BTS actually has quite a few EDM inspired songs that don't have mvs, like So What, Stay, Best of Me, Magic Shop, Intro: Ringwanderung, and Interlude: Wings, to name a few. Save Me is EDM inspired also and it has a music video. They really do do everything! Idol and Mic Drop were both in the Love Yourself Era, so yeah 2017-2018. Also, the horn in the beginning you liked i believe is a digital saxophone, but i could be wrong. i'm glad you're liking BTS!
Keep in mind BTS are a lot more than just their mv's. A lot of their b-sides are just as good if not better than the title tracks that have music videos. BTS are the most streamed group on Spotify for a reason.
Can’t help but agree while their mv songs are fun and the mvs are always amazing to look at their b sides and solo music definitely in my playlist in comparison to mv songs, maybe except for black swan and airplane pt 2.
This song was inspired by a lot of hate they're getting from hip hop underground being them an idol and neglecting pure hiphop genre. It's also telling that people evolve, we are who we are no matter what choices we make today or in the future, it's what make us. They also emphasized in the song that whatever reasons behind hate and criticisms they're getting, they know who they are and criticisms will not change them. They are secured with who they are and learned to love their selves completely.
There is a version featuring Nicki Minaj. Also DKDKTV has an explanation video that is 100 percent worth watching. You were right everything, I mean everything has meaning to even the small objects on the table in the opening scene. 🤩💜
I’ve been rocking with you for a while now! Always loved your honest opinions on rap breakdowns… I’m 44 and have listened to rap/hiphop/and r&b most of my life. I got into BTS by and off chance of watching mic drop years ago and now I’m Army thru and thru! These guys are so talented in so many ways, but most importantly so humble and relatable! They’ve had to fight and claw to gain this level of success and no one deserves it more! Glad to see your journey and can’t wait to continue to watch you appreciate all the different genres these men bring to the table! It’s unreal they’re diverse discography! Great reaction as always!! 💜💜💜
Nothing in a BTS MV is random. If it’s present there is a reason. Their MVs are symbolic and go with the theme of the album and there are explanation videos for them. Btw there are official BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEOS FOR THEIR MVs
yes EDM is part of it but its a combination of traditional korean instruments and afro beats. the clothing they wear throughout the video is also korean traditional clothes called hanbok and the suits are african prints. and many of the dance moves are also traditional korean dance moves as well as african dances like the gwara gwara. please react to idol explained by dkdktv to understand the music video and song even more because its very deep with korean culture. also please react to bts hardships 2013 - 2021 by Xceleste
1:46 this is bts favorite song for warm up before doing performance 😂🤣 they like it so much and even dubbing Lion King movie in their variety show called "run BTS"
So dope that you're reacting to more Kpop, loving the content! The video was also a response to people who criticize Kpop music videos and say that it's too over the top, colorful, and crazy. All of this was overly exaggerated and done on purpose and that's why it looks like the director went insane lmao
Such a clapback to all the critics and so many hidden meanings, double entendres, and cultural references to uncover from something that sounds so playful and light. LOL, typical BTS genius. Hope you watch a few of the better explanation videos about it. (i.e. xCeleste, DKDKTV, Bookish Theories, MiniDance, etc). Loved it. Thx for this. 💜 Also, there's a Nicki Minaj version with this song, if you're intrigued enough to search that out.
I love it v much too. On top of it, today i love how knowledgeable and obsessive you are in it, when you say ‘fire’ i smile. Thanks a heap from a random follower.
I love your BTS reactions & the authenticy & articulation of your experience! Look forward to more BTS reactions - there are many more gems out there for you to enjoy.
I’m not the biggest fan of this song or MV personally, but I love the message, and it goes hard in concert whole crowd going “OH OH OOWOH” lol definitely check out the explanation!
I've just interpreted the song and video as irony to misconceptions about BTS and Kpop. They pushed it over the top (hair colors, makeup costumes, production) to tease the haters. What I love about BTS is how aware they are of their status and image as idols.
DKDK has a wonderful explanation for all the things within this video. As an American who is new to their culture, everything makes since now. Notice everything to the rabbit in the moon, to the background colors being PURPLE (ARMY)...and even the SHARK (those big sharks in the industry attacking them) but they are PROTECTED and not PHASED.
there's a nicki minaj collab of this song. 💜 "what's good korea?" idol is with south african beats and dance with fusion to korean trad music, wrapped in edm. hahaha amazing. the live performances of this is nuts!!! 🔥
There is an explanation of this mv by DKDKTV becuz it has a lot symbolism and folklore on their culture…really interesting explanation. Yes you did have a preconceived notion of what Kpop was and esp. BTS and i was cringing watching your first video of BTS but then lo and behold you kept on watching them…thank you
These two songs (Idol & Mic Drop) were in their Love Yourself Era, 3 albums + a Japanese album - LY: Her (Had DNA, Mic Drop, Serendipity, Best of Me), LY: Tear (Had Fake Love, Intro: Singularity, So What, Airplane: Pt. 2, Outro: Tear), LY: Answer (Compilation album had IDOL, Epiphany, Euphoria) & *ARMY songs from LY Era (HER-Hidden Track - SEA; TEAR-Magic Shop; Answer-Answer: Love Myself)* and the Japanese album LY: Face Yourself (Crystal Snow, Let Go)
Next video for you to react is their performance in MAMA 2016-2019 it's an award show turned concert by BTS. They should be awarded by AMA or Grammys for best MV.
I thought you were gonna be put off in reacting to BTS after a lot of us were correcting you on the previous video☺️ Glad you're still reacting and you're open minded enough even if we tend to be a bit too enthusiastic sometimes when clearing some misconceptions people may have about BTS. This video is BIG and over the top for a reason. People criticizing BTS that they're becoming more western so they incorporate Korean culture here, people sniggering on their colorful hair or outfits? Okay then lets make it even more crazy colorful 😂 Oh you don't like our larger than life personas, then lets make giant imageries on this video. U dont like make up? Okay lets do a close up of our pink sweet lips, sorry we're just too pretty haha.
Yeah! This music video is really fire!!! You can dye your hair grey or green or whatever you want, just like the message of this song, love yourself and be what you want to be, and I'm sure you'll look good whatever color you choose 😊
I love all of your reactions but I especially love your bts reactions!!! Your commentary is spot on and it's so enjoyable to hear your thoughts about all aspects of their mvs/songs. So glad I'm subbed to you 🥰💜
Lol a lot of the music video was ironic and like doing everything the haters were saying but more extra like people used to say they used too much cgi --> cgi overload people used to say there was too many of them --> a thousand heads and copy pasted themselves dancing on green screen people used to say they were too colorful --> so many colors it nearly hurts your eyes people used to say they dyed their hair too much --> literally all of them have dyed hair in this, and V even has two different colors There's also a lot of cultural references but i can't explain those well, i think dkdktv did an explaination on it
The song uses African imagery, African beats, and use African dance moves, as well as the suits they wear are from a South African designer. They also use a lot of traditional Korean imagery and outfits it’s such a fun song.
This song and not today live are great. I hope you can react to BTS’s songs live. They are phenomenal live and sold out 4 stadium nights in LA on November 28th, 29th and December 3rd, 4th. If that‘s what you liked from them, I recommend their MVs “Not doday“ and “Fire“. In this video there is a LOT of symbolism, but it is not connected to the storyline, which runs through some of their MVs. There are explanation videos on youtube, which touch upon the symbolism.
You said that there is explanation on every scene... The answer is YES!! You should also watch the explanation on every song of BTS by DKDKTV. I like your POV on their video because you always hit it right! Thank you :)
the reason for the visuals is that people complained that BTS MV's have too many visuals so they made this MV and increased the visuals to 11/10. after this MV people stopped complaining
i hope you've seen DKDK TV's explanation video about this MV. they really dissected things for foreigners to understand the korean references and nuances in it.
Pollack reference earns a sub & I like you probing audience in your lives for why they like or dislike helping them gain self awareness. Ok to not like something but not knowing why is not the best way to remain.
I made the mistake of eating a bowl of cereal while watching this reaction. I had at least 3 lol moments; cheerios are everywhere, smh. Your sarcasm is everything to me. Thank you for giving us great content!
This video is FULL OF SYMBOLISM... Watch the DKDKTV Explained video about it... It's so CRAZY 😍 PS: I hope one day u'll discover Jackson Wang too, or Jessi, or Flowsik... BTS are my Fav, but these guys too are fire too 🔥 To begin: Jackson Wang - Titanic (feat. Rich Brian) 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You should also check out the live performance of this either at MMA 2018 (with the intro) or the one on Jimmy Fallon where they performed in front of a palace in korea. Or check out the version of the MV with Nicki Minaj!
Would be so cool if you could do some live performances of Idol!!! At the MMAs and Jimmy Fallon etc also the last tour performance in Seoul !! There is also the ft. Nicki Minaj version
I love this video and all of the imagery and meaning to it. And the song is an anthem for knowing and loving yourself. Pretty freaking awesome. But, just for fun, you need to check out the Bad Lip Reading version of this MV called "Sample of My Pasta". It'll make you see the video in a whole new light.
If you like the dancing, you defo should react to the dance pratices were you can see the full choreo from start to finish. The idol dance practice is one of my faves, and it has more than 100 million views if i'm not mistaken
It sounds like an alto sax at the beginning of Idol but I'm not sure. As for the hair don't let other's dictate just go for it it's only hair dye well as you're hair is black you'd have to bleach it first. You can easily re dye it if you don't like it that's the beauty of hair.
This MV is fantastic. They did all green screen on purpose as a prank, all the messages and symbols are well thought. It is all to say to haters: we don´t care what you think about us. The outfits are extraordinary. The Korean allusions are beautiful.
That was my first MV from Kpop , after that I was addicted . To bad you didn't see the version with Nikki M. Try to see Got 7 and NCT127 , SUPERM, Ateez , but especially EXO you will love it
I can´t wait for you to get to their masterpieces like OUTRO: TEAR, Let Me Know, Whalien, Home, Cypher Medley, Singularity, Film Out. You're not ready but it will be so enjoyable to have you with us. I am really appreciating your heart and intellectual interest.

Yesss and they’re actually some of my favourite tracks by them:)
Yessss agreeeee 💜
Keep in mind BTS are a lot more than just their mv's. A lot of their b-sides are just as good if not better than the title tracks that have music videos. BTS are the most streamed group on Spotify for a reason.
I actually prefer most of their b sides. Idol and not today are definitely NOT on my playlist.
@@Random-qi3vv What are some of your favorite BTS songs?
Can’t help but agree while their mv songs are fun and the mvs are always amazing to look at their b sides and solo music definitely in my playlist in comparison to mv songs, maybe except for black swan and airplane pt 2.
Their B-Sides are better than the average artist’s title track.
They are secured with who they are and learned to love their selves completely.
idol makes me want to party for three days in a row and dance non-stop
You can look allso their dance practices. They are so sync and dances are so hard. Bts are amazing
There is a version featuring Nicki Minaj. Also DKDKTV has an explanation video that is 100 percent worth watching. You were right everything, I mean everything has meaning to even the small objects on the table in the opening scene. 🤩💜
I hope he watches the DKDKTV explanation for this video!
Done seeing it Nicki Minaj's collab with BTS is another level of musicality and choreography.
I’ve been rocking with you for a while now! Always loved your honest opinions on rap breakdowns… I’m 44 and have listened to rap/hiphop/and r&b most of my life. I have watched this video probably 100 times. First time noticing Suga in a Snow White shirt.
1:46 this is bts favorite song for warm up before doing performance 😂🤣 they like it so much and even dubbing Lion King movie in their variety show called "run BTS"
So dope that you're reacting to more Kpop, loving the content!

There are a looot of symbolism behind this video! 💜
Worth watching Mma live as there is intro showing how much korean tradition is in this music
You should really check out idol live at the mma 2018
Such a clapback to all the critics and so many hidden meanings, double entendres, and cultural references to uncover from something that sounds so playful and light. LOL, typical BTS genius. This song is a mood 🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺
This song is 🔥🔥🔥 when you hear it live..... It was on their set list during the last tour, seriously, it was incredible!
There is a video by an English speaking Korean who will give you an interpretation of the meaning behind the images in this MV.
Yes you can watch the explained video by a Korean here:
ruclips.net/video/IL7PEjk1pys/видео.html
I love it v much too. On top of it, today i love how knowledgeable and obsessive you are in it, when you say ‘fire’ i smile. Thanks a heap from a random follower.
And that way you'll get to know the members individually
Their MMA performace of this is amazing

I’m not the biggest fan of this song or MV personally, but I love the message, and it goes hard in concert whole crowd going “OH OH OOWOH” lol definitely check out the explanation!

The song is Gqom inspired. Gqom is a genre from South Africa, hence the african print suits
That was two different members, Jin was in the jacket and V was in the white shirt, lol💜
there's a nicki minaj collab of this song. 💜 "what's good korea?" idol is with south african beats and dance with fusion to korean trad music, wrapped in edm. hahaha amazing. the live performances of this is nuts!!! 🔥
Another one to recommend : Fire. The MV and the live performance at MAMA 2016.
There is an explanation of this mv by DKDKTV becuz it has a lot symbolism and folklore on their culture…really interesting explanation. Yes you did have a preconceived notion of what Kpop was and esp. BTS and i was cringing watching your first video of BTS but then lo and behold you kept on watching them…thank you
The symbolism is off the charts. DKDKTV did an explanation video which helps a lot.
2, Outro: Tear), LY: Answer (Compilation album had IDOL, Epiphany, Euphoria) & *ARMY songs from LY Era (HER-Hidden Track - SEA; TEAR-Magic Shop; Answer-Answer: Love Myself)* and the Japanese album LY: Face Yourself (Crystal Snow, Let Go)
More BTS please.
This video is the last scene of a whole ass hour long movie. You should watch it it’s a masterpiece. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
There is symbolism in everything in this video. DKDKTV does a fabulous explanation video for it. It is worth watching.🤗💜
DKDKTV actually did an explanation video for IDOL. There were a lot of references on this MV. If you have time you can watch it.

people used to say there was too many of them --> a thousand heads and copy pasted themselves dancing on green screen
people used to say they were too colorful --> so many colors it nearly hurts your eyes
people used to say they dyed their hair too much --> literally all of them have dyed hair in this, and V even has two different colors

Indeed wild 😃 U might want to do the IDOL explain by DKDKTV. Just saying 😊. Love all ur The Bangtannies reaction 👍🏻
This MV is fantastic. They did all green screen on purpose as a prank, all the messages and symbols are well thought. It is all to say to haters: we don´t care what you think about us. The outfits are extraordinary. The Korean allusions are beautiful.
Can you check out an explanation video for this song
Please watch the explanation video by DKDKTV to know the interesting details about the MV.

There’s a lot of cultural references in this video
