As long as they get rid of that pointless intrusion in the drivers footwell and allow the seats and steering wheel to adjust better then it’s may be worth a look as the current one is like a car designed for short people only
Sure is a shame that some of the popular RUclipsrs ( not me ) ... Clarkson / Harrys Garage .. are tall.... maybe Ineos should have lent one to Richard Hamond !
The Fusilier certainly looks good. If anything, the design is better than the Grenadier but as you say, it is very G-Wagon. As to whether EVs are suitable for off-roading or not, I think a bit of categorisation is necessary. If off-roading on home ground, such as a farmer on their land, then I think it is perfectly feasible. If off-roading in terms of 'green laneing' then again, with planning and careful preparation it is probably possible. Depending on the location and the ability to charge before commencing and then again shortly afterwards. However, if off-roading in terms of overlanding, with current battery and charging technology, it is not possible and therefore unsuitable. What worries me is what will the emergency services such as the fire brigade, mountain rescue and the police etc will do as they also use 4x4s and they are typically on scene for extended periods of time in very rough terrain with very little in terms of infrastructure where they would typically be with those types of vehicles.
Some good points you raise here - I think there will be some really cool capabilities with 4 motors - the front wheels could drive slowly forward while the rear wheels try to spin quickly to get you unstuck... or similar.... you could have a gentle rocking action to get you unstuck !
The electric cars are so easy to drive - instant toque at minimal revs - it would be an off roaders dream ! probably do not even need a low ratio box !
Belle skid steer loaders had four hydraulic motors decades ago. They didn’t turn the wheels for steering but, as you can tell from the class name, skid to steer. Nevertheless they can turn on the spot within their own length just like the Mercedes G demo.
Probably Austrian for the manufacture of this one ! ... I know the promise of the Bridgend factory .... I used to live and work in Bridgend and it would have been great to have the car built in the UK.....
You would need an array of solar panels built in; a diesel or petrol tank to run the built-in generator AND plenty of time to wait while the batteries recharge. Think desert country and you will understand what I’m on about. Cheers 🤣🙏🦘
Best ive seen Land Rover on vintage voltage, looks better, more class and pedigree, great show as usual....

3:10 Bit like the Boris Bus Route Master with a generator to keep the batteries topped up.
Thanks for the update Simon
You are welcome... its going to be interesting to watch what happens in this world of electric 4x4's
What about control on 4x4? When off road? No clutch?

Ah right thank you!!!
Another good video Simon 👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏👏😅
Thanks Jimmy 👍
Will any of these be able to go through water ?
Water should not be an issue... check out this video for the Chinese BYD U8 - that is impressive !

The new G-Wagen will have 4 motors, that is the ultimate for traction control off-road - no need for diff-locks. Too expensive for the Fusilier.
4 motors is the best ! loads of ground clearance ? ultimate control !

G Wagons cost twice as much and up…
Someone would buy it.
I associate Fiskers with Finnish ploughs and scissors, not electric cars.
Wouldn't it be two axles with a motor on each axle 🤔🤔
I dont think so - i think it is 2 motors inboard ... but not 100% sure
Boom Boom!!
Morning !
First 😊
Yes you are!
A million miles from being British!
I think a lot of people may agree with you on this one ....
It’s kinda pointless 🤷♂️
Another French product from a huge Brexiteer no doubt (Promised factory in Wales)

Ahh..you’ll always have TVR….😂

Of course on one hand desert country has the solar potential.. but on the other hand you do not want to be waiting around too long for it to charge !
