Fallon needs to cool it. He's taking over the anecdote from a guy like Pine who doesn't need the help. Pine knows how to tell a story and deliver a great punchline. Fallon has become irritating on The Tonight Show. He was so much better as a late night host.

I get frustrated, every time I watch these interviews!
Just some tips for Jimmy Fallon from an audience member:
1. Ask questions, don't make statements all the time.
2. Don't interrupt when smbd. is talking. (That's rude by simple etiquette rules.)
3. Let the guest tell about news/movie/song/play/celebrity friends and etc. (Hearing from 1st person is more interesting and believable, than the observer.)
4. It's not necessary every time to do impression, joke or flatter other person. It's just too much.
Otherwise, hats off. J. Fallon, you're very talented person and I admire that.

Guys chris pines hair style is due to the film "the finest hours" a 1952 coast guard rescue movie. Hence the hair cut he plays real life coast guard rescuer Bernie Webber who lead a 4 man crew to rescue 32 men on a boat that could only fit 12 men. It's an amazing true story that Disney are producing. Which is why he was allowed to promote into the woods and horrible bosses 2. But could not go to the new York premier due to filming.
I would say that he won't cut his hair until star trek so they can work with it, there is no point in cutting it off if he is going to start filming star trek in the next month or 2.
The people who have been doing his hair have tried to make it look modern but it only really makes him look boyish.

Yeah but then it's not exciting. If Jimmy asked a question and then didn't have any inputs on what the guest is saying, it would seem more like an interview, not a casual conversation, which is key to a late night talk show.

He doesn't yet realize he's not there to have a conversation and one-up the guest. His job is to present the guest in the best light possible and be quiet or have complimentary reactions. Watch Johnny Carson - he always knew when to chime in and when to hush because he knew where the story was going.
What is it about Maryl Streep? As soon as her name comes up it's like big news and everyone is praising her.. shes a good actress but never understood the hype.

I think Jimmy is a great host in general but I do agree with others that he needs to stop stealing punchlines from other people. That's their story to tell, not his. he talks a lot because that's part of his image and his personality. Joke stealing needs to go though.
