the presentation so clearly informs all the details of this piece of gear........I wish other manufacturers would do videos like this, so that those of us can more fully understand what is possible (most of this boutique/niche gear is not available in stores, so this is critical to make a fully informed decision)
Did get the GR1, and what I love is that the sounds are incredible, functions are right on the faceplate, and it’s fun to experiment. What I don’t like is how it handles user samples. You can load a sample from a USB stick and play with it, but right now you can save the preset with your samples into the device, or save banks of your own samples into the device. Tasty Chips says a new firmware update will fix that, should come out when the new version of the hardware device comes out?
Oh lord, I can't stop watching this. In fact, this device does NOT deliver the sort of 80ies, punchy, cutting sound I'm looking for. Alas, it's such a super cool piece of engineering and hardware craftsmanship, that I can hardly resist... Well done, I must say.
@@TastyChips thank you for the update. Am order# 120304 and just wanted to say that I found out about the GR-1 less than a week ago and the demos blew me away. It was an instant buy for me. I'm feeling extremely fortunate to be paying retail price and not the online scalpers prices for used units. Have a wonderful weekend and Tasty Chips is the Best!
Not now.. there's already so much granular in euro format. Although our engine can do more, we're not sure if it will add enough. And you'll lose out on the proper spacing of the controls on the GR's front plate. .. But who knows, somewhere in the far future ;)
Super cool and creative instrument that looks like it could be incredible fun to play around with. Alas... 850 Euros are a little hefty for me. Cut it down to 500 and I'm in!

Eyeing a used GR-1 now, and this series is a great deep dive into what it is and what it can do. Thank you!

Really appreciate these tutorials. Many thanks.
Thanks! That's what we do it for :)
Never bought anything granular coz most of the time it's totally complicated.... but this thing looks refreshingly comfortable to work with.
Stoked for these tutorials, love my GR-1!
Love it love it love it! Have just ordered the black edition Gr-1 from your website, cant wait to get it :)
FANT-tastic! Thanks! The GR-1 is a powerful piece of magic weaponry.

Do you have an Eurorack version of the GR-1 in the agenda?

No chance since this product is largely made in Europe with fair working conditions and aluminium casing.
