I was just watching clips earlier tonight of Dave playing with Metallica at one of the anniversary gigs they did together, and he did the same thing then too. For as bad of a rep as he gets, Dave at least knows how to graciously share a stage. Pretty cool iny opinion.

@@Callum-Morrison absolutely, he'd make any father proud with his polite behavior on stage. It's truly beautiful honestly, seeing heavy metal bands like this getting along and sharing each others flame so to speak.

So, this man and his band opened a show for Metallica, opened for Slayer, Iron Maiden, had tours with Amon Amarth, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Gojira, Lamb Of God etc. and now he played a song with goddamn Megadeth (plus they did tours with them). Hall of fame career, love Trivium to death. Fucking legend!

That being said, I'd argue on the whole Trivium has been putting out better songs than any other metal band the past 10 years, especially their latest album.

Man that is a lot!! You know you made it when you are on stage with Megadeth fronting the band! Well done mate!! Seriously, WELL DONE!
I've never heard someone else do Megadeth vocals till now. I always knew Dave's voice was unique to say the least but I never appreciated how well it fit his songs. It's really odd hearing someone else (even Matt who I'm a huge fan of) sing it.

@@metalpuppet5798 he's definitely not the worst. His voice was great in the late 80s - 90s and has always suited Megadeth's sound. Tracks like Reckoning Day and Elysian Fields are pretty hard to sing.
Newsted also sang live with them.
Matt Heafy, an already established musician, someone who has surely played already on hundreds of different gigs, a huge frontman...
You can see that even then, the anxiousness kicks in the moment he steps in to sing along Megadeth. Now the challgente it's not only the crowd in front on him, but the legendary band besides him.
And even then, he still manages to nail it.

Megadeth and Trivium being my two favourite bands in the world together, my two idols in life and music and the fact that this is a dream for matt just makes me so unbelievably happy every time I watch this. matt even make the song sound even better live. beautiful honestly. After all these years I hear the song again and it's like, my God this masterpiece might well be the greatest metal song ever.
Kiko is so godamn good. I love Marty, but Kiko is such an amazing addition to Megadeth.
Can't even begin to imagine how this feels for Matt, when this is huge for the fans as well. I'm 28 now, started listening to metal 15 years ago with Metallica and Megadeth, learned a ton of their songs on guitar in the next few years. Trivium for me was the first band i discovered by myself, and watched them grow over the years, not just musically but watching interviews etc. as well, getting a feel of the band members as persons. Dave was also my original guitar influence, seeing him play gave me the itch to pick up a guitar, nowadays i play on his Dean VMNT Angel of Deth, my dream guitar since i was a kid. Seeing him welcome Matt, absolutely another one of my metal heroes to play with them feels amazing man. Congrats on the opportunity, Matt, and i probably don't need to point out that you absolutely crushed the song, amazing performance.

The last part with the quick snare where it sounds like your actually (or probably) in a tornado is my favorite riff, so much energy. Matt,, you adding a bit of melody in the vocals during that was icing on the cake! My favorite solo ever! Took me months to get it right, but after that, it opens doors to licks and crazy soloing ideas!

Great performance. Superb as always from Megadeth and killer vocals by Matt. Just one thing I missed was Matt's guitar work here. It would've been a new level of awesomeness had we seen him play the guitar as well with Megadeth, clearly bcoz this is one of Matt's fave songs. I hope you guys do this next time. Cheers from India!
