The games in my head I'd like Nightdive take a swing at: No One Lives Forever (I know, its near impossible due to rights issues), Black&White, The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall, Under a Killing Moon, Starlancer, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Fallen, ... My craziest idea would be somehow they get ahold of the assets for Interplay's Star Trek: Secrets of Vulcan Fury and make the game. It has a script by D. C. Fontana and the final performances of most of The Original Series cast. Frustrating that was lost.
You can get no one lives for ever 2 as a free download if you search online ( getting a legit copy is impossible nowadays due to licensing) and it's such an incredible game it's a shame. More people need to play it.
Dude hell yes. Did you ever try the PlayStation version? I grew up with the N64 version, and playing the PlayStation one is like stepping into an alternate timeline. A fever dream of misremembered moments.
"Shadows of the Empire" would be worthwhile. With optional elements from both the PC and N64 versions, running at 60fps, I think that could make a lot of people happy. Bonus if they add in the ability to toggle player weapon visibility in the first person view.
Shogo and The Darkness, which they already teasered. Also it'd be cool if somebody could go back and fix Soft Stencil Shadows in the original Escape from Butcher Bay for modern hardware.
The original PC release of Max Payne and they should include the original PC & Dreamcast builds that have been teased by old devs in videos in recent years. ❤ Or get them to finish the OG Prey 2 from Human Head and include a playable build of the original 3D Realms prey demo from 1998/1999. It exists, portals and all. Dues Ex would be interesting as well, maybe include a PC playable version of the PS2 port ? They could also package up ALL the old builds of Duke Nukem Forever, not just the leaked Unreal “2001” bulld but the “doom 3” idtech build, the original Quake engine build and all the documentation and assets and perhaps produce a “playable” interactive timeline of a sorts?
As much as I'd love there to be enhanced versions of Max Payne 1 and 2, it's not going to happen in a million years. Rockstar is the publisher and rights holder, and as soon as Remedy releases the remakes, the old versions are going to be delisted. Just as it happened with the GTA Defective trilogy.
@@HugoRBMarques well if anybody could make it happen it would be Nightdive. Proven track record and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of their previous efforts have untangled rights issues and bought previously uncooperative parties to the negotiating table.
It's a long shot and is a bit outside the time period they normally do, but i'd love to see them remaster the 2005 Peter Jackson King Kong game. It's a really cool FPS third person action game hybrid where you switch between controlling jack on the ground in FPS sections and then kong for third person action setpieces. The first person shooter sequences are actually really atmospheric and well done and they divy out guns and ammo only as a very limited resource, more often then not you have to survive and fend off dinosaurs and other wildlife by pitting them against each other via clever use of baiting animals against one another and using fire which can spread acrosss grass. the whole thing feels very emergent with it's ecology and how different creatures will eat one another and react to things.
@4:12 Oh yeah! A new Quake 3 Arena with fully fleshed out Single Player campaign/universe with all it's aesthetics and Gameplay intact and expanded on! A game I never knew I wanted!
So happy that they're remastering Turok 3. Thx Nightdive! Up next: Superman 64. Lol, jokes aside, how about a remaster of Body Harvest? Or how about they continue the Turok saga by making a part 4 that follows in the footsteps of the first three games? The third one did end with a major cliffhanger after all; time for someone to do the series justice.
Nightdive should complete the Star Wars Kyle Katarn set by also remastering Dark Forces II (with Mysteries of the Sith expansion)! Since we already have backwards compat versions of Outcast, and Academy, Nightdive could give a huge gift to the community by completing the full set! (And also “Shadows of the Empire” from the N64!)
I do agree with Shadows of the Empire, but they should use the superior PC version as the base, rather than the N64. I grew up with the N64 version and it was weird, in a good way, to checkout the PC version.
All 2D Sprite Based FPS. They did an amazing job with Powerslave and Blood, so im sure they will do the same to Star Wars. So hopefully next are Hexen, Heretic and Shadow Warrior. In terms of 3D FPS, definitely Condemned and F.E.A.R series.
Sorry but Heretic, Hexen are doing perfectly fine on GZDoom. Anti aliasing along with a nice texture upscale filter, there is literally a ton of gfx extras to use in GZDoom and have been for ages. Literally I can't see what else Nightdive can do that hasn't already been done already (except porting it to Kex engine). 3D models can be used in Doomsday engine and online play is as always incredibly easy to setup in Doomseeker + Zandronum sourceport. Shadow Warrior needs it I agree, but only for the single reason that the "Shadow Warrior Classic Redux" remaster had an oddly removed multiplayer. Condemned 2 deserves a good PC port but I'm not sure if either Condemned or F.E.A.R are " old enough" to be considered retro for Nightdive just yet.
A proper modernization of System Shock 2 to follow the System Shock Remake would make sense. You wouldn't need to change the gameplay at all, just port it to a new engine with newer models and other assets. I thought someone should have done this when Doom 3 (id Tech 4 engine) came out and that was nearly 20 years ago.
Crossing my fingers for Unreal Championship! I'm seeing all these videos of people playing it on Insignia and my fingers are itching. It was the game that got me into XBOX Live and therefore holds a special place in my heart. Improve the Netcode and maybe add matchmaking and support for clan tournaments. As for control schemes, maybe add a dedicated dodge button. And for all those who say it is just the same as UT2k3: NO. It has weapon affinities and racial traits which make it stand out. But since the games do share DNA maybe an anthology including UC, UT2k3 and UT2k4 would make sense.
Easy: Every 90's and early 2000s shooter. Blood 2: The Chosen, Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, MDK 1 and 2, both Max Paynes, Clive Barker's Undying, Sin, Requiem: Avenging Angel, etc. Even non-shooters like Oni and Heretic 2. As a crazy, pie in the sky idea: fix and remaster games that released originally in a terrible state. Like Advent Rising.
I think Nightdive should make a Valve Classics collection with all GoldSrc games remastered and with Console crossplay... Would like to play Half-Life 1, CS 1.6, Day of Defeat and Team Fortress Classic on console... Also I think these games can become much prettier with updated lighting, models and optional particle effects :)
For me I'll like them to remaster Turok Rage Wars, Armorines, Wwf Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. I know the last two are almost impossible but whatever.
