Jimmy Fallon Reminisces on Pitching an SNL Sketch to Mick Jagger- Late Night with Seth Meyers

Late Night with Seth Meyers

I don’t dislike Jimmy when he’s hosting, but seeing him as a guest was refreshing!! If he could take some of this vibe into his own show it would make it better for sure.
Jimmy Fallon's actually pretty funny on the other side of the desk.
Haha, I was just thinking - I think this is the first time I've liked Jimmy Fallon!
So the same as always, then
Annanya Johari Your right & has great stories to tell.👍😊
Jimmy Fallon isn’t this funny when he’s the host
funnt? you mean like kamala harris, america's fun aunt?
Seth is such a polite and charming host
I love Jimmy Fallon because he's always so kind to people, even in his humor. I know that most people don't like that about him---they think he's fake---but it's pretty artful to see him turn Seth's insult about Well's low status to a story that makes Wells seem like a god.
Exactly! It's lovely and genuinely heartwarming to see the way Jimmy puts everyone on his show at ease without appearing judgemental of them the way a lot of other "serious" comedians/hosts are, no matter what his personal opinion of his guest is. That's professionalism through and through, and it's sad to see criticism of that very quality packaged as Jimmy being too easygoing on some questionable characters. His brand is literally lighthearted fun, and if folks want to watch somebody get grilled then they're watching the wrong show and complaining about it too.
I don't think Seth was insulting Wells. Seth was just trying to say that as an SNL worker, you expect to be able to meet hollywood superstars and have interactions with singers and actress, but instead, he is interacting with athletes which is unexpected to the assumptions of the job. He wasn't insulting Wells, just saying how odd it was.
lmao after john mulaney’s stage show seems like nobody wanted to pitch jokes to mick jagger on snl, tough crowd
Maya Hayes not funny!!
why's that? what did John Mulaney do?
@@izzymcpher2929 Go watch his latest standup, radio city, he has a bit about working with mick on snl. the punch line is "not funny!!" which is why you see all the comments here saying that
Maya Hayes Jimmy's story is from way before John Mulaney's.
Jimmy as a guest >>>>>>> Jimmy as a host lmao
hahahaha agree
Only when he has famous people or snl to talk about.
100%
That what I was thinking, it's so refreshing to see him like that
More and more I think the producers at the Tonight Show micro manage the crap out of him. He was wonderful in Late Night
Sat through over 5mins of Jimmy Fallon and didn't hear *that* laugh! Thoroughly enjoyed this!
Marcus Chan Not hearing his laugh is a good thing? You people are all so weird!
His forced, fake laugh that he does when he's interviewing people? Yeah, not hearing that is a great thing.
"HISTORY" hahaha
It was enjoyable
@@jauipop I'm still put off by it at times, but I've never thought of it as forced or faked. Honestly I don't know why he ever was labeled that way. It comes across exactly the same as someone nervous to not appear affable while talking to someone they don't know that well, so they involuntarily keep laughing because we all subconsciously know that's a sign of friendliness. So many people are guilty of having similar mannerisms that it's hard to believe a lot of the hate thrown at him comes after any sort of honest reflection.
There's still an obvious argument that it's difficult or even annoying to watch, and a poor behavioral trait for a talk show host to have. But "forced" and "fake" just seem like unfair criticisms, and personally I find him pretty relatable now.
I gotta say it’s kinda refreshing to see Jimmy not interrupting and/or laughing every goddamn second
And he is such a great storyteller
Bullcrap McGee So how is your show? I’m sure you have one since you seem to know so much about how to host one. 😳🙄
Debbie Gross
That is a pretty childish response.
Hopefully he got it out of his system.
Yes I’m Blessed I can't EVER understand this line of reasoning. We all have likes and dislikes. Why do we have to be able to do the same thing Fallon is doing in order to have an opinion on it? That is such myopic thinking.
I saw the SNL clip. When you first see Jimmy as Mick’s mirror reflection, I heard collective laughter and gasping at the same time. Almost like everyone expected Mick to be ticked, but as the clip progressed it was obvious Mick was enjoying himself and trying not to crack up at Jimmy’s incredible impression which made this clip even funnier. 😂
Jimmy is so good as a guest more than be a host
fiore3ky Speak for yourself! Jimmy has Higgins and the Roots and includes them often. The only host to do that. I think y’all are just jealous!
fiore3ky stole the words right outta my mouth pal!
@@debbiegross3136 To do what? Have a sidekick and a band?
Jimmy is a great storyteller. His best moments are when he tells stories, makes you feel like you were there.
Best Mick Jagger quote: "NOT FUNNYYYYYY!!!!"
hahhahahaha looking for this comment
Damn ,young Seth Meyer is cute!
In my mind, I always thought Seth looked the same... funny how the mind can play tricks on you, lol
Lara de Paula Magaldi Toscano Martelotta -Yes. I love his dimples.
Jimmy Fallon is WAYYY cuter
Yeah if you like guys that look like they get into back alley fights in Boston suburbs. He looks way better now
I think the pressure of hosting kind of weighs on someone's personality and the reason Jimmy seems, frankly more amiable on the other side, is because there is less pressure.
The Mick/Jimmy sketch is one of my favorite SNL skits. ❤️
"Its a bit stale."
Love how everyone screamed when young Jimmy came on. He was maddd cute
Jimmy is very different as guest. Not interrupting, slightly more serious, and less fake laughing.
Pandas are cool He's scared of boring people and losing their attention.
It helps that he's talking with his old coworker from SNL. When Horatio Sanz was on Fallon they both had a good flow also.
young jimmy and seth omgggg 😍
Ted and barney from another world
extremely underrated comment
The stories those late 90s early 00s SNL cast members must have...one of them needs to start a podcast reminiscing of those days
Lol as soon as Lorne shut down jimmy's idea, I was like oh man that's the only one Mick Jagger's gonna like huh
The sketch they’re talking about is one of my favorite sketches ever lol
Jimmy's eye brows is to die for
On fleek girl 😉
anna paulina castillo yeahhhhhh
Tanyahachi 07 they're just eyebrows lol
which one
then perish
Seth and Jimmy look so young :) And it was a great story!
5:07 A one-word impression of Horatio Sanz which pretty well nails it...
"I pitched a perfect game hungover."-David Wells
"Hold my mushrooms."-Dock Ellis
Jimmy, you are really like everyones best friend ☺️
I have watched SNL my whole life, starting with my grandparents in Iowa when we would visit them and they were watching reruns of the old episodes. Many EPIC comedians have worked that stage, but Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers are like my 2 really distant and really funny big brothers…! I’m 42 and kinda feel like I grow up with them! I love y’all, thank you for making me laugh til my sides hurt constantly through the years, and hope you two and your families are doing great.
Lovveeeeee Jimmy!!! Phenomenal host AND guest!!! So funny
Seth looked exactly like his brother back then
Sometimes I forget that Jimmy actually has some personality
John Mulaney has a great bit about pitching snl jokes to Mick Jagger
You guys are FREAKING AWESOME! Love you both!
Finally Jimmy can talk about himself without it just being interrupting
That is how he likes it.
*Lol the Sarcasm is Strong in this one*
Two of my fav hosts together and nailed the show! awesome!
Why cant fallon be like this on the tonight show?
maybe he gets nervous and he acts like that
@@christopherrusch i figured he'd be more nervous being a guest then he would be for his day job
Hi I’m mark Summers, welcome to What Would you Do? And Double Dare
Jimmy F is such a good story teller
Jimmy couldn’t stop as usual, he is a great guest
Young Jimmy looks like Damon from the vampire diaries
This was awesome I love stories that involve alcohol and late nights
Jimmy is a good story teller
This video feels like a parallel universe where Jimmy Fallon became a really great, amazing comedian/performer instead of a talk show host and came on the show as a guest. I wish he would have kept being a sketch show featured player, I'm sure people would like him quite a bit more.
A late night host is hosted by a late night host.
utubrGaming AND I SHALL PROCLAIM THIS... META AF
"what is this? a crossover episode?"
We need to go deeper
Love when these two chat
Omg you guys were so adorable!
That David Wells story made me wanna start drinking again. Thank you Jimmy!
Its great story but it's just a story. Wells perfect game was in 1998. Neither of these guys were on SNL at the time.
So David Wells pitched a nohitter AFTER being completely OBLITERATED the night before at an SNL after party? Bet THAT story doesn't make the cut during the Cooperstown highlight reel
BH Ramsay He's previously admitted it in his book.
Not just a no-hitter. A *perfect* game: no walks, no errors. 27 up, 27 down, nobody even reaches base by any loophole. Only the 15th ever in Major League history (vs. the 245th no-hitter that is still noteworthy). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Wells%27_perfect_game cites some other sources for him pitching hung-over, including Wells mentioning in an interview that he partied with Fallon and Meyers the night before.
HOLY FCK! 🤯🤯🤯
There was one guy in the 1970's that pitched a no hitter while on acid.
Everytime I came back to listen the history about David Wells, nad always it's makes me laugh 😂😂
Love jimmy!, and Seth! 👍👍👍🤣✌️
Classic skit, had to go watch it again. 😂
Mick jagger really made an impression on everyone at snl
"How about this idea, Mick?"
*"Not funny!"*
"Ok, well how about this one?"
.....
*"Yeaaah!"*
What I wouldn’t give to have attended one of those late night parties.
5:30 "He owes me everything." Let's not get ahead of ourselves Jimmy! (great story)
ahah that David Wells story was too funny! 🤣
Jimmy Fallon was such a great guest haha he’s great
I LOVE JIMMY! HOSTING AND GUEST
This is pretty much the exact story John Mulaney told on his special; "NOOOOOO".... "YEEEEESSS".
You GOTTA have David Wells on The Tonight Show now Jimmy! I have to hear that story from him 😂 🙌🏾
Mirror sketch was classic.
I like how they talk about 3 real accomplishments and they don't get any applause untill they talk about doing something that anybody can do... have 2 babies
As soon as he said he turned on the TV and Wells was pitching, I knew where he was going with it. I've heard that he came into that game after a late night of drinking.
So there you go kids. If you want to be a good baseball pitcher be sure to drink lots just hours before the big game!
ElmerFuddGun don’t forget Dock Ellis who pitched a perfect game while high on LSD
Starts by telling us how he pitched Mick Jagger. Ended by telling us how David Wells pitched a no-hitter.
0:26
You two were both Awesome! :)
and cute... hehe
amazing story telling mojo Jimmy! Do this more often, dude. You've got a great knack. i said it: KNAck. for story telling. please . You owe it to Mick and David Wells. Please. For their sake.
Jimmy's necks not used to turning this way lol 🤭
Love Jimmy.
Oh jeez, back when seth was 'kinda blonde' still- so young
Jimmy as a guest is awesome haha
You look marvelous Seth... You too Jimmy....
Wow I was waiting on this....
I’m just here to see the John Mulaney references
Jimmy is the best!
Wells and the perfect game - hungover.
Like Doc Ellis throwing a no-hitter tripping on acid.
Seth Meyers in that SNL clip though !!!
awh jimmy as a guest is adorable
530 in the morning... Perfect game... Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
That’s a great story!!!
This was so flipping CUTE!!!!!!!
They kinda do look the same - except Jimmy has a fuller face and Seth is a pre-silver fox
lol
cazia9: Pre-silver Fox is a great description. Seth’s a very nice looking man, but most of the time I don’t really notice because I’m so captivated by his charm and graciousness.
@@maryrosekent8223 same here, he really is a charmer 😍
So refreshing to hear Jimmy talk, and not his fake laughter
7/5/2019 Seth is doing impressions now. So funny :)
MICK IS PROUD OF THIS IMPRESSION OF HIM
hahahaha love this
TWO BABIES
he actually told his audience this story during one of his shows this year. Funny that he brought it up on tv
This is amazing....well not amazing...but it’s interesting to hear him talk
Wow. Seth and Jimmy were good looking in their twenties!
young seth is fiiineee
How come Jimmy is funnier as a guest than on his own show
I like this one so much, lmaof
David wells perfect game was in May 1998 jimmy and horatio weren't on SNL until September 1998
Why did I just discover this vid all late about it lol
Seth looked golden gosh
Wow that david wells story thats crazy!
The real mirror image of Seth Meyers is Josh Meyers. Check the show when Seth had his brother on -- and get ready to plotz.
Jimmy had a bit of Justin Long thing going back in the day; Seth looked like his first gig was The Mickey Mouse Club (ie, adorable).
so good when Fallon isn't forced to laugh and be a part of pop culture. he is an interesting and charismatic guy but he's made a persona for himself on the tonight show that a lot of people (myself included) don't like
Foreshadowing that Seth might be the host of the Tonight show in the future?
Nice vid eth. Congrat on your new baby boy. If I had a cigar I'd give it to you.
