From someone who has struggled with weight my entire life, congratulations on your road to good health. I know its hard, especially in the beginning. But it’s worth it in the long run. Keep it up, man.
I've always enjoyed your knive and gear reviews mainly cuz you come across as a down to earth type of guy, and for you to challenge yourself in this way and even post it only further proves that in my opinion. I wish all the best for you going forward! 💯
Holy shit, Jeff. 591k subs?! Jesus I've been watching since like 11k, that's wild! Congrats, you've always been such a genuine guy. Keep on keepin' on!
Congrats man! I really respect that you can envision your goals. I’ve been trying to cut down on weight too and I can definitely appreciate the sticking to discipline. I started watching your balisong and zippo videos around 14 years ago, and have enjoyed the content on the channel since. Keep up the great work!
Jeff I agree with everything you said in the video, especially that last part about leaving your wife alone, because that's exactly how I feel about my girlfriend of almost 8 years. Now on a happier note, we've been losing weight (I too am down to 265 from 285 finally) and the biggest thing is to try and maintain that weight as you said. But I believe we can do it man. All the best! Oh and your hair actually wasn't looking that bad either :)
I admire your discipline more than your good looks. What helped me improve myself was to write a plan or agenda for my week that included stuff I want to do or eat and this helped me avoid that impulsive feeling that creeps up on you.
Great to see you hit your haircut goal. Keep up the good work and I will try to get back down to 220 and join you on your weight loss journey. I am at 255 right now which is not huge for my body, but I want to join you in getting back to a more healthy weight for me. Hopefully you will be able to keep us and your wife company for a long, long time!!
Damn Jeff I'm really happy and proud of and for you man! Over the years I've seen your ups and downs including your weight. I've been the same way. I'm almost to 300 too! I actually started my change around the same time. You and I are alot alike and you motivated me (along with my 'beetus diagnosis). You're very right about the way to do it too. Life change is it. The not depriving of everything you enjoy too is key. Small amounts of those things helps. I'm not an over eater and I don't eat even 3 meals a day but I just can't process what I eat well. I don't eat "clean" as often as I should. At 38 I've developed some health issues and I have a lot of chronic pain from several ailments that's required surgery and need more soon. I physically can't stand but a minute or two before I have to sit or I can't concentrate to do anything. Anyway, that's too long to comment on right now so I'll end it. I'm not super obese so that's not why. It's the feet, back, hips and neck. I'm also 6'6" and I weigh 315ish. I'm good and actually pretty fit and muscular still from before I got disabled everywhere but lower mid section and above my "junk" below low abs. I look odd lol. This is went too long man. Sorry. Proud of you man. I know Christina and Vinny and your family is too. 🐍🇺🇸
Happy for you bro! I am down 27lbs this year. Did the same. Just eat smaller portions and try to eat a big salad with every meal. Cooking my own meals helps alot as well. Try to walk 5miles everyday but doesn’t always happen. My mood is better, have more energy.
What a road brother.. Props BIG TIME ! Setting urself to the pace isn’t what’s hard… it’s completing it in FULL. Thanks for the many good videos Jeff. Always look forward to em. ✌🏼✌🏼
Congratulations! Life's about prioritizing the goals you want to achieve, living longer is a good one! I've been struggling with you, I've cut about 45 lbs in 5 months and just ran my first 1/2 marathon. For me part of my long term plan for keeping weight off is having a goal lifestyle vs a goal weight. Really helps frame those daily "should I eat that cake" internal struggles!
Good job brother. I took that road back in 2012. I’d hit 340 at one point, life changes brought me down to 275-290 for a few years and when I decided to get serious I did the paleo thing. Took me about a year to get under 200. Now I pretty much eat a modified paleo diet and do intermittent fasting. Keep myself between 200 and 225 for the past 10 years. It truly is lifestyle more than dieting. Congrats on the new you man, keep it up and be conscious of what goes in and it’ll be pretty easy to stay where you want to be.
I have been doing modified keto for over 2 years and i love it. I lost about 50lbs and ive kept the weight off. That combined with working out 3-5x per week has been great. I started eating better because of health, not how I looked. I didn't care what people thought of how I looked, but when my blood pressure was constantly elevated (pre-hypertension levels) i decided to make a lifestyle change.
Congratulations! I have been a long time viewer. Watching your ups and downs, and how your view of your weight has affected your attitude at times. It is good to see you happier now. Keep moving forward toward your goals.
I've had my journey with weightloss and I'm 188 now and I was at 300 at my max. I got down to 160 but I didn't make the good habits and now I've gained almost 30 pounds. It's now time to look at my eating habits and make a change so I can feel great and look good.
Congratulations on achieving your goal! It makes sense you would be more emotional when you hit a milestone like this. I like your pragmatic yet optimistic outlook. Thanks for the videos
Jeff, I'm so happy and proud of you. Not just because you're loosing the weight after all the time and struggle you've had with it. But because you've got it down and come to understand the true solution to weight loss. Its not about diets or cutting out things you love, but about understanding the limits of what we eat and whats going to effect us. I would suggest that maybe keeping the times when you eat stuff thats super high in calories low if you want to continue, not just becuae they're bad for you or fattening, but if you are scared to eat them so you eat tiny portions and end up hungry that isn't great. try to never be genuinly hungry because that is the road to failure. If you fancy the cheese steak, eat the cheese steak. but not every day.
Man you are one of those Guys I can hang out with. Brother I give you a heck of a lot of credit. I always enjoy listening to your views. Good job Jeff!
Man, sounds like we're brothers from another mother. Been not dealing with my weight in the exact same way, I love to eat too much. Have been slowly changing my life , keep it up man.
Keep on pushing brotha you got it! Congrats on the weight loss. I started my journey in March of 2023 at 255lbs I’m at 175 as of today. I want to get to 155 to have the full 100lbs down
it doesnt matter. my hair started going when i was 19. it used to bother me when i was young. now im 50 and its all the way gone and i simply just dont care. i tried for a long time to grow my hair out like you on the sides. it doesnt work. it comes down to this. you either like me or you dont...the hair has jack shit to do with it my friend. they either like you or they dont.
I haven't been watching you that long. How tall are you?? I'm 6'5 270lbs and I feel like I need to lose about 30 lbs. I'm 56 so working out a lot isn't an option I installed flooring for over 30 years so my knees & back are shot.
Food being a big part of the day is a choice/addiction. It is entirely possible to replace the void that it fills with something else. For me it took about 6-8 months of effort to see food as only sustenance and not dopamine.
Congrats Jeff! Sticking to your word even with all the comments from us and your loved ones. Very glad you did it right through with lifestyle changes. No hoping it stays like this, because it will. I gotta go the other way and gain weight. Had a month of waking up at 4:30am getting my juggling in, getting a workout in. But lacked the food and went from 106 to 99, like nope can’t have that routine yet until I fix the food part first.
Good stuff Jeff. Keep going. Set your next goal to 250lbs ans get after it. 300lbs is still way too overweight and unhealthy if you want to live a long life.
Keep up the great work! As as long as you & the wife are happy- that’s all that matters!! By chance have you tried “Diet Rite” soda? I was able to drop 65lbs by cutting out soda & sweets (mainly it was my SEVERE Mtn Dew addiction). But Diet Rite was by far the best soda I found 👍👍
It is wonderful to see in your comments how people are taking their lives back. Do it. My wife and I began the keto/carnivore "diet" about 5 years ago. We were not heavy people but researched all the additional benefits of cutting sugar and carbs. Wow. We will never go back...the quality of life (clarity of thought, energy, aching joints, sleep, etc) is so much better. As a side benefit, we also lost about 25 lbs each and sugar cravings are all but nonexistent now. Big pharma and big food do NOT want us healthy, which is why they push the negativity concerning the ketogenic life (aka, the most ancestrally correct way of eating). To anyone reading this....do the research, eliminate sugar and carbs for just one month. If after a month you decide the benefits are not as important as the jelly donuts, then quit. You won't. Once your body is in a state of ketosis and you feel the best you have ever felt, you will probably never go back as well.
Keep on with the diet or change everyone should be thinking the process foods they are eating. Most of the food you buy is a slow death..... unless you are growning it home grown.
Looked like you were about to hand me your manifesto written in crayon! :-D Been watching since around 2008 and I've loved you and your channel for years. I'm proud of you for getting below 300! Any next goal like reaching 275-250 or are you just taking it one bite at a time?
Jeff, believe it or not you were one of my role models growing up in high school. (Yeah that's how long you've been making videos lol) It makes me feel great knowing that you're focusing on improving your life. I gained a bunch of weight, about 100 lbs from a combination of bad medication and lifestyle choices (I worked at a pizza place and ate a lot of free pizza and wings for a while) and I'm down 60lbs from my heaviest just from quitting that job and cooking my own food. Working on those last 40 lbs but I've gotten so good at cooking that I can't help but over eat from time to time lol As someone with long hair and a long beard (I trim both once a year) it always pains me when people have less than great relationships with their hair, but I think everyone will agree that you really pull the bald look off, makes you look a lot younger and thinner.
