- Megadeth performing "Dread and the Fugitive Mind" from their album "The World Needs a Hero" live at the Baxter Arena in Omaha, NE on 4/26/2022.
Al pitrelli made one of the finest solos of megadeth history
World needs a hero = underrated
So really great cuts for sure and some rather forgettable ones as well. Same for System Has Failed. Absolutely love The Scorpion.
Criminally
@@arsxxmoriendi Back in the Day because I am part of a generation that watched Duck Dodgers.
Absolutely!!!! Agree 1000%
my favourite is disconnect, losing my sense and this.. masterpiece
Dave vocals improved a lot...
I know right? I saw a couple of shows from 2010 and thought that by this time he wouldn't even be able to talk.
@@laesponjaloca123 you know that a lot of 2010 shows are playbacks, right?
They tuned one step down back in 2012-2013. Dave’s voice improved immediately.
Gonna see them the second time innmy life in just a couple of weeks in Finland 🤟
@@titomartinez9421
Congrats friend.
🤘
@@fade0202 well, he’s saying Dave sounded like shit in 2010, so you’re saying he used playbacks to sound like shit?
They haven't played this song in 20 years! Excited to see them this tour too!
They played it in 2020 in Prague exclusively
you should had seen them in the eighties, they have noo energy. the audience is almost asleep and for good reason were all in our 60s and 50s
@@piotrbuczulinski9369 Not only in Prague. I saw them in Vienna during that tour and it was in setlist as well.
@johncarcamo6772 then shape up and lose that gut buddy
Im glad they are starting to add 2000s era songs again! I hope the add blackmail the universe or back in the day
Or also Kick the chair , Sleepwalker would be great as well
@@rodea86 Yeah, they sound great live.
sleepwalker or washington is next🙏
Kiko is amazing! Awesome job on that solo!
Finally, Kiko kinda replicated Pitrelli's work.
Nice profile pic
teemu is better than kiko by a mile
Brutal solo!!
when I was there I was yelling "I love your hair Dave!'
A clean and sober Mustaine is a LEGEND…. In the early 80’s in the Bay Area you were in one of 3 camps. Metallica, Megadeth, or Slayer… At 55 years old, I am glad I stuck with Mustaine through the ups and downs. Insane music !
except he's not sober anymore. he started drinking again. not in an abusive way, just socially
@@goodini026 He make his own wine & beer.
@@markandersen793 i know...
I was in all 3 camps. Don't pick a team in metal.

Dirk is a beast in the drums, is amazing!
They should play Blackmail The Universe...that song is great
It just feels a bit like slow motion for Megadeth. They were so furious when they were younger!!
Everybody slows down while becoming older. Rather more if Dave was high during concerts very often.
I think it sounds slower because guitar tune down full step compered to original recording and live shows from 00's
I was there! Show was phenomenal! Unfortunately, the crowd was shit for Megadeth. They just stood there, yet they went ballistic for LoG.
Depends.. I tend to find that the main headliners usually gets that people have spent the energy already and are just enjoying the show instead of getting to nuts.. Crowds these days are far more static anyway.. Usually because they all have their phones out can't ruin the shot.. So with a legendary outfit like Megadeth you'll get that a lot as well. There really can be a multitude of reasons why it happens.. Did they put on a good show.. Did you enjoy the set..Did they do what you wanted from them?.. Did they exceed even? These are the things you should be factering.. Not the crowd.
My first show was Download 2007 and it was wild.. They were outstanding but the crowd was a factor.. I was 3 people from the front barrier in the middle but slightly to the left between Dave and James.. The energy was super high all around.. But there was loads of factors at play.. They blitzed a set of like 9 songs all brutal with new stuff woven in Sleepwalker/Washington is Next.. So the set was great.. The performance had a sense of scale fo the audience as well.. When Dave came out he could see the amount of people there and knew that the entire festival had come to their stage.... Download has multiple stages at that one there was 3 stages.. Megadeth was on the main strage.. Meaning you are competing for the attendees attention... There are over 120k at the festival.. About 100k showed up for Megadeth... It was fucking gigantic.. There were a few other bands that did that to over course of the 3 days.. But Megadeth was unique it was the beginning of Megadeth rebuilding itself properly as a Thrash Metal pioneer.. They were seen as to have come off the rails with the wagon on the late 90s and lost favor..Since the early 00s to now they have rebuilt and reconquered the field.. See in 2007 Download Megadeth got a middle of the day slot of 45 minutes.. Over the following shows they've moved up the bill to now sitting below the headline act.. They are basically a number 1 album away from being an outright headliner at future festivals...
I've seen them 4 times total.. Not seen them since Kiko and Dirk joined yet.. Missed their last swing by.. But caught up with some shows online.. Poor substitute as it is to the real deal.. The moments.
I'll tell you this though... One of these shows is going to have a new song played... Its which show that's the mystery.. Every show I'm checking to see if they played it yet.. Lol. Album is just 10 weeks from releasing..
Unusually cagey from Megadeth.. I'm used to Megadeth playing new stuff at shows before it's even finished yet.. They were playing Gears of War like a year before the album came out.. But Dave has kept it all very close to the chest... Only tiny snippets here and there.. No free single, no footage from the studio.. No making of.. Nothing.. All very tucked away ready for a grand reveal.. I guess they are just waiting to get as close as possible to release before releasing a single or playing a song live.. Keeping us right on the edge.. At least me that is lol
@@PhantomDeth Megadeth always seems to have shitty crowds, my dude. They need something like what Metallica had in Russia or Seattle. I enjoyed the show regardless of if others did, but I would’ve loved to have seen the crowd get into it like they did with the other bands, but they just didn’t.
@@DingoOverlord Bro.. You are never going to see a crowd like Metallica in Moscow before the fall of the wall ever again.. Or Seattle.. Which was the 90s.. I disagree btw.. I was at that Download 2007 show it was fucking crazy..
You seem overly obsessed with crowds though and not the band which I find a bit weird.
@@PhantomDeth I thought the band was great! It just disappoints me that the crowd wasn’t as into it as I was. I didn’t quite understand it. I know if I were a musician and saw the crowd wasn’t as into it as I was, it’d be a little discouraging.
@@DingoOverlord Great I'm glad you enjoyed it.. Maybe the audience skewed more LoG that night.. Maybe the audience for Megadeth was older.. Maybe they were moving and you couldn't gauge it right because you were to... I've been to many shows.. For many bands.. The hardcore fans are down the front... You might get a pit or 2.. But for the most part people stand and watch.... Audiences just aren't like they were in the 80s and 90s man.. Just have to accept that... If they are the hot shit that's trend setting or something it gets that reaction.. If its legacy stuff or metal tours and shows they are still crowds.. The crowds you want are at festivals where everyone is really high energy and in party mode... Live gigs aren't really like that much.. People almost treat them like theatre... They watch bounce a little and clap.
Either way it's not important... Crowds suck anyway.. 50% with there phones out all the time that sucks..
Only band I've seen nobody give a fuck about was Job for a Cowboy... They were awful and the crowd clearly wasn't there for them.. Interestingly Megadeth was the headliner and they had the energy from the crowd... Believe they had Evile open. Megadeth has never failed to put on a good performance the 4 times I've seen them.. 2 at local smaller shows and 2 at festivals.. Festivals have bigger and crazier crowds... As I explained with Download Festival.
O "Tesouro" toca demais...pqp
kiko went from not knowing the song to learning it in one day which is insane. he didn't know how to play the solo so he had to improvise it which he got shit for..and now he plays it basically note for note in such a short time. dude is a beast
One of the best Megadeth songs of all time, so glad this is back in the set 🔥👏👏👏
Need this song in the set more often
It's good to see them play classic old songs, thanks for sharing \m/
Dread and the fugitive mind's solo"... Kiko is improving it
I think he’s better than Friedman when it comes to a lot of these songs. I think he even plays tornado of souls solo better
@@tritontransport I really doubt he plays friedman stuff better than friedman, but he indeed plays poland, pitrelli and drover stuff better than any other one IMO
pitrelli live version of this solo is 100000000000000 times better. kiko fails all bendings and vibratos. pitrelli has an amazin work in bendins and vibrato just like marty. Kiko is like Chris Broderick, fast guys horrible bendins
@@jebrengl kiko are not playing the orihinal song, that his version of pitrelli solo.
Essa banda é um PATRIMONIO histórico do heavy metal!! Nunca se venderam!

Rude awakening was wayyyyy better than this.

Love your pfp :). Ascend above the ashess
Por fin tocó el maldito solo como debería de ser, con sus ciertas libertades pero respetando el feel, grande KIKO.
Me encanta, el tema suena re bien con esta afinacion. El solo muuuy bueno.
kiko, with own style

Groovy@) Well, amazed to discover these old men are still sound strong!)) Cool!
Wow ❤
Great Dave. Continua finche riesci.
He acually sounds more like the old dave here I like that it's been 12 years since I seen them live I think it's about time I get back to one of there shows even though I honestly would like to see the 2010 line up back since we can't have the best line up they had of nick menza david ellefson and marty friedman
🤘🤘
Dave's voice sounds very good, I hope thay are not doing a Paul Stanley thing.. if not, respect to Mr. Mustaine
What's Paul Stanley did?
Kiko on fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hard to play but this song but is like bat+. I can charge from sounds of the song. Thank you Mustaine!
This song isnt hard to play tho 😂

The solo IS this song. wtf was that?
Prefiero a Al Pitrelli en ese cancion.
Kiko plays wrong solo of many songs. This should not be acceptable for such a top class band . He should be ashamed of that, and try to figure out. Definitely he is a class one guitarist and a careless performer. I love megadeth than all other bands. So, I become frustrated of Kiko's performance.
He puts his signature on the solos, it sounds like he's a robot
Mustaine está cantando muito mal! Deveria se empenhar mais no vocal!
Better than original
