I'm a Californian and this is WAY TOO accurate! Of course I don't live there anymore. I just took the 5 north to the 405, got off on Imperial Blvd, went to LAX, got on a flight a flew away... Oh and I was shocked how LAX wasn't jyammed!
Totally Bro. I left California too. Bro, I took the 101 south from Hollywood. Took the onramp on Cahuenga headed south. At the 10/5 interchange, I went left and hit I-10 east. I thought of maybe getting the 60 east instead but it was jammed packed so I stayed on the 10 instead. So hawpy I did.
This sketch makes me want to move out of California. But then I just look out the window and laugh and then go back to eating my organic Spanish bean chips from the Ralphs Pavilion off the 405
Well, Mick was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield, Listening to gospel music on the colored radio station, And the preacher said, "You know you always have the Lord by your side!", And Mick was so pleased to be informed of this that he ran Twenty red lights in his honor...

Stuart is a good host. In every episode he comes home to the rival for his wife just casually hanging out in his living room. He always has the decency to wait for an explanation and never kicks Devon out. WHAT A GENTLEMAN!!!!
He does try to kick Devon out a lot. A few examples would be telling him to leave by getting on the 405 until he can’t take it anymore, or to get on Riddlers revenge and never get off.
I'm from LA but i'm in korea for the time being but watching this makes me feel really homesick because they actually got the streets and stuff right lol.
You are a person of my heart for appreciating geographic realism in TV / film. I wouldn't call their geography "perfect", but it is generally more accurate than most works of fiction and was clearly researched. All the streets are in about the right place and the sense of traffic / what takes a long time is spot on. If you really really dig a geographically accurate piece of film, Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and Before Midnight works are spot on.
I for one am a little surprised. How come Kate McKinnon won the Emmy when Kristen Wiig never did in 7 years? I mean I like them both, but the difference is so evident! Kate is really really good, but she's not even close to Kristen Wiig. I know it was not a competition between the two of them but Kisten Wiig deserved to be the first one winning an Emmy in this category.
Absolutely Kristen did deserve one, but to say that Kristen is way better is ridiculous. On Kristen's time and on Kate's time now they're both one of if not the greatest performers, with the widest range of talents. Be sad Kristen never got one, but don't cut down someone as talented as Kate in order to do so. Especially when together they're absolutely brilliant, like in Ghostbusters and in this most recent episode of SNL, particularly Whiskers R We.

Its fun seeing them try to out "Cali-speak" each other and seeing who breaks character first and which one of them can compose themselves. It's basically a try not to laugh contest.
Can confirm. There's literally one highway (the 1) through all of Monterey county 😂😂 weekend traffic is impossible, esp into Carmel when getting off at Cabrillo. The streets are all tiny and there's no parking hahaha
Living in California, I imagine the roads when they talk about how to get there and it’s funny. Taking a right on Hillhurst and left on Griffith park will take you to Western not on the 5 hahaha!

This is such a funny skit, and Mick really pulled the accent off. I've honestly never seen him break character in any SNL skits. I never fully got these skits being from Florida. But my family and I have been driving from seattle to San Diego and anytime someone gave us directions it was literally just like they do it in this skit!

That’s probably true. I was born here in California and I’ve lived here my whole life. However half of my family was in New York and I always liked that side of the family better than the ones out here.
Watching Mick Jagger concentrate so hard on his California accent is like watching my dog walk backwards. Endearing, impressive and oddly satisfying.
