The last 3 years of David's life took its toll: he went through a bitter divorce, personal bankruptcy, a dementia diagnosis and he had to quit what had probably kept him truly happy all these years, performing. Severe stress can really alter someone's looks fast, especially combined with alcohol and substance abuse. No wonder he looked quite different from his earlier years.

Lovely pictures
Some of the photos are not in chronological order. However, it is odd that no one seemed to see that David was really sick anytime before he landed in the hospital in a medically-induced coma. He seemed to be aging particularly fast after he turned 60. He did not just appear older but as if he was was deteriorating. His voice got very gravelly and his hair was receding and his personality changed.
alcohol is a bitch -- i'm sure it was behind his organ failure and sped up onset of his dementia. ruined his looks and voice too.
I thought if this yesterday, and if I'm right it's sad.
I think he may have committed suicide. Kidney and liver failure simultaneously, with no warning? I've never heard of that before. Have you?
PS- They screwed up in this video. In the middle of it, there's a picture if Shaun, his younger, half brother. Wtf?
"spratscat" It might be accidental suicide. It can be hard to tell if a person kept drinking and it could have been "addiction" or intentionally doing away with yourself in a way that could look like your drinking was out of control until it done you in.
I wish I were knowledgeable enough about medical issues so as know about the simultaneous kidney and liver failure. Only when he was about four days from death was there news that he was in critical condition and even a liver transplant would not have done any good. It was as if there were no warning and there was no previous news of his declining health. It seems that you cannot be generally healthy and then sudden multiple organ failure strikes. You have to have been gradually getting sick and it seems David would have been unable to walk or get up out of bed without help for several weeks or even months before he landed in the hospital with a breathing tube.
Any one out there knowledgeable enough about such medical matters to have a close-as-possible answer?
That disastrous concert he did earlier in the year might be an indication that he was really sick. I think that he might have been drinking too, but now it seems that that alone might not have been the problem.
I also noticed a photo of Shaun being in here. He is also a cutie, but definitely not David. I had a crush on both Shaun & David when I was teenager in the 1970's. Posters of them both plastered my bedroom walls. Brings back sweeetttt memories.
I was going to mention that. Shaun Cassidy's photo was there from 2:31-2:35. David was my first impression of what a rock star was. My sister had some of his singles like "I woke up in Love This Morning" which we all listened to. He was a talented good looking guy. R.I.P. David!
If we could only know what our future holds. I wish David could go back and change the way he dealt with his pain and loneliness. RIP DAVID 💜

His dad was not very good to him ! He caused David a lot of pain and self doubts because of his own deep insecurities. So unless papa Jack Cassidy changed in the afterlife, I'm not sure I would wish for DC to be with him after he left this world !

I'm confused. Was he actually diagnosed with dementia, or did he self-diagnose? It's pretty common for people his age, and even younger, to have short-term memory loss, which is made much more worse by alcoholism. And maybe he had early stage Alzeimer's. But He should have gotten a brain scan to understand what was really going on, and if there was any medication, besides alcohol, that would have helped. Like everyone else here, he was my first puppy love crush. I handmade David Cassidy wallpaper throughout my room, until you couldn't see the paint behind the pics. I think his fan club had more members than the Beatles. You were truly adored.
He was diagnosed with dementia in 2014 and came public with it at the beginning of this year... so he'd been living with it knowingly for 3 years, but I'm sure it started sometime before that...

True. It's a disease and addiction very hard to control once it has its grip on you. Not speaking from experience, but imagining what it must be like. RIP David Cassidy. Thank you for your talent, your music and the joy it brought the fans like me, even though I was just a little kid when DC was in his heyday. Rediscovered him now in my adulthood.

Not sure what you mean by that exactly ? ? His insecurities caused him a lot of unhappiness in his life, when, given his talent and looks, he should have been a happy confident man ! And those insecurities were thrust on him mostly by his troubled abusive father who mistreated David most of his life. I think that relationship and the devastating effect it had on him, was the great tragedy of his life. Very sad because it seems he was basically a good soul who deserved a lot better, especially from his own father ! RIP David
You skipped from showing his childhood pictures up to about age 12 or so, and then straight to his grown up pics when he was a teen idol... 19-22 yrs old roughly. What about some picture in b/w these 2 ages when he was in his teen years and even a few more of his childhood ? You also needed more pics of his later adult years when he was in his 30's & 40's etc. That would have been nice if this is supposed to show his changing looks. His brother Shaun's picture didn't belong here of course. And I hated the music. Should have definitely played his song(s), or at least a better song ! Sorry, but I can't really like this video. A 2 rating out of 5 is about the best I would give it. Maybe try again with improvements !
