He even flashed her a dirty look after the Ann Taylor reference. Most hosts never look away from the cue cards. For a person who has never done this type of show before, he killed it.

"Shut up" lol that always kills me. Thank God for RUclips as they don't screen SNL in the UK. Bill Hader and the other chap (sorry!) do the Sex Pistols / Clash sound really well considering they're American. And Hader's cockney accent is impeccable.
+Cloud Cuckoo Well, Fred Armisen (the other chap) was in punk band in the 90s. He is really a big fan of punk counterculture. Plenty of his skits, alongside Hader, revolving around his punk music influence.
Haders not actually playing, I'm not sure if Fred Armisen is playing here, because there are no mics on the kit but he can actually play pretty well. As Brian said, Fred was in a punk band.
Yep. Armisen is great. I haven't seen him show up on Seth Meyer's show in a while but he has subbed in Seth's Late Night band a bunch of times on drums and guitar. Would love to see him back.
@@Random_Wierdo. Well, its because Ann Taylor is the kind of clothing which, for the lack of better words, would be worn by a mid level career woman. Like a manager. Someone who is important, but looking to be MORE important. In other words, still climbing the ladder of her success. Ann Taylor is known as a brand that specializes in clothes that are in fashion but a more subdued version of it. Her clothes are very...well, corporate uniform. Something a woman would wear because she feels she HAS to for her job, not because she WANTS to or that it would be her personal style. Naturally, one would assume a queen would wear an ensemble by a top designer. And of course, custom made and not off the rack.

Fred's ear for music is so fluid and it makes me love his soul even more. Also hearing Elton John singing punk, knowing he is from England and was a huge front runner in the music world by the time punk came along gets me in a musically vibrant feel. Looked like it gave him a moment of mild catharthis being able to perform this way, even for a minute.
Elton's sense of humor is so cool, he's a nice comedian and he doesn't care making fun of himself... Fred and Bill, as always cracking me off with that cockney accent.
The only punk 'song' ever without swear words. These SNL guys have seriously nailed those cockney accents. Honestly the best performance I've ever seen by Americans. And they kept them going through the entire sketch.

They got Sir Elton to sing punk rock like how do you not just appreciate that on a comedic level?
They even got the queen
@@TheJimys7 Crazy! She's considerably more Cockney than I remember too.
Elton says in his new autobiography that he loves The Buzzcocks and he has a real good attitude, it's not really that far of a stretch, cool guy.
Im guessing they had the quiet button pressed at the request of Elton so he could land the line delivery.
comedic level appreciated!!!
Fred Armisen wrote this whole sketch so he could play drums for Elton John.
It wouldn't surprise me
100%
I believe that

It’s an even funnier line considering that Prince Philip wasn’t even born in the UK. 😆
