In 1969, an amateur sailor, Donald Crowhurst, was competing in the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, when things quickly spiraled out of control.
Furiously scratching away in his journal, he would try and make sense of the events that had unfolded during the last few years of his life.
What was to come of the race and the ambitious businessman from Bridgwater, perplexed the world then, and continues to leave people scratching their heads to this day.
