Last year on the Nürburgring, we were staying at one nice apartment where the old lady owner told us her other guest visits every year and he always brings his Dallara with him. I probably asked her 2 times what the name of the car was, because I never heard of it, and I naively assumed that this old lady is probably mispronouncing the name, mixing something up or that she misheard something....but that wasn't the case. We soon met the guy, his blue Dallara and I felt so ignorant, like I was 6 years old again, not knowing anything about this supercar, even though I was sure that I am a "real car enthusiast who knows a lot". Hah, what a wakeup call. Also - what a car!!
Eye opening car
You never heard about Dallara before?
All the indycar and prototype chassis they build over the last decades?
Are you into racing and technology at all or is it just road cars you are interested in?
Then I would understand that you haven’t heard of it before, but in the racing world Dallara is as big as a names as Lola, Lotus and Porsche.
If only something like Google existed where you could find out the answer proactively instead of waiting until someone educates you
These days, i dont even bother keeping up with a lot of cars. I keep hearing about cars i’ve never heard of and im an enthusiast too. I think technology is allowing basically tons of companies to manufacture cars these days along with people buying small production number cars.
I would have thought she was saying DeLorean
Full speed😎.
Chill channel.
The owner of the channel is chill. zero bad vibes.
Man, to win the lottery would be nice…
This lovely Dallara in the manual version would be what I’d order to Germany as my absolute favorite driving tool!
Heck even driving one for a day would be an absolute awesome experience!
If I would be one of those fortunate people who can afford a Porsche Turbo or GT3, I would definitely go with the Stradale instead!
The price is extremely reasonable for what it is, so for those people who come from wealth this is an absolute bargain!
I’m an automotive engineer, working for a German manufacturer that builds some nice cars, but nothing is comparable to this!
A lightweight mid engine carbon monocoque is such an amazing thing and it’s unbelievable Dallara can achieve this at this price!
I remember when the first “mass produced” carbon in cars like the Mercedes McLaren SLR came up and Gordon Murray started his Istream process and proofed its function with the T.25/T.27 and then the TVR.
That’s what made me hope we maybe can get more carbon un daily car application since it’s already completely normal in other branches, for example high end road bikes and mountain bikes!
I use carbon bikes daily and I love the combination of stiffness and compliance!
Now to experience this in such a lovely Stradale would be the absolute dream!
Thanks Dallara for building this unique machine!
Italians are crazy for driving like that in that kind of weather. New found respect for Italians yet again!
What an incredible machine, indeed. Molto bene, perfezione!
Love all the way from the Philippines
本当にクレイジーだ!!😅
it's a daily challenge, pot holes, fog, cold, not a straight road longer more than 40 meters for 40 and more kilometers stretch, but in the end, to me, even with a common car in a good maintenance condition, it's such a pleasure drive from A to B, knowing you can be fast in a slow car, even taking care of everyone safety
Wow! I thought this car was a myth. Thanks Dino for the tour! That matte gold Stradale with the brown interior is so sick.
Probably the less marketed car in history
Fantastic. No other words
Love when the Italian comes out "Gomme fredde, etc"
Haha yeah just kept it all raw as it happened
I like the design, cars looks well put together, I will say though the car does resemble the veilside Fd Rx7
There was a beautiful forest green one at Tatsumi PA last sunday morning. Beautiful piece of engineering.
That should be mine😊
What a cool car & such cool people who are enthusiastic as you are about driving & making great driver’s cars.
Yep, talent & passion driven. Best recipe for great results
What a fantastic spokesman for the company. It was nice of you to let Larry get the premium shots 😅
I prefer to roam around
DIno, great vlog this one. I have been intrigued by the Dallara Stradale and was just in Milan recently. I agree, this car needs more press. Dallara is obviously one of the premier chassis manufacturers. Impressive seeing the bumpy Italian country roads are no issue for suspension. I have driven many a Fiat 500 over those roads. Cheers.
Yeah magic carpet ride that thing. Unbelievable
Empresas como a Dallara,Ariel,BAC,GMA humilham o resto das montadoras, leveza, beleza e emoção ao extremo
Awesome tour Dino!!!! Thank you sir
I know these roads a little because this is where my family is from. The tarmac is generally terrible, uneven, full of holes and bumps. The fact that you can go so fast, while it rains, on cold tyres, on road like these speaks a lot about the quality of this little rocket!
Beautiful vehicle. Just a shame its so gorgeous and they ended up with a Ford Ecoboost engine for $250k. This would be awesome with an flat plane v8
Im with you on this one. I feel they couldve done much better with the engine. But that is just me.
Yeah the consequence of their decision is that the car sounds like a ford utility van onboard. 🥴 even a 6 cylinder would be better. Porsche can get over 500 HP out of theirs so Dallara could have gone with an even lighter engine and sacrificed a bit of power.
As soon as you get track experience and start doing serious laptimes, the weight becomes everything. Would prefer a 3 cilinder Turbo if it shaves off another 60 kilos.
WOW - what an episode - Dallara I know but I didnt expect that much of history!
This and the KTM X-Bow GT-XR are INSANE cars for the price. And way more road-friendly than any modern hypercar lol.
Ultima rs too
Look at this genius. Larry is having an interview, and he walks right into frame and is talking away. Genius.
The first time i saw this car was in Top gear in 2018. I knew this car was super special when i first saw it. Its even better now that we can see how it is made and all the options available for it.
Dallara Indy Car Factory (across the street from the Speedway in Indianapolis). got to see a Track Spec Stradale at the Borg Warner Turbos booth back at PRI December 2022. the Lambo-esque Orange and Highlighter Green are the killers colors. 😎 the White and the Matte Gold with the Brown seating is not too shabby either.
I remember reading an article in 2014 that said Dallara was working on a car that would debut in 2019, and here we are!
Nice! It's refreshing finding a new car RUclipsr that isn't over the top. 👍🏻
I appreciate that!
The Stradale is mid-engine nirvana. Thanks Dino for showing us.
Great to see the production process. Impressive car!
Thanks for the tour, Dino.
I've loved your work for years and the Stradale is my dream car. So this meeting of worlds is awesome to see.
Thanks for sharing (:
All the best.
For anyone that wants to experience this car, Dallara themselves made a mod version of it for Assetto Corsa. It is incredible to drive.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks! Beautiful pieces of insanely engineered machines.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Talk about living a dream. What a treat that must have been duder. Thanks for taking us with you.
It was!
I watch a guy called Alex take his blue one round the Nurburgring... he keeps up with GT2 RS and has achieved sub 7 mins BTG... such a capable car that looks amazing but I'd love to hear a 6cylinder engine rather than a 4
Dino epic car culture content and entertaining to watch as always and what an experience to tour all these places and that factory and those cars are insane every detail and piece is top tier engineering every thing is so well thought out and with such a lightweight car you don't need a huge PowerPlant it's genius that thing must be like and handle like a go kart just amazing thanks so much for sharing and as always keep up the great work 👍
keep in mind this car is the testament, the dream, from his own words of Giampaolo Dallara, something he want to left to car enthusiast for the future generation, wish him many more years to come, a man born in 1936, able to create the perfect future of automotive with the most innovative tech ever used for a road car.
All that power from a 2.3L Ford EcoBoost i4. Amazing! Didn't even know that Bosch makes and modifies car engines.
Bosch is a technology engineering and development company. Very much like 3M. They will make or modify anything that can be used to advance technology and if you have deep enough pockets they can be contracted to engineer just about anything you desire.
Since Dallara make the Base IndyCar chassis they should say it is an IndyCar for the Road (imo)
Drove it like he stole it, we love to see it absolute legend Dino. 😆
🤙🏻
Wow. Just Wow! That Stradale looks amazing! Interesting design. I like the way they use the side air channels as side impact protection.. that's genius. A Ford engine? I would prefer to see an Alfa engine in there, and it was funny watching him go sideways. Always Pirelli have no grip. no grip. no grip. Especially in wet. But hey! Beautiful car! It must be amazing to see in real life, because for once in his life Larry is speechless!!
Great video, beautiful cars! Thank you! I don't know how I must have missed this video?!!
Amazing coverage Dino. Thank you.
Why no video of people getting into or out of the car?
Thats such a great little car, wonder how it feels relative to a Tommy Kaira ZZ. It really gives off that vibe.
Also cool that Dino speaks Italian (duh), Japanese and English 👍🏼
Some Spanish too lol, but need practice
It's amazing how much engineering and design you can incorporate into a car, when the engine isn't the point of focus. I've often wondered why someone hadn't done the same with the Fiesta's turbo 3, or the Yaris GR mill.
Damn, that's the coolest Ford Focus body kit I've seen yet!
lol come on
@@dino_dc
😆I like the car overall, always loved lightweight racecars for the road. It's just that... I'm really not a fan of how the EcoBoost sounds like for some reason. And sounds are half the reason why I love cars/motorcycles. Heck, wonder how it would fare with a K20, aren't those a bit lighter too?
Literally the worst conditions and the thing looks glued to the road, wow
Yeah blew my mind
I had never heard of these cars. I learn something every day. I'll take that sparkly yellow one thanks.
That car just looks wide but then I always forget the Euro roads has a lower min width then usa haha. That Dallara is awesome. Thanks for showing them off.
The only thing this video needed was a little more Italian.
Grazie mille Dino.
Wow, this is unbelievably cool. If you could get us inside more production lines like this that would be awesome. Cheers.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant content, Dallara is so heavily involved in most aspects of motorsport and nobody even knows ❤
Yeah it’s such an unbelievable brand
Great video Dino and great tour from Andrea over at Dallara, very knowledgeable guy.
Theres a lot of complaints about the engine not being bigger(v6) but if you look at how fast the car already is a bigger engine could be too much power in a lightweight vehicle and also upset the balance of what is clearly a very dialled in supercar.
Another thing to think about is production costs, it was possibly easier to get a reasonable contract with Ford for the powertrain compared to Alfa or ferrari as some have suggested.
I never knew this car existed. What a little race demon
Awesome job; it was great to see the whole building process of this machine! 🙂👍
Grande Dino, per questa avventura italiana ci stava anche la versione italiana del video hehe. buon viaggio.
I really like the dark green color with a hint of carbon showing through. I have never heard about the Dallara Stradale before but it will stick in my head for sure now. I really like the design as it has hints of a Ferrari 488 and due to the monocoque a hint of an Koenigsegg Jesko. A really crazy car!
Wow they really captured the speed from the inside of the car
Love it they use a lightweight 4 cylinder. Only I like the older engines with nice aluminium valve covers and an aluminium coolant tank make it more quality.
As a car painter, the car with brown seats is really hard to paint . If you are a beginner I doubt you will be able to do it. It takes time to lay those metallics evenly through the car, and make them match, since they don't paint the whole car together. Nice car, first time I hear of it as well
A car that would definitely be on my shopping list if I could afford it. My only reservations is the engine and driving position space. Regardless, it's fabulous.
Super stunning in the florescent yellow.
What a beautiful car and the assembly of it was great to see BUT I will say that a windscreen wiper in the middle is just absolutely unforgivable (for me 😂😂). I feel the same way about how Lambos have their engines that are slightly off centre from the strut brace in the back
Thats damn near a perfect sports car. Amazing, give us an NA 9000 rpm 400 hp and perfection. Still great.
A 4 cylinder Ford Engine OMG! Dallara mio learn from Lotus and get a Toyota engine next time. Thanks Dino great videos!
If it’s good enough for Koenigsegg it’s good enough for anyone
Oh wow, I love small boutique car manufacturers like this. Too bad this is probably not available here in America. I never heard of this car brand before
That's how you drive a car! What a ride....
Its about time an actually knowledgable driving dynamics house built a car.
Dino with some short shifts
Sounds like a tractor. If Lamborghini made tractors, how bad could the Dallara be?
Geez, the EcoBoost 2.3 is like the new LS. If it can make 500 ft/lb reliably...But then again that engine does have some cooling issues. Lots of problems to solve if you are going to mid-mount it.
It will be cool if Pagani did a small car with the Mercedes 4 pot
Spectacular looking car, everything looks really well done. I would Kswap it and adjust the wiper to not be right in the middle of the view. Aside from that it's amazing and such a great experience to see everything that goes into a car then drive one... Stellar 🥂
amazing, just amazing.
very cool, the thumbail gave me rx7 vibes
Thats a very beautiful car, first time seeing one.
This car with an RPE Macroblock 2.7L V8 would be sweet
When it started up, sounded like my 5yr old nephew playing trumpet through a paper towel cardboard roll. But other than that - amazing car.
Dallara ha riversato sulla Stradale tutte le qualità delle sue plurivittoriose auto da corsa... risultato eccellente 😍
Infatti, 50 di tecnologia e knowhow. 🔝
Almost any "fast car" will drive okay in the dry.. a truly great "fast car" will do it in the worst conditions and rough road surfaces ... leaving a huge grin on the driver's face 😊 like it did with you and Larry
Incredible car
DUDE, YOUR CHILL FOR SURE, IAM GOING TO REFER TO YOU AS CHILI FRESH, BECAUSE YOU ROCK THE HOUSE FOR SURE... RUSS BOYD, LIVING LARGE, IN KEY WEST FLORIDA...
The first time I knew about the Dallara Stradale is when Davide Cironi test driving the no.1 production model.
Great car, fun and light with good power. I just dont like the powerplant, the 4-cylinder eco boost has a lot of problems. It doesnt sound that good either. But great build
The helmet compartment would be a PERFECT spot for a couple subwoofers.
Haha. No! lol
I enjoy custom super cars. That's why I would like a American built SLC 1400 hp Ford powered GTR with all the bells and whistles.
Good work men. Built something enjoyable. That what it's all about!
Poor Dino, fuck that’s a small car. I wish manufacturers would make cars for real-sized (tall) people!
It was ok, I’m plagued from not fitting into cars bit this, albeit tight, was ok
everthing really nice! but the Turbo sounds like my samsung washing machine
i prefer more weight because of bigger engine without TB
Wait! This is Dino Dale Carbonare? Yo! I used to read faithfully read your contributions on Speedhunter. Subbed!
Yep that’s me! Thanks for the sub!!
@@dino_dc I am just happy I found your channel man. Loving the content!
that exposed green carbon is to die for
Woooow I'm so impressed by channel, the video is very well made, the owner of the channel is very nice and chill
new subscriber here!!!
Welcome aboard!
I would like to see engine from A45 AMG in Dallara and 7speed dual clutch paddleshift from same car.
Hi very nice😊 i m Louís from portugal 🇪🇺🇵🇹
Dude didn't want to talk to you anymore after you hit something and tried to break the car 😂😂😂😂😂
lol
Veramente un peccato quel brutto tempo :(.
Il resto è puro godimento, stupendo.
Ciao Dino!
Grazie. Dai che ci ritorno 😉
is it just me or at 13:20 mins when he started revving it in reverse, all Ii heard was a vaccum cleaner 😂😂😂
Modern turbo motors all sound like that for some reason
that road in Italy ,they're driving on is great..actually Pagani uses this road also..Chris Harris tested the first Huayra on this road...!
Pagani is in Sant. Agata Bolognese, this was in Varano. Pagani uses equally epic roads but close to where they are located
The bells!
I know your channel isn't about bikes but could you visit Ducati on your journey? They have an awesome history.
Yeah not really what I cover but you never know
Is the automated manual a Magneti Marelli Selespeed system like in the Alfa 147/156? I’m assuming a much improved version.
Must be something like that. Maybe even a Ford 10R80. I found the 10R80 to be quite fussy with the constant shifting keeping the RPMs low for fuel economy. Any performance engine should be free to sing instead of a soulless "power unit"
Not really, definitely more modern.
Italy is starting to look like England. I always wondered what a Radical SR3 would look like with a roof
Dino!! Non sapevo che eri tornato in Italia.. dovevi trovarmi una NSX in Giappone prima di partire 😂.. saluti. Giacomo
Solo un maestro. La NSX la troviamo! 😉
this car reminds me the earlyers Noble
I know nothing about engineering. I’ll also probably never see/drive/own one of these cars. But the 4 cylinder kind of bugs me. Even a v6 would’ve been cooler imo. Either way really cool to see the entire process of a hand built production car. Thanks for the video Dino!
Its all about weight, if you talk to people who drive the exige s with the v6 they can feel the weight in such a small chassis.
Less parts, cheaper to replace or build up a 2nd on the side especially being Ford. Weight defiantly matters a ton. Heck the Toyota GR 3-cylinder would have been even cooler. The G16E turbo makes 300hp normal, easy to bump to 400hp.
don't sleep on that Ford Ecoboost 2.3 (being a Honda K-motor snob) i didn't think much of them either until i drove one in an S550 Mustang. even with the additional weight of a Production Car steel chassis and its associated components, the performance is surprisingly good. i see what the Focus RS kids are on about.
@@phillyphil1513 Iv fabbed some stuff for the newish focuses and they do rip. People love them and Im also a turbo b-series/k-series at heart.
Exposed-Dry Carbon-Green = Winning Spec!
And i thought Dino bottomed out the car during that drive back, lol
lol yep
Looks amazing!
Grande Dino! Bello vederti in Italia!
Grazie 🙏🏻
