Props to you ladies for rolling the whole video without interruption. It’s a resonator guitar. Might I suggest “I’ve got to get sober” This man is changing the whole world with his music.
This man just hits ya in the feels. He just speaks as a fed up American. He sings for all of us....no thought of skin color, gender, or religous beliefs or political views...just Ameicans of every walk of life. Lets just be good human beings to each other. ❤
Kinda funny cause from what I've seen and felt when he says 'I wanna go home' from a guys perspective it's we want to go back to the lord and have the forever sleep, with women it's more so 'i wanna go home'. You know? 😅 really shows the state of our generation
In an interview with Glenn Beck, Glenn Beck asked Billy Graham who would be the next Billy Graham and Rev Graham said there would never be another like me, from now on people will have to take over what I have done all my life. I think with all my heart Oliver was one of those people Rev Graham was talking about
U know by now that is a resonator guitar, sometimes called a dobro. Has been around before electric music since its sound would carry to the back of a church or old music halls back then. It adds the power, my son plays one and it is awesome to hear.
I have that guitar, just a little more seasoned and I tended to use it with a pill-bottle slide after the influence of Blind Willie Johnson and Robert Johnson.
I'm a Colorado native. Our state has exploded with population and the concrete jungle sprawl has been noticeably insane these last 10 years. I believe Colorado Springs and Denver will be connected by sprawl in my lifetime. My hometown of Leadville is a place of solitude for now, even though the trustifarians, and yuppies have started to take over. 😅
From my perspective of this song a double entendre resonates with me based on the lyric “ Oh Lord, I want to go home” home meaning heaven. “What does a man profit” is a scripture from the Bible. When he says “I don’t think people PRAY anymore, that is exactly what he means!!! Praying to Jesus, to God the father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 2 Chronicles 7: 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
To paraphrase, he says grandpa is in the ground, grandson sells five generations land to a man out of town, then the trees go down and concreate goes in. Love ya'll reactions. Howdy from from Florida.
Not a native Coloradan and not there now but when we lived in Divide, going to the Springs was a BIG deal. Academy Blvd didn't even connect to the Academy. Circle Dr didn't circle...and there were a lot of small parks. Hellz theyve done the same to Woodland Park (class of '87)
Love the responses ladies! My belief - our society lacks God first & foremost. But our society also lacks Integrity, Morals, Principles & Ethics. We are so full of self-riteous indignation that we cannot see the forest for the trees. Common sense isn't so common anymore. He sings what I feel. Love Peace & All That Jazz. ❤
Grown up in the mountains above Golden, in '05 I put a gun to my head and pulled the trigger. 2 weeks later I adopted my Angel she saved my life. Really miss both of my girls. But they gave me some purpose in life
That cat fight was 2 women jumping a mom, whose daughter ran in to help her. I’d be proud if my daughter held up her duty, by cleaning those 2’s clocks.
good song relaxing he's a good singer but i fell down a rabbit hole a few days ago and i cant get out im hooked on this person and she is an angel please you need to react to this angel Lucy Thomas SINGING Hallelujah and you dont need to pause it just sit back and relax just maybe you 3 will be hooked aswel after hearing her she also sings with her little sister who is also an angel
Yeh a few people have mentioned it but you may have missed the second meaning to the line "lord take me home, I just wana go home" but with male suicide numbers it's not surprising we see this line differently to women. This song helps you feel a little less alone in that feeling and describes it better than any spoken description could
Greed is the root of all evil. I know after the fires in Hawaii, investors were coming in trying to buy up damaged property at Pennie’s on the dollar. Instead of trying to help these people rebuild they are thinking about making a profit.
It was for that had been in that family owning that land and it was handed down to the grandson he sold it he just wants to come back but it's all gone
The song is a reference to suicide I believe. He wants to go home. But hes staying cause of his dogs and The good Lord. Listen to the words more closely. He wants to go home but he knows he cant go out like that.
God LEADS the way in our lives .. it is not our job to sit and wait for the spirit. The lesson is to love and help each other. Too often we only do “God Talk” not God action…
The line "I want to go home" is a reference meaning that he is fed up with the new world and he just wants god to take him up to the heavens so he dont have to live and auffer through the terrible changes this world is going through.

Ayla Schofield does a duet remix on this song...her backup vocals & fiddle just adds to this song...takes it up 5 levels.
Her backup vocals and violin playing, really do add to an already great song. I think she should collaborate with him at a live show.
well now yall gotta check out his song 90s something chevy

I would like to believe that he means going back to a simpler time when things made sense.
I will second the vote for his song Virginia.
Good morning ladies😊 I'm listening to this one for the first time also. When y'all going live again?

He’s from Virginia…
It was for that had been in that family owning that land and it was handed down to the grandson he sold it he just wants to come back but it's all gone
I don't think he is talking about home as you think of it. He is taking about to be with the lord
Mt. 16:26
The song is a reference to suicide I believe. He wants to go home. But hes staying cause of his dogs and The good Lord. Listen to the words more closely. He wants to go home but he knows he cant go out like that.
Do understand he turned down an $8,000,000 music deal and remains independent
