I'm astounded by how quiet it must be around the building, you don't hear any outside noise at all. It's the exact opposite of the Indian barber videos but it's nice to have both, very much a display of culture.
I love watching old masters of their craft work, no matter the craft. Especially the Japanese have such a swiftness and dedication to their profession...
there is something very special about this gentleman at work, my only regret is i will never manage to see his work first-hand before he retires, beautiful work
He is showering you with the affection and care that a doting grandfather would typically show to their grandchild, but he expresses it through his role as a barber.
If there is one thing I learned while watching Harry’s videos throughout the years, it’s that the Japanese barbers will always give you the closest possible shave. Amazing video as always!
This is how a barber shop should be no feeling of being rushed and no music coming from a cheap speaker or radio just the sound of a ticking clock such a professional at work makes the whole process look like an art form
@@jessebilla I have no idea where to get a haircut that cheap. I go once a month to a rather inexpensive place called Greatclips. It usually runs me around 25 to get a cut and shave.
Appreciate you shining a light on a craft that many overlook with all the “cheap” drop in hair cut locations these days. Barbering is such an art, another example of a craftsman perfecting his trade. His apron is money!
Usually, I only goes to barber before I go to important even such as wedding or ceremony event. But lately, I start going to barber when I'm stressed. The slow head massage really help a lot. Thanks to you, now I really want to go to Japan😒 I'm waiting for the next barber review.
Having lived in Japan for almost 12 years, I have to say, the Japanese take their crafts and the service to the max. Bar none the best service provided. Everywhere.
I so need to visit Japan, such lovely humble people, beautiful historic areas, amazing food and an amazing barber. I could watch this on repeat for hours❤
Just beware that a good majority of the people there are xenophobic. Not racist (unless you're another Asian) but they do not care for foreigners. They'll be nice in the bigger cities especially if you're buying something but the outskirts/countryside are a different story. Lived there for 2 years due to work, great place to visit just be ready.
I can't explain why, but this is now my favorite video you've done to date and I'm pretty sure I've watched them all. Just wish the massage part was longer. Amazing video!!
I haven't had the pleasure to experience one in person, but from youtube videos, the Japanese barber culture has always seemed so interesting to me. It was an absolute delight to watch this.
It’s called a straight razor before we had the razors we have now ( 🪒 for reference in case someone needs further clarification ) we had these. They were essentially an incredibly sharp knife (when combined with the shaving cream) it could glide over the skin but still get the hair. Of course this implies that the user did this correctly.
Harry, it's been a while! Another outstanding video! You always start out with an enviable amount of hair, and end up with a masterpiece of barbering and asmr perfection, and this video is no different! On my days off, I binge watch my favorite television programming, and your videos! Your videos even lower my blood pressure. If you're ever in the US and in Atlanta Georgia, like a meet & greet situation, I would be there to meet you, listen to interesting stories of the great locations and barbers you've met. Count me in, for sure! 👍
Japanese barbershops really are on a mother level. Would do some similar to this once a month to spoil myself but the other 3 weeks was one right off base and for 1000 yen (including tip) I still got a great cut, steam hot towel and a 5 minute massage. Absolutely best haircuts of my life
Haven't checked in much lately, Harry...but, I enjoyed this one. This must've been one of the closest shaves you ever had. The gentleman kept at it. Very meticulous.
Whats that second shave blade type he is using? i have never seen something like it! Its the japanese version of a safety razor? I have been following you for more than a year now and you are by far the best ASMR channel right now. Thanks for your high quality barbers you visit and the high quality videos you make out of them!
I always love reading your descriptions! They have a wealth of info...how else would I learn there is a National Shaving Mug Collectors Association! I bet y'all had some amazing conversations seeing as he's also traveled visiting barbershops. Great video Harry!
Hey Harry, Just wanted to say I've been watching your videos for a while now and wanted to thank you for helping me fall asleep at night. I get so excited when you upload a new video. I go back to my favorite videos literally every night to help me sleep. The person doing all the recording does such a great job as well. I don't get star struck but if I were to ever see you, I would definitely ask for a pic. Thank you Harry and everyone that has made this channel become what it is now. Now to get to the video 😃
This encompasses everything great about Japanese culture. They take their time with everything and put their heart and soul into EVERYTHING they do. This is something that has long faded in America and still prevalent in every day Japanese society. Japanese culture is so amazing and beautiful which is why even today one of the safest and cleanest countries in the world. They work so hard but genuinely enjoy what they do most of the time no matter what and that is why everything including a haircut becomes special. There are some things in this world that are only meant to be admired by others and never attempted to aspire to be or copy, leave perfection to the Japanese they do it so beautifully.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It was two twin blade cartridges on a fancy handle. The first razor with the green handle looked to be a feather artist club razor, he could have used the green handle razor for the entire shave and I’m not sure why he didn’t. It made zero sense to me that he switched it out for the second pass.
now that is truly an amazing experience i can remember when i was really young my dad taking me with my grandfather to see his barber that had a 100 year old barber shop that the barber’s dad had started and it was really a step back in time truly amazing experience this video has that same energy unfortunately this has been truly lost in so many ways in the world

The little chair with a horse head for kids is a great idea, I don't remember seeing that elsewhere. Great video as always!
Excellent video.. My favorite has to be the wooden massage vibrating contraption! Would love one of those at my house!
As a barber myself I would be in my absolute element looking at all the barber memorabilia in this amazing barber shop.
Love this.
Haircut Harry is a living custodian of the original RUclips ASMR community.
Cherish this man.

The confidence in the hand motions and technique speaks volumes. This was a good one.
Mr. Kajikawa is a national treasure. He should be teaching what he knows to a fleet of apprentices.
The lightning speed and accuracy in some of his movements is just mesmerizing.
¡Gracias!
Thank you for your continued support 🙏🏼❤️
Loved it, instant classic! The video was awesome and relaxing and the barber had such a gentle demeanor to him.
I’m so jealous of Harry’s full head of hair. It’s a barbers dream.
That kids chair with the horse is so unique, if I was a kid I would’ve definitely sat in that chair.

I enjoy how this guy isn’t into the theatrics like the younger hipster barbers. He gets the job done. No need for a show.
Even just the sounds alone can lower our heart rates. Marvellous, and thanks to all associated with your videos!

The precision and attention to detail that Japanese barbers execute is second to none.
The ASMR qualities towards the end are off the charts, this might be one of the more ASMR experiences in all of your videos … really lovely stuff!
This guy is old school badass, checking the temperature on his wrist before he puts it on your face. Love it!

beautiful items in his museum(like the lather cup). his movements at shaving were graceful and with purpose. amazing to watch.
That has to be thee smoothest face ever recorded. My man reshaves him so many times! Also the barbers hands looked insanely strong.
Haircut harry needs a Netflix tv series of all the places he’s been. From his first video to his recent. ❤❤❤
That sound of the Barbers breathing in combination with the rhythm of the clock creates a massive ASMR in me.
I can't explain why, but this is now my favorite video you've done to date and I'm pretty sure I've watched them all. Just wish the massage part was longer. Amazing video!!
Mr Lee??
Somehow getting a shave or haircut myself is way less enjoyable than watching it being done to somebody else - i dont know why. Love the videos!
This is the most Portuguese looking barbershop I've ever seen. The sheer amount of knick knacks alone...

They made it seem like it was only two people in that room. 👏🏽 Great Editing and filming.
What was the tool he was using for second part of the shave? Never seen a razor like that. Very interesting.

Always awesome when the asmr video is interrupted by a car commercial playing AC/DC's thunderstruck
