  • The Beauty of these FlyLight SSDR / Sub 70kg trikes fitted with Aeros wings is just how quick they are to rig and de-rig. In this video, I will show you how your aircraft can be ready to roll back into the hangover in a little over 10 minutes.

    Easy Peasy. You know what's easier? A hangar. Thanks for the video. I'm amazed at how many ideas wing manufacturers share.

      I’d love to be able to just roll the BivvyBee into the hangar when I’m done but there just isn’t enough room. To leave it rigged.

    • @wrdturkey
      @wrdturkey 11 месяцев назад +1

      Sure! Here in the USA we can just print money and send it out. LMAO! I am very luck to have the hangar I have and it very very cheap. It's one of the main reasons I don't move from here.

    Thanks for showing people just how easy and well designed these wings are to rig and de-rig. One hint I would like to share. On the first bolt you removed...the one on the mast... I put the bolt through my seat belt attachment. This way it lessens the chance of forgetting to put it in. Don't ask me how I know this. I can't wait to see how the NINE wing does.

    • @paulieb796

      I have come close to forgetting to put that bolt back in before going flying and only spotted it when I do my preflight inspection. Good idea to put the bolt somewhere visible. 👍

      @@paulieb796 Well it's another topless wing isn't it? Presumably the setup is going to be pretty similar as you say. You'll find out one way or another soon anyway. Looking forward to seeing it. 👍😁

    I really like that telescoping front strut. Wish North Wing would incorporate that feature in their trikes. Unfortunately, it's pretty difficult to get a FlyLight trike here in the US.

    • @paulieb796
      @paulieb796  11 месяцев назад +2

      It is possible to get Flylight trikes into the USA. I know Flylight and MicroMaintenance both export them overseas. 👍

    • @stone8597
      @stone8597 11 месяцев назад

      Aeros, the manufacture of the wing, also makes a trike called the ANT. I own one and there are a number of them in the States...you just have to be willing to wait for a couple of month for delivery. They're located in Ukraine, and even though they have the war going on, they're still able to produce a wonderful product.

      I’m importing a Nine into the US. Hasn’t happened yet, though, but hopefully it is relatively easy! There is a US Distributor.

    Another great video Paul. Hanger fees - one of the reasons why you fold your wing before you put it in the Hanger is to reduce your hanger fee. I know prices will differ Airport to Airfield, but what difference will there be parking an aircraft rigged or folded. Cheers fella.

    • @paulieb796
      @paulieb796  6 месяцев назад +1

      Simon, at my airfield, SSDR/sub 70 storage is about half the price of storage for a fully rigged flexwing.

    Thats what I hate about my trike, 35 mins the last time I folded and baged it.
    Got an new enclosed trailer and rebuilding my trike. This will allow two things, new trailer will allow not having to bag the wing or even roll it up if I keep trailer at the field and the trike rebuild will allow me to lower my wing staight down vs having to manuever it awkwardly under my front wheel.
    Cheers

      @paulieb796  5 месяцев назад

      That’s one of the best things about the Aeros wings and Flylight trikes. It’s so quick to rig & derig. I did initially plan on keeping my trike at home and trailering it to the airfield. That quickly became too much of a hassle! 👍

    Great to see how simple it is Paul, would it be suitable to transport by Road like this or best to remove the wing completely?

    • @paulieb796
      @paulieb796  11 месяцев назад

      Hi. It is possible to transport the trike with the wing on and folded back and I’ve seen it done. However it feels very too heavy to me with the wing still on the trike so whenever I transport mine by road, I always have the trike in a trailer and the wing on top of my car. 👍
