed today. I guess your channel is also "democracized"
Great work. Thanks for your sharing, it is also very helpful for local Chinese.
thanks! really, what is your favorite place in Shanghai ?😀
@@DETTMARMagnus I didn't visit a lot in Shanghai. But I think The Bund is the best (it's free 😄). I think the best part of your video is that you also shared lots of interesting and valuable places which are not that famous but definitely worth to visit. I am planning to visit these places based on your instructions. Great work, thanks.
Thương hải thành phố đẹp nhất thế giới
Super helpful. Love it!
Hej
Uppdaterar snarast i kommentarsfältet!
going there next month am super excited
You put a lot of work into this, thanks.

Great idea about visiting the Shanghai model first. While living in Shenzhen I never got a sense of how the city was layed out. Learned it at ground level years ago. I'd imagine it is more cohesive there now.
If you are doing the filming editing and production on this.. WOW! great sense and sensibility. Looking forward to more and yes Fashion video. I think you could pull it off.
Thank you sooo much for that comment ! I have only been to Shenzhen once but I loved it, are you in the tech business ? Haha thanks I'll get in more to fashion soon!
@@DETTMARMagnus Yes I saw that video when you interviewed Serpentza in Shenzhen. I was there from 2002 to 2005 when the first leg of their subway opened.
No not in tech but speaking of that, what are the current/best translating apps for Mandarin to English and back? I remember people were kind and happy with even my most terrible attempts at speaking the language.
Mark
How da' f*ck are you 30? No way!!
its sience you know
Is there a steakhouse ?
el bodegon, try it, its AMAZING meat
I’ve only been to the bund and Xi Tiandi since I used to work there... Your video makes me missing Shanghai so much
For the bar side I would nominate Sober Company; pretty agree with the club recommendations.
thank you.
滴,打卡……

I haven't been there sorry, why do you want to know more about that city?
Soon I come to that place for my job
Hey I’m going to Shanghai in dec, I heard there are very few English speaking people there, is that true? Also I’m staying at a hotel, will they be able to direct me so some of the places you suggested?
Wait I am Shanghainese who grew there, so I feel like very qualified for answering this question.
First, don't worry about speaking English in China, especially Shanghai. The younger generations had gone through some very rigorous English education, though I do think they are still lacking on the speaking side. If you are kind enough to phrase your questions into shorter sentences with fewer words, say "How can I get to XXX" instead of "So we are looking for the XXX, and we really don't know where it is and we tried XXX and XXX but can you show us XXX". They will be able to direct you in a much efficient way.
Second, I know that you might not necessarily have access to Google Maps since a VPN is required, but if you are using an iPhone, their built-in map is an awesome native substitute for Google Map that works very well for guidance. I would trust this app more than the front desk at your hotel because they can at best give you a paper map and draw you the directions. Traveling in Shanghai is more about subways/undergrounds than anything. You want to locate a nearby subway station for your target location, and that's why it is important to have a good real-time map that tells you where you are.
If you are using an Android, I think your best guess would be to prepare a list of locations you wanna go in Chinese, and download this app called Baidu Map "百度地图". It has been years since I used it so I am not sure if it is now available in English as well, but the list of locations in Chinese is just there to be safe so you don't get lost when you don't have access to google.
In case if you need English search without relying on Google, Bing international is your best alternative in China.
Kusakabe Mirai thank you so much for this information!!! Big help!!!
Amazing video
